Interesting, out of the units you said, Yuriko is 0 SWC, the REMs are expensive tho. Don't you feel that Keisotsu HMG and Kempeitai kinda occupy the same duty? Both have high burst weapons to use on the active turn. One has a fifth die and better range, but the other has MSV and is a better shot. I also am not sure that the Keisotsu Hacker is good enough. You get Assisted Fire and Enhanced Reaction, but its 2 SWC for that. But there might be something better to spend the SWC on. I also play a lot of the FO, I mean 10pts for a specialist that AROs on 12s-15s, hell yeah.
Even at 37/2, the Rui Shi is the best performing gun in JSA. It's fast, you have access to smoke for non-linked AROs, and nothing else in your army hits BS15 so easily.
@Ashtaroth The Kempetai brings MSV2 and shock, both of which are really valuable against certain threats. Being able to knock down Dogged warbands is important; Chain Rifles threaten ODD + TO units + REMs, and Close Combat can lock down Karakuri, and warbands tend to bring both of these methods of attack.
Absolutely, I agree with that assessment and Kempeitai MSV is in almost every JSA list I make. My initial point was having both an HMG Keisotsu and a Kempeitai MSV2 seem to fill the same role and taking both of them in the same Fireteam I'm not sure is worthwhile.
I'm also a fan of the Ryuken HRL. I think he finds his place more when I want to hotly contest a lot of territory with ARO. Ryuken and TR bot together are scary to attack, if you layer them properly. On occasion I'll run two. Everyone has already mentioned that it's hard to shell game an opponent when the Ryuken is the only camo marker, but when you have four of them down, things get a bit harder for your opponent to parse. I find them fun, but I'm less decided that they're effective for their points cost. I'm in agreement that they could really use a visual mod, even granting that the X-visor can contribute to some heavily weighted gun fights. If you do find an occasion to actually surprise shot with them, they can be really effective. JSA in reactive is always a nail-biter.
