Actually Occam's Razor would suggest that the original inclusion as a separate profile in JSA is an error. To apply Occam's Razor to suggest a conspiracy at the expense of JSA players is a sharp right turn into conspiracy-ville.

If you're referring to the Uprising profiles PDF from October, it says "NOTE: This option is only available in the Druze Bayram Security Sectorial Army." for the Specialist Operative version of Saito.

I don't find that explanation likely either. They would lose nothing by saying "oops we messed that up" and putting him back in. Committing to an accidental power shift because they can't admit a mistake makes no sense.

My guess it's a primarily a revenue thing. What's great for CB about all these new merc factions is they don't have to build an entirely new model range and all the costs associated with it.

Meanwhile, players can take models they already own, and buy just a few new ones to play a different faction. Hopefully they like those new models so much that they end up buying their native faction too!

Combine that with the fact that specialist Saito was a staple in JSA lists. If there's a perceived power imbalance within a faction, there a few solutions to it. One is to remove the powerful piece. If they realize a lot of people already own Saito, he's a good entry point into a new faction.

If they remove his most powerful version from JSA, they see it as both solving internal balance AND encouraging people to buy into a new faction at the same time.

    Win-win! (But not really)

But that itself could be a copy/paste error from the original release of DBS (and likely is).

I've just checked the source files. It's not a copy-paste error.

It sucks that Army was wrong, and wasn't fixed for five months, but that doesn't stop it being a bug in Army. :-(

I don't know how you'd confirm that without asking the people in question.

Who created those source files? Did they create them right before DBS dropped and then forget to update them?

Well excuse me for wanting a more balanced game. Is CB's plan to create a tournament environment where JSA sucks, and if you want to win you play Tohaa or ALEPH?

Uhm, the Uprising Profiles PDF Profiles PDF ver 4.2 shows a Specialist Profile for Saito in JSA, not just Army. And I'm pretty sure the previous versions did, too.

Looking at it, I dunno if it did. It *should* be in JSA, however - if it isn't that's a mistake in theory if not in practice.

Specialist Saito was listed in JSA with no such note. It's easier to believe they forgot to go back and remove the Druze note (because Druze didn't get any updates during Uprising) than that they copied both profiles and never noticed.

You mean wasn't fixed for almost a year, right? Uprising dropped last May or so, didn't it?

Just to check that we're looking at the same file, this is the one with a creation date of March 22nd (not October, my mistake), that starts with JSA units, then Dire Foes, Mercenaries, the StarCo chart on p24, Ikari and Druze?

The only Saito unit entry I can see in that is on p40, with the note.

Could you see my previous post, to check that we're all looking at the same file? I can only find one entry for Saito, which matches the source file.

As a general note, I also think the Specialist version of Saito shouldn't be removed from JSA, but that's a separate issue from whether he was in there by mistake.

He's listed on page 65 of version 4.2 under JSA, with both profiles, and no note. This is the current version on the site, with a creation date of 9/2018.|

He's not listed under JSA at all in the PDF at https://assets.infinitythegame.net/downloads/uprising/en/v1.0/uprising.pdf, which I think is the one you're referring to, but I would hold that the complete profiles PDF is to be considered a more accurate source than anything in another PDF that is both only a subset of profiles and significantly older.

Here's the kicker: Musashi is listed under JSA with no such note that his Regular/Haris profile is exclusive to JSA, despite him being a merc, and Yojimbo is listed with mercs. Based on this PDF, why don't all SoF players get access to Regular Musashi?

Every time I see this thread, I try to understand - why does the CB do this? Why is it so important, is there a specialist profile or not? Is there any piece of background says that Saito can only press buttons when Druzes pay him? If not - so why not, give it to JSA, in the game it will change significantly less than TA HMG Zuyong in Dahshat.

    Hello everyone,

I'm here just to confirm that:

Saito Togan Specialist Operative loadout is officially only available at the Druze Bayram Security.

Is there any reason for this?

Why did you feel this nerf to JSA was necessary?

    Thank you for answering.

However, why did you take one of JSA's very few infiltrating specialists away?
