The ABH provide some long range glue ARO, Gromoz with TinBot B is our closest thing to a KHD, and the HMG with SWC discount does the heavy lifting.
Core is for defence, Haris is for grabbing objectives. Zuyong Haris teams are awesome as a result, but a Zuyong Core can work great too. Zuyong Missile Launchers especially, cracking.
Actually, I've really been fond of double 3-man, one core, one haris. The extra tax to get the +3 BS on the 5-man is just so steep, I find spreading those points out elsewhere to be more worthwhile. I think I’m going to take a bit of a advice from Ikari next time! I really like the Tanko Missile + MSV2 MSR Brawler + Keisotus. Fantastic ARO team. Cheap, two really good guys and some meh guys. But in Dahshat we have ABH! Much better troop than the Keisotsu and almost as cheap. Also, the Rui Shi replaces the Brawler. Here’s the Dahshat team vs. the Keisotsu team. The Dahshat is not much more expensive but all of the core is good, not just one or two. Curious, why the BS instead of the Combi? I think the BS is great though. Probably the only time I would take it with her. I got used to using her in ISS and putting her in Suppression fire.
a few Reasons: As a Harris this link is without a template weapon, this gives her nanopulser OR B3 in active turn the Harris already had a combi. she will most likely win a face to face within 8" enemy shot at -9 in cover vs her shot at +6 even in cover I like them odds. -- this is the band ruishi is bad at. I needed exactly 1 point I have libertos, saito, Hunzakuts for suppressive fire in the list.
I sadly didn't get to use my ML at all last game. Much of the killing was done by Red Fury Rafiq and McMurder. Totally fun having the ABH that was a duo with the Rafiq roll up a motorcycle on the Booty chart! He also got a Charontid with his Akrylate Kanon and the Rafiq later on killed it!
Dashhat thrives on the plethora of Wildcard options, flexible link teams and incredibly strong irregulars (McMurder, Libertos, Hunks). IA is indeed very hard to play - you've really got to lean on the 5 core zuyong + daoying + hac tao/yan huo reactive to make it worth playing over the much more efficient Dashhat.
Had a similar idea with IA and multiple duos of Zuyong HMGs (like a poor man's Tohaa triads). Since it's all just Haris links though, do you miss the Sixth Sense Lvl2?
The flexibility outweighs the SSL2 most of the time for me. You could easily spend a few points on a couple ABH to get up to the 5-man if you really miss it, but you’ll have to get those points by cutting something and probably having fewer orders.
I wish Dahshat was as powerful as people seem to think it is. There is definitely no Win button to hit. I've found that there's a bit of a balance to do with with a Zuyong link. if you have too many Zuyong you don't have points for other things. if you go with a lot of ABH, they can easily be taken out by things Zuyong shrug off. But the flexibility is amazing! Unlike other armies you can almost form your teams on the fly due to so many wildcards. Good ones at that.
