Seeing as how we seem to be a relatively small group, I thought it might be interesting to discuss one or two "cores" around which to build a Druze list. Specifically, the fireteam.

In another thread, the community is discussing the Mimetism Druze sniper over the MSV2 Brawler. Aside from that, here is an example of a few units I always include in my team:

    [IMG] Druze Bayram Security
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]3
[IMG] DRUZE (CH: Mimetism) MULTI Sniper / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 32)
[IMG] DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher (E/M and Nimbus) / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27)
[IMG] CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)

    3.5 SWC | 77 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

The EMGL and Clipper, to me, are iconic of our mercs, and I have included them every chance I get. The GL in particular is so nasty, just being in the list causes enemies to give your team distance.

Then we get to some more major decisions. I feel like the rest of my team depends on bringing Scarface or Saito, as the TAG eats another 1.5 SWC.

The last big piece, (in my eyes), is your choice of LT. It seems like the Brawler is the go-to for being cheap, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Again, my goal here is to create to "core" lists around which to expand based on mission. I know many of you frown on this. I know there is no great "all-comers" list in infinity. I just think the Druze are in a great position to function/pivot around a small core.

Ideally this is what I like to build around, including redundancy. The LT brawler is optional and can be the other options depending on scenarios and how many points I have left at the end of the list.

    [IMG]7
[IMG] DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher (E/M and Nimbus) / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27)
    [IMG] DRUZE HMG, Chain-colt / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29)
[IMG] DRUZE Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25)
[IMG] CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)
[IMG] BRAWLER (Multispectral Visor L2) MULTI Sniper / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 28)
[IMG] VALERYA GROMOZ Hacker (Hacking Device UPGRADE: Expel) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21)
[IMG] BRAWLER Lieutenant Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16)

    5.5 SWC | 164 Points

This the bare bones of it, kind of what I ideally want in my link at the beginning of the game.

    [IMG]4
[IMG] DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher (E/M and Nimbus) / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27)
    [IMG] DRUZE HMG, Chain-colt / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29)
[IMG] CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)
[IMG] BRAWLER (Multispectral Visor L2) MULTI Sniper / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 28)

    5 SWC | 102 Points

And if I need the SWC for other units instead, the MSV-2 sniper goes if I include Le Muet (which I do often) or the HMG goes if I get Scarface or the 'Conda. When dropping the HMG, the shock Marksman rifle can be a good substitute.

These are generally what I build around for my non LI or SoF lists.

I start with this and then go from there:

    [IMG] Druze Bayram Security
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]9 [IMG]1
[IMG] DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher (E/M and Nimbus) / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27)
    [IMG] DRUZE HMG, Chain-colt / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29)
[IMG] DRUZE Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25)
[IMG] BRAWLER (Multispectral Visor L2) MULTI Sniper / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 28)
[IMG] VALERYA GROMOZ Hacker (Hacking Device UPGRADE: Expel) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21)
[IMG] CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)
[IMG] PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16)
    [IMG] PEACEMAKER Heavy Shotgun + AUXBOT_3 / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21)
    [IMG] [IMG] AUXBOT_3 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)
[IMG] HUNZAKUT (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)
[IMG] SAITO TOGAN (Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, EXP CCW, Knife. (0 | 40)

    5.5 SWC | 243 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

Could go second Hunzakut plus Arslan, Brawler Lt. plus Haris, switch Saito and the Peacemaker for Scarface and Cordilia (switch HMG to SMR to free up SWC), switch Pathfinder or Hunzakut with Bashi etc.
But this is always the base my DBS lists are founded on.
I kinda would like to take the Brawler HRL instead of the Clipper, but the Clipper adds so much more tactical option to the list, that it never feels justifiable.

@McNamara, you can throw another Hunzakut on there and it's still at least half of my DBS lists.

