By way of correction, the dimensions for tables (starting on page 81) are given as W x L, but dimensions of deployment zones are given as L x W.
I was hoping that there would be more allowance for premeasuring, or at least measuring zone of control. I'm a little disappointed to see that C1 still requires you to guess if the opponent was within 8" of you, with the risk of losing your ARO if you get it wrong.
In contrast, you now are able to wave your ruler around your model until you find a suitable path for your given movement length.
Yes, and seemingly with no penalty to Dodge. Also no penalty for TAGs Dodging either, but they can't go prone.
I'm a little bummed that REMs are just 3 mm high when "prone" and TAGs can't drop prone at all. Kinda wish they'd just introduced a "hull down" state for REMs and TAGs that let them drop down to half their normal Silhouette height or something, to represent crouching, so they'd be able to claim more cover but not to the point of being just 3 mm tall.
No one has pointed this out yet, but there don't seem to be any units with the Remdriver skill on page 76 of the rulebook. It looks like an interesting skill though...
Mono already reduces their armour to zero and insta kills on a failed save (that you will most likely fail), it really doesn't need any damage boosts.
There isn't a level of MA that doesn't either Increase your chances and/or reduces your opponent's chance, there is nothing here like the old MA2 which was just a dam buff. If you could apply dam mods to mono you would end up with needing an un-modified 16 with MA4 (12 goes to 15, then 16 to exceed), which on something that often can't fail the roll, and often increased crit chance would just be dumb (all of which before you add in things like HD, camo and mimetism -6). Frankly I would have preferred if the ammo died in the edition change but here we are.
Yes, but if you have a mono CCW and MA3 or 4, you're paying extra points for what could have just been MA2.
So the solution to mitigate the waste from not using an expensive upgrade is to not use an other expensive upgrade.
One stealth change I've found is that in C1 Lieutenant's WIP is open information during Initiative roll. It might be like this because there's no LoL in C1, but if this rule will make it into N4 a lot of mind games concerning Lt. identity will be invalidated.
