Does a Lieutenant who gets isolated still generate their lieutenant order on the following turn?

Obviously their regular order becomes irregular and they cannot spend orders from the pool. But they are still alive at that point and still have the skill on their profile, so would they still generate their Lt order and be able to spend it to try to reset?

LOL doesn't seem to say anything about Lts not generating their Lt orders.

This is particularly pertinent for Strategos. As there appears to be no reason they would not still be converted to Regular orders.

(Originally asked on Infinity Australia Facebook, RAW answer appears to be "You're still good to continue spending your Lt orders in whatever manner is legal when your not in LOL.")

I'm happy to see that my dream of Buffy and Faith the co-lieutenants is still alive.

What happens in the case of Retreat? The Retreat State say "An army in Retreat! is automatically considered to be in a state of Loss of Lieutenant." Will your LT still generate an LT order?

The question that's both in Spanish and in English is asking that question. It seems to be mechanically left unspoken.

Doesn't a Lieutenant who is isolated not be a lieutenant at the end of the turn?

They don't stop being the Lt until a new Lt is chosen at the start of the first turn after LOL.

So if you get your Lt Isolated during turn 1, you spend turn 2 in LOL with an Isolated Lt but don't replace them until the start of Turn 3.

Ah, so because it doesn't say when you are no longer a lieutenant there is confusion. :/

    Exactly.

Simplest solution is "an Isolated Lt does / does not generate Lieutenant Orders".

My preferred simplest solution is "entering the Loss of Lieutenant state causes your lt to lose her lt status. You have no lt until you appoint a new one."

I think that's probably the intent of the rule, it's consistent with the phrase "loss of lieutenant," and it makes all the confusing interactions go away.

It raises questions for ITS interactions for killing Lts.

I guess? Most ITS missions with lt killing have Reinforced Tactical Link anyway, but for those that don't - you only lack an lt until the end of your LoL turn. By the time it's your opponent's turn again, you've had to pick a new lt for them to go after. I'm not sure what the issue would be, but it's all hypothetical anyway unless CB adopts my suggestion :-)

Your solution would make the Lt stop being the Lt as soon as it was Isolated.

So say you EM a Jotum Ltit would stop being an Lt before you have the chance to capitalise on its crippled state.

No, it would happen at the start of your turn. LoL says:

If, during the Tactical Phase of the Active Turn, the Active Player lacks a Lieutenant because they did not deploy or the previous Lieutenant is currently in a Null (Unconscious, Dead, Sepsitorized...) or Isolated State, then a situation of Loss of Lieutenant is automatically declared.

So, the timeline is: on my turn I isolate your Jotum. It's still your Lt. Now I try to kill it and if I do, I killed an Lt. If I fail to kill it, at the start of your turn in the Tactical Phase you enter Loss of Lieutenant, so your Jotum stops being your Lt at that point.

I think the "kill the lieutenant(s)" missions have been plagued by technical wording issues anyway, so they aren't the standard to judge by.

For example, knock a lieutenant unconscious, new lieutenant is selected, first one is healed, then is killed outright. Did you kill a lieutenant?
