Just a small one. Lawmakers seem to be basically Aragoto+ at the same cost as we see now. I'm excited to see if this means Aragoto will get closer to being cheap and basically throw-away or if we're going to see something a bit more exiting for them.

After watching the new Starmada profiles N4, for the sake of this game balance we should expect a huge overhaul of all N3 profiles for all factions. The new profiles just sound like OP BS from a N3 point of view.

Well, they have stated they will overhaul all factions, but there is a quality in costs and while the O-12 profiles are overloaded with goodness, there is value in having a bare minimum and just being able to afford more. An Aragoto Combi for 16 would be a fair competitor to this arguably plain better Lawmaker, simply by allowing you to buy more Oniwaban-level stuff.

So I've been eyeing the game more and more the last couple of months and have been contemplating coming back to Morats or going USARF or JSA. After making a lot of lists I think CB would have to pull off a hat trick to keep from going Bushido... The list variability in N3 for JSA is huge compared to the other 2 mentioned. I imagine with all the wild card and link team mixing that will be going on all factions will get a larger variety of list happening but my concern if everything gets cheaper, imagine how hard it will be for an army like USARF to to make an Limited Insertion list or for JSA to keep up it's high variability of single combat group lists...

I'm hoping JSA as well as every other faction get little add-on's here and there as well as just trimmed down profiles. So list variety stays high.

Having them be cheaper might be cool, it would allow us to be a bit more reckless with the bikes if they're costed appropriately. The word on the street is though that the main areas that got points discounts are CC and ARM, neither of which Aragoto have much of. At least I can hope for discounts on a lot of other stuff in JSA.

I do really hope they don't just get overshadowed, obviously. They're arguably the most iconic bikes in Infinity.

They have unfortunately confirmed fairly unambiguously that there are no plans for any new JSA releases.

That's not the same as not being brought up to par with N4, but don't expect new units.

Cheaper bikes do seem very attractive if they mantain the ability to cancel impetuous and be specialists. But I think that goes against the biker gang vibe, I'd rather see them with more loadouts other than Combi Rifles or Spitfire. More scrappy stuff like SMGs, Panzerfausts, template weapons ( I mean, Kuroshi has one and it's alright), non-smoke grenades.
If we are to maintain the same weapon loadouts then I'd like them to have 13 BS, because if they're cheaper, but die to the first ARO, since they can't contest F2F, then you are probably better investing points in something else.

I feel like Aragoto shouldn't be bristling with too many weapons or gear, though things like SMGs and Assault Pistols would fit in perfectly. Panzerfausts and Blitzen would be pretty welcome too, to make coordinated shooting with them much more dangerous.

I've always thought Hyperdynamics (or +3 Dodge, as per the new format) would have felt good on Aragoto. They're supposed to be blisteringly fast, expert racers; I guess that's what the mimetism reflects, but I really don't think they'd feel over the top if you allowed them to ignore the -3 to dodge on bikes. They're only PH11, after all.

We at least get a new profile with the recently released SMG-ninja.

No, I saw the hot cold rundown with HellLois, someone asked him about new stuff for JSA and he said cold. But new profiles is kind of different. I'm just worried that they just get made cheaper and then enjoy some of the same buffs everyone else is like how we are joking about 6-2 move with kinematica 2 in the other thread. It's suits JSA well because it's a CC oriented sectorial but just a few new weapon profiles here, a new skill on an already existing unit there? Like hyperdynamics and an assault pistol and or SMG with flammenspear on Aragoto wouldn't break the game but it would add some utility and fit thematically.

Let's just hope we get some nice surprises. As far as things are looking, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna roll with JSA.

    Right. I must've misunderstood you.

I do think we'll see some JSA profile changes in line with what N4 brings in general, but I doubt we'll see any as "extreme" as what we'll probably see with the Ninja. What is considered bloated will probably stay bloated and what's considered slim will probably stay slim, and I'm fairly sure that's generally speaking true for most factions. So I'm sceptical about fancier changes, and I think instead of hoping for a new faction it's more realistic to look forward to how to play roughly what we already have using N4 rules and prices.
The latter there, prices, is what I'm personally most hopeful for, where it seems the more costly units go down in price in CodeOne and if that translates to N4 as well we might see cheaper Domaru, Oniwabans, Shikami, O-Yoroi, Daiyokai and Karakuri with units like Aragoto, Tanko, maybe Ninjas, etc remaining similar to what we have now unless there are some specific abilities that's been redesigned and considering the cost of the Lawmaker there might be some motorcycle related stuff that makes Aragoto simply a bit cheaper.

JSA doesnt seem too pressed for being able to bring a little of everything, I like that.

I dunno, comparing the lawkeeper BSG to the Aragoto BSG seems pretty fair to me. +1pt ea for multipistol, improved CC, improved BTS, fatality lvl1; -1pt due to lack of Courage = 3pt differential

I don't think exotic pistols costs points (they don't seem to on the Zuyong at least, and they have two breakers). Also don't forget that an Aragoto BSG is 20 points given the price increase on BSGs.

Adding hyperdynamics is the obvious move here, thematically, functionally, and to balance out points with new units.

Whether that gets done remains to be seen.
