It's not a ruling, but a confirmation on what the rulebook says. The rulebook never gives you permission to ignore LOF requirements in melee and Berserk requires LOF. https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...-if-youre-in-a-smoke-cloud.39547/#post-400542
First referenced here: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...-be-declared-at-a-distance.39447/#post-398251 and confirmed several times down that thread. And confirmed again in this thread in the post @Mahtamori linked :-)
Is this worth adding to the answered questions post? It was surprising and novel enough to come up several times now?
I guess. Then again, I'm mainly the one who brought it up "occasionally" (or how IJW put it) during N3, so I guess my surprise level is quite low.
Yeah I was just double checking. It's not confusing in the sense that the rules around this are contradictory. The rules are clear. But it does go against what I would *expect*. But the rules are an abstraction.
Yeah... simulation-wise I would actually expect CC attacks and Engaged to require LOF, and for attack through ZVZ to trigger on all attacks and not just BS Attacks, but... that's not in the rules, either.