Okay, so we'll start with this:

    [IMG] Core
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]5
[IMG] DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher (E/M and Nimbus) / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27)
    [IMG] DRUZE HMG, Chain-colt / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29)
[IMG] DRUZE Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25)
[IMG] CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)
[IMG] VALERYA GROMOZ Hacker (Hacking Device UPGRADE: Expel) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21)

    4 SWC | 120 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

Followed by your choice of Sniper:

    [IMG]2
[IMG] DRUZE (CH: Mimetism) MULTI Sniper / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 32)
[IMG] BRAWLER (Multispectral Visor L2) MULTI Sniper / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 28)

    3 SWC | 60 Points

Armand is also a choice, though you can't link him up.
Next comes our first big choice:

    [IMG]2
[IMG] SAITO TOGAN (Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, EXP CCW, Knife. (0 | 40)

    +

    [IMG] PEACEMAKER Heavy Shotgun + AUXBOT_3 / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21)
    [IMG] [IMG] AUXBOT_3 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)

    0 SWC | 61 Points

    or +

    [IMG] PEACEMAKER Spitfire + AUXBOT_3 / Electric Pulse. (1 | 27)
    [IMG] [IMG] AUXBOT_3 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)

    1 SWC | 67 Points

If you want to run a badass TAG, now we're likely to replace Saito + Peacemaker with:

    [IMG]2
    [IMG] SCARFACE & CORDELIA TURNER . (1.5 | 74)
    [IMG] [IMG] SCARFACE 2 Mk12, Heavy Rocket Launcher / AP CCW. (1.5 | 57)
[IMG] [IMG] SCARFACE Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. ()
    [IMG] [IMG] CORDELIA TURNER Combi Rifle, Chain-colt, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17)

    1.5 SWC | 74 Points

Or an Anaconda + Brawler Engineer for 82-84 points and 2 SWC.
At this point, the rest of your list is dependent on mission, opponent, and personal play style. See @Q.A.I. 's DBS Tactica for more on each of our choices. You'll have spent roughly 194 points and about 5.5 SWC, leaving you with about 100 points of wiggle room.

Though I've already said it, this thread is not meant to tell anyone how they should play Druze, just to get some creative juices flowing.

To be honest, I used Druze LGL few times and he didn't do anything interesting.
I see his potential, I know how linked X-Visored E/M ammo can be devastating on certain types of units, I'm sad I didn't had him when I was playing against JSA with Karakuri Haris, but still he's not my go-to unit in DBS.

In my meta we're playing different tournaments, from 150 to 300pts and with different scenarios - ITS, 20x20, YAMS and our own.
And my backbone of all Druze lists are the same -
    Druze HMG ( Vasquez ),
    Clipper SML and,
depending on points played - some sniper. Usually in one list I take Brawler MSV2 and in the second Druze.
I also almost always have Druze KHD ( Hudson ) in my lists.
And in all of my games the LT was Hicks - Druze. It's a bit of a problem with such obvious LT, but it's hard to hide your LT in this army, especially in lower points tournaments.

I also always use Hunzakut FO.
And usually also Peacemaker HS, I hate AuxBots in PanO and love them when I use them :P
In bigger battles I like to take Saito.

And I'm also a fan of ABH with Red Fury - cheap, especially in SWC, and very dangerous :)

After few games I don't use Valerya that often. And Scarface is usually left on the shelf.

    PozdRawiam / Greetings

P.S. We're going to play next tournament with only 150pts (20.05.2018) - it's really hard to squeeze DBS into such format :D I'm interested how it's gonna work ;)

I actually had a second Hunzakut in the first draft of the post. :)

From the looks of it at 300 points there really seems to be a something like a typical Druze list.
I guess it comes from having so limited choices compared to other sectorials. It does cost DBS a little bit of surprise, but I feel the list is still flexible enough to adabt, because of our link team power.

Absolutely. This thought is what made me put up the the thread. Our drawback is the lack of options and surprise, but we make up for it with an extremely flexible fireteam.

