    I reckon CC 16, BS 13, PH 14, WIP 13.

Round about Daofei that has Airborne Deployment rather than Infiltration and CH: Camo is my expectation.

Potentially ARM 3 and BTS 6, mind. With D-Charges, a MULTI Rifle, BSg and Spitfire option, that'd be pretty badass and varied in tactical options.

Instead of an AHD, what about a KHD? cheaper, no SWC tax, and allows the HI to really screw up anyone trying to hack it.

Sun Tze says 2W plus NWI is awesome.

    Automedikit?

If you just make a flying Zuyong, it's very difficult not to step on the toes of the Tigers. I'm expecting something about 15-20pts over a Tiger, in the 40-55pt range.

I do agree that we're probably looking at mostly 'light' HI profiles, to allow ~7 HI in a 300pt list (and the rest REMs).

Yeah, that wouldn't be a bad starting point, but that's a 50-60pt troop. We probably need to aim closer to 40-55pts.

Would it? I reckon camo and infiltration costs more on the Daofei than AD would. I dunno how much AD is but I reckon it's about 5-8pts. If it literally was a MB equivalent with AD, you're looking at around 40-45pts I bet.

The real distinction it will have from Tigers will be 2 W and higher ARM. Also potentially PH 14 for proper drops! That will cost of course, but not thaaaat much. Besides, it'll be hackable, reasonable weakness there.

So my little wishlist/suspected Liu Xing would look like this:

    - ARM 4 (he lacks any of the kevlar bits you see on ARM 3 YJ HI like the Zuyong or Domaru)
    - BS 13 (nothing crazy and keeps him in line with the other HIs BS in IA)
    - Some sort of visual or shooting modifier (My wish is for Albedo as it fits with the units name being shooting star)
    - I could see his price ranging from low to high 40s (This helps to separate them for the Tiger Soldiers just in price)

I just want something that isn't an upgraded Tiger or a Zuyong with AD. There are much cooler concepts to play with.

Has HI needs some protection against hackers, and more if he will go near enemy troops. Stealth is a good protection. BTS 6 will make him very expensive (remember our Bao Troops). We can improve his protection with Fairy Dust (orders... Zhanshis?).
Stealth and Mimetism is a good deal. That can be possible?? Let's see next time!!

Bao points costs are all sorts of funky. What I'm getting is that their BTS costs roughly 1 point on the Sniper profile which is the easiest to break down to get close to Celestial Guard. Only problem is, the Bao unit isn't consistent. If we assume the Sniper is the correct price*, I'll then adjust prices accordingly:

    [IMG]6
[IMG] BÀO TROOP (X Visor, Multispectral Visor L2) Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) (down 2)
[IMG] BÀO TROOP (Multispectral Visor L2) Boarding Shotgun, Contender / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21) (down 2)
[IMG] BÀO TROOP (Multispectral Visor L2) MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29)
[IMG] BÀO TROOP (Multispectral Visor L2, Biometric Visor L2) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) (down 1)
[IMG] BÀO TROOP (X Visor, Biometric Visor L2) Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) (down 3)
[IMG] BÀO TROOP (Biometric Visor L2) Boarding Shotgun, Contender / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18) (down 4)

So something's seriously wrong with the Bao troop unit profile. X-visor internally depending on weapon options, but this we can explain with rounding, however, BioV2 varies internally between 1 and 4 points! (And for the record, BioV1 is rounding-error cheap)

    * I'm assuming the sniper is correct because 1 point for 3->6 BTS seems to be consistent with other units.

    ---

In either case, you can deconstruct the Shang-Ji by comparing it to Wu Ming to come to the conclusion that either the BTS or the PH increase costs 2 points and by comparing Shang-Ji to other units outside faction you'll come to the conclusion that it's PH that's expensive of the two.

I'd rather voice the contrarian opinion and I actually do hope that the Liu Xing has mimetism even if that kind of steps on the toes of the Tiger Soldier. ODD even. I'd rather double down on the investment of points as I find AD:Combat Jump to be risky and a bit overpriced as it is. That being said, I do think the Liu Xing's role should be more of the armor cracker. Let it somewhat take the place of what the Oniwaban had in that it can be a threat to heavy targets like a TAG, Lt, or HI. Not extra burst from Full Auto but something like Fatality Level 1 to be used in Tandem with a CCW/D-charge to make things 'splode. If it is to have specialist option, make it a killer one like a KHD or some newly introduced equivalent. Automedikit's probably not a bad idea to include either.

I like the sound of that.

    I agree.

Why not just bring a cheaper unhackable tiger?

    Actually wondering now.

Because it's HI, does that mean you can pop Fairy Dust, then AD jump, and the program will still affect it?

If so, does this also allow firewall mods to work vs Hack Transport Aircraft?

Fairy Dust target's the Hacker themself and affects the Hacker's army list and covers the gaming table so, yes you can use Fairy Dust prior to AD: Combat Jumping them. There is an argument to be made that the Liu Xing isn't on the table prior to actually landing and as such can't benefit from Fairy Dust versus a Hack Transport, however Controlled Jump makes use of very similar terms and conditions so I don't think that'll hold up to inspection.

Personally I would rule when TOing until further notice that Fairy Dust would protect the Liu Xing versus Hack Transport, however, I also expect that to change with FAQ clarification, though I suppose that even at -9 Hack Transport does pose a risk free attempt at foiling the jump.

Thanks, forgot about controlled, so use to EVO hacking devices to boost AD. So that makes sense.

Just way I see it, with ITS 10 AD rules, being able to use fairy dust (possibly from an EVO for a 2 in 1 AD boost) and then LX Explode, it's got a lot of things going for it to make quite the entrance and discourage certain AROs.

Obviously don't want to get ahead of myself, will just have to wait for profiles first.

That sort of makes a good point, though. Under the assumption that the Liu Xing turns the Landing Zone into an Explode template, playing them outside of ITS10 makes it extremely awkward to use due to the requirement of having that template clear of scenery items...

I'm quite liking what I see so far. It's no tiger BUT it can more safely operate against weapons that a tiger wouldn't want to go near. Namely mines and templates. I can see it working in closer ranges than the tiger may be comfortable with. Where mimetism isnti as important.

The one wound plus NWI is actually a blessing in disguise. Cause these drop troops have been designed in my opinion as very fire and forget. Whether as specialists or missiles they seem to want to drop in. Run at what they were dropped to do, then hold, repeat the slaughter or die. Either way. They will be operating well outside of any doctor support. Also. And this is the big one. Because of NWI. When they fall. They really die. Which is good. Because it opens up a slot in the combat group for reserves.

In an army that will most likely get to around 12- 14 models at most. That free slot to command token swap is very important.

+1 For you. I'm really enjoying the MR Specialist option - If Liu Xing came out like shangji with wings, it couldve been a over invest on drop trooper. Current profile is niche and plausible at least.
