- Shikami can now form a Haris with Domaru and Karakuri. Yuriko and Kempeitai can also join as wildcards - Both Kempeitai and Yuriko are coherent with Keisotsu and will retain full core bonuses - Aragoto can duo with another Aragoto or Kuroshi Rider - Mixed Domaru Core will not be coherent with Tankos or Daiyokai - You can have several Duos now. Either with an obligatory Domaru + Tanko/Daiyokai/Wildcard or between Domaru, Shikami, Karakuri and Wildcards in any combination
I dont get the shikami being linkable. He is a solo piece who needs to move quickly and use super jump and climbing plus. Am i missing anything? I guess he could duo with another shikami.
Putting him in a Haris helps with order efficiency, which was one of his major weaknesses. B2 Contender and B5 Assault Pistol will also be nice to have on a Mim [-6] HI.
Use the Haris to get them up the field, then break them off to Super Jump/climb to an advantageous position or take out a rooftop sniper.
I am not really happy with the changes to the do/Tanko link. It was one of the sources for moderate longrange fire in the faction and got a nerf bat. But as most mixed fireteams have gone down in raw power it might still be OK. Will have to try it. I think the shikami in a Haris can be a lot of fun. And aragoto duos are something I wanted for a long time.
An Aragoto/Kuroshi Haris would have been very nice. But I'm pretty happy with the changes. They change the way of how you have to think when composing fireteams. For me the Keisotsu pure core-team seems more interesting than before. What do you guys think?
You guys missed the Daiyokai can pointman for Keisotsu now, no pure team bonuses but he doesn't have to hang out with Domaru anymore.
Hi there, Overall I'm quite happy with the changes, tried a Shikami/Karakuri/Domaru-Harris yesterday, it's fun to play and can tackle a lot of situations. Only thing I'm kind of sad about is that the DoTanko Link doesn't get the full bonus, it's such an iconic and thematic link, and wasn't overpowered compared to other Links. I knida hoped for a "Samurai Corelink", giving Domaru, Tanko and possibly Daiyokai the "Samurai" Keyword to be able to create a full bonus Link with them, similar to the "Morat-Link"
I want to try a Shikami in a Haris. The Karakuri can provide fire support against overwatch units that the Shikami cannot evade/ignore. After the path is clear, break the Fireteam and run forward to claim objetctves or stab things.
Domaru and Tanko not counting as the same unit makes sense from a lore perspective; the Domaru don't exactly like the Tanko all that much. From a gameplay perspective, yeah, losing 2 BS hurts a bit, but keep in mind that most attack pieces that are going to be shooting at them *also* lost 2 BS, and losing 2 BS on a B2 ARO is less impactful than the 2 BS that was lost on the B5 HMG. It's going to be pretty rare for anything to get to BS 15 or above (except PanO), so B2 BS 14 should be fine. Shang Ji AP HMG, Evader AP Spitfire, Vet Kazak... all those threats just dropped to BS 14. Additionally, most of the super-ARO pieces also lost 2 BS, which makes solo attack pieces like the O-Yoroi or Ryuken better. I think overall this update was beneficial for JSA; you guys do a lot of work with solo-pieces, which got better.
If I'm reading it right, you can do an Aragoto Kuroshi Haris - 2 Aragato, 1 Kuroshi. That sounds like fun, as long as you've got room to move 3 big bases.... a B5 Spitfire, hacker, and Kuroshi could be pretty fun. One for shooting, one for hacking, one for CC.
Did anyone point out that you can Run Aragoto Hacker/BSG - Kuroshi - Kempeitai MSV2 Haris now? Because, you know, you totally can - and this fixes the unreliable Smoke LGL of Kuroshi somewhat while also giving a Kempeitai an extra Burst for his trouble? While the speed of those don't exactly match up so well and it would be awesome to have a Kempeibike just so we can do this whole awesomeness it could be interesting to try. Not sure why Kuroshi doesn't count as Aragoto and/or Musashi doesn't count as Tanko :/ P.S. Also, it's hard to not point out that it's possible to run Keisotsu Haris now supporting a heavy hitter, for example, with Daiyokai linked with Keisotsu Paramedic and a regular Keisotsu. A very cheap way to get extra dice thrown by your bulky boi without dragging along too many fragile bodies. Generally, the update enabled the HI + 2 cheap LI Haris style of play a fair bit.
I honestly think have a small Core and a Haris is much more viable now due to the lack of things like Kamau and Grenzers getting full bonuses in mixed teams.
Honestly the Aragato Spitfire is looking pretty tasty in a Haris. With a BSG + Kuroshi, that's a crazy fast team, and they come with Smoke and some decent gunfighting (especially if they hop off their bikes to gain Partial Cover).