I think we may agree with each other here. I have played games where the LGL does nothing at all, but the very fact that it is in my fireteam poses a massive threat to my opponent. When they back away from my Druze, not only are they now lined up for my sniper, but I've controlled a large area of the table without having to spend an order.

This does indeed look like our "typical" core:
As for Hunzakut, I'm definitely in the same camp as all of you. I always have one, if not two. Its a Haqq habit, I think. Honestly their just so good!

Nice thing about the Druze E/M LGL is that he's still quite good with that Combi, even if you never see a major opportunity for the LGL itself. Hitting targets in Partial Cover out to 32 inches on 12s, Burst 4, Damage 14 makes for a nice backup gunner in case you start losing heavy weapons.

The EM LGL isn't something you will use every game, and despite some commentary to the contrary DBS doesn't do well by spamming it. Despite the infrequency of it's use, it is still a faction defining weapon in my opinion.

It is a tool that solves certain problems better than any other tool in the sectorial and when you need it you will be grateful for having it. Its inclusion can completely counter some lists (I'm looking at you Military Orders Knights) and gives the ability to deal with units that are very difficult to solve without it. The Avatar, rooftop Lts, HI in suppression fire, etc, are all examples of some of the unique situations where it shines.

In 5 games at Rumble this year, I only fired it three times; all in one game and at the same three targets, two of which were specialists in Hunting Party. It was a crucial part of getting a Major in that match, but it didn't come into play in the other four games.

Even with how little I use it in most games, I never leave home without it. When you need it, nothing else will do what it does.

I think DBS is much more diverse outside of tournament settings. The "basic template" for druze is very strong and offers a lot. We can do silly things (as I'm prone to, I play casually with nieces and nephews a lot) such as hacker/rem heavy or heavy firepower with lots of panzerfaust and HRLs; issue is, is that skewed lists like that have either obvious/hard counters or aren't really better as much as different. In a tourney setting you're trying to be competitive against all-comers, and the Hunz + Druze/clipper core really does well at that

So here's an example of our "Core" + Saito and Peacemaker:
    [IMG] Core Classic
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]9 [IMG]1

[IMG] DRUZE Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25)
[IMG] CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)
[IMG] VALERYA GROMOZ Hacker (Hacking Device UPGRADE: Expel) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21)
[IMG] BRAWLER (Multispectral Visor L2) MULTI Sniper / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 28)
[IMG] BRAWLER Lieutenant Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16)
[IMG] HUNZAKUT (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)

[IMG] SAITO TOGAN (Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, EXP CCW, Knife. (0 | 40)
    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]4
[IMG] KAMEEL Hacker (EVO Hacking Device) Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 25)

[IMG] FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8)
[IMG] FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8)
    6 SWC | 300 Points

Plenty I could change around in this list, such as dropping the Kameel and swapping it for a number of units and/or upgrading my Lt. One thing I've struggled with is filling out the back end of my lists. I always want to get as close to 6 SWC/300 Points as I can, while still meeting my mission requirements. This list, or something very close, will be played in Transmission Matrix and Unmasking.

    What do you guys think?

I have that exact same list of course I think I even posted it in another thread a while ago, only the peacemaker switches battlegroups with the pathfinder.

I suspect a lot of us have the same lists saved in our apps, DBS has just enough diversity and options to not be predictable past the core team but still with so few options we're not going to be all that different form one another.

You get the core team, decide how much redundancy you want and which hackers, grab some Hunzakuts probably a Peacemaker, then pick one or two from the list:
    • Saito
    • Scarface
    • Le Muet
    • Arslan
    • EVO
Then with what you have leftover season to taste with Fugazis, Pathfinders, Bashis, ABH, or a Warcors.

It's pretty standard and a little depressing sometimes... thank god our unit selection are as good as they are.

I think I'm going to start a thread with some of my DBS lists that don't follow this pattern and see what the rest of you have come up with.

