Yes, that's the correct reading as far as the current set of rules are concerned.

It's not a ruling, but a confirmation on what the rulebook says. The rulebook never gives you permission to ignore LOF requirements in melee and Berserk requires LOF.

Then again, I'm mainly the one who brought it up "occasionally" (or how IJW put it) during N3, so I guess my surprise level is quite low.

 

Yeah... simulation-wise I would actually expect CC attacks and Engaged to require LOF, and for attack through ZVZ to trigger on all attacks and not just BS Attacks, but... that's not in the rules, either.
