I've found Ryuken to be subpar when I try to use them as suppression units in a forward layout. When I pair them up and hold them on short fire lanes behind their mines near an objective, they denied access all game, to caledonia no less. They're best if you can move them into short range on the angles the enemy wants to advance up, and then go into suppressive. That way the only way to move you is to fight you up close where even if they get a kill on you they had to waste time and energy dealing with your mines+you. I like making the enemy fight inside his DZ so I can move up my other melee fireteams in peace.