See, I love that we have a pattern. I have yet to lose with DBS, even when my opponent knows exactly what I'm bringing. Strong, interchangeable, tools are the MO of DBS. I don't think this is depressing at all.

Another variation I'm thinking of bringing is this:

This is the list I have labeled Standard in my saved ones. It's competent and plays to DBS' strengths. Not much surprise here and it lives and dies by what the Hunzakuts and Saito do.

Unfortunately it doesn't fit in the Assaut hacker, but the EM nade solves many of the same problems that the AHD can.

I was able to get three games in this weekend, all against my buddy's Pan O/Dragao. I ran this in Unmasking:
We played unmasking and I acted like a complete idiot, trying to land E/M grenades on single targets ... for seven orders. Guess how many landed? Zero.

Anyways, we racked our lists back up and rolled for initiative, which I won. Wanting to redeem myself, I decided to mimic game one and go second while also deploying first. Instead of playing like a complete dummy, I used the HMG to gun down my opponent's Dragao and eliminate any other threats from the relative safety of a large building. (My sniper was pasted top of turn one).

We had a lot of fun this game, with my opponent getting to the console, discovering my designated target, and pulping her. (Not with his DT). My Druze fire team then rose from cover and blasted everything in sight. By the bottom of turn two, my team held center field and had discovered my opponents designated target. With my last order that turn, my HMG (DT) kills it dead.

At this point, my opponent is put into retreat and the game ends with me barely up on points. We both had fun, and decided to play a third game with varied lists. The mission was Transmission Matrix. This was my list:
Unfortunately, I got bent over by unfavorable dice in this game. My Mimetism daze sniper died vs. my opponent (who only had a 4.97% chance to inflict 2 wounds). This happened top of turn one.

My opponent made a strong showing, with 5 capped points early turn two. He did this mainly with a bulleteer pushing the middle objective. (ODD is a nightmare when I don't bring MSV). We pushed each other back and forth, and held a 6-6 tie by the end of turn three.

I mainly used Valeryia/KHD in the main link to push buttons, being very aggressive with my team on the last turn.

After much discussion, my opponent and I believe the Core Fireteam needs to be much more aggressive to be worthwhile and win games. I would have benefitted from more fire team AROs and high burst, aggressive, attacks. That said, dice were most definitely NOT in my favor, with several face-to-face rolls being won by my opponent with less than a 10% chance of success.

Additionally, I'm not extremely satisfied with the Peacemaker. The two games I ran him in saw him die to Dragao turn one. He did wound the Dragao, but this was just engineered same turn. I either need to deploy much more conservatively, or find another solution to running this REM. He basically chalked up to a lost 21 points every game.

That said, my opponent spent orders dealing with him, which has some value.

I have almost every model except the Druze that are already on my list to buy for Qapu so I will probaby be doing some games once I get them. I'm primarily using them for an Iguana list on Qapu but I'd do something like this for my core to start:

    [IMG] Druze Bayram Security
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]6 [IMG]2
    [IMG] DRUZE HMG, Chain-colt / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29)
[IMG] BRAWLER Doctor (MediKit) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
[IMG] DRUZE Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 28)
[IMG] DRUZE Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25)
[IMG] DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25)
    [IMG] PEACEMAKER Heavy Shotgun + AUXBOT_3 / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21)
    [IMG] [IMG] AUXBOT_3 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)
[IMG] HUNZAKUT (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)
[IMG] HUNZAKUT Sniper Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21)

    2.5 SWC | 187 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

edit: might end up using the MSR instead of HMG, dropping the doctor. I like the idea of being more aggressive... but with a hacker build maybe not a good idea. Maybe spam Combi+Colt profiles with the HMG and a doc for the aggressive link.

I would usually drop the doctor. The HMG should probably only go if you add the mimetism sniper. If you are set on bringing AHD, I would bring the brawler 99% of the time over the Druze.
