It is impressive that they work on the miniature, in the illustration and the concept art they are such a visual mess, the illustrator even omitted them on the leg.
That is such a fantastic realization of the concept art - congratulations. She fits right in with the other canonically colourful characters in the star wars universe - she looks like a particularly demented bounty hunter :) Maybe a bounty hunter that specializes in big game?
Last spring or last year, you asked me if I knew where the .stl file for the Haqq girl with a cocktail was. Well, I found it along with some other funny proxies. Spoiler: link https://cults3d.com/en/design-collections/cyberjunkinthetrunk/proxies-of-the-people-sphere
Thanks! I have no recollection of that Haqq girl whatsoever, but that's indeed a cool stl! Might check it out :) As for everyone else, thank you so much for your nice comments! Really appreciate all of them :) I painted up some more Haqq while the forums were down – two Naffatûn. With the template changes of N5, I feel a Naffatûn Lt and a decoy have become valid alternatives for lists where I can't afford the 15pt Ghulam Lt. Tried them out in a game where they luckily had to do nothing but look great on a table, but I feel the Flamethrowers and BTS3 might come in handy one day... I wanted them to look noticeably different from my Ghulam, but finding suitable Sith-references is becoming harder and harder... Wookiepedia however tells me that Mandalorian Super Commandos were serving Darth Maul (Sith connection – check) and were known for using flamethrowers (weapon connection – check). So I went with that :)
Thanks! I keep playing Ramah Taskforce, so I keep trying out new profiles. In this case, I want to find out if Ramah's much-maligned defensive problem might be remedied by this lady: The funny thing about her: She is just sooo much taller than my old N2 Janissary. It's why I started calling her Brienne of Tarth.
Here's another mini I recently painted for my Ramah Taskforce – the third Nahab: I never thought I needed all three Nahabs until N5 gave them Decoy (2). Which is cool, because now I get to put all three Nahab models on the table everytime I field one. However, I still don't think I'll ever run the Red Fury, so instead I converted her again into an all-purpose loadout. Now that they truly slap in CC as well, I wanted a model that reflected that, so she got a lightsaber and some fancy OSL. Hope you like her :) Finally, here's the trio:
Thanks :) The Star Wars crossover project continues! With my RTF basically complete, however, it's time to go all in on my second favorite Haqqislam sectorial: Qapu Khalqi. While I already have all the relevant old sculpts (and some new), I wanted to paint up the new additions that came with the Reinforcement releases for a long time. Now I'm finally managing to get around to them, which means: It's finding-suitable-references time! The problem is, I am not actually a huge Star Wars nerd, so I have to go looking for these. With my RTF having already exhausted most if not all direct Sith references, I decided to take Qapu Khalqi in a bit of a different direction. Since QK is the space pirate faction, why not lean fully into the "pirates, smugglers, and just general seedy underworld kind of people" theme rather than the "objectively bad guys because Sith" theme? Anything with a nautical theme was also welcomed, since QK is kinda the Haqqislam navy. And so, for the first crossover, I present my Sekban as Coastal Defender Stormtroopers. I actually didn't have to look these up, I already knew I wanted this reference from the get-go since Sekban actually look almost identical to these guys: As you can see, I also converted the Red Fury Sekban into a Boarding Shotgun, because the most common loadout I'm going to run is the Doctor.
Really wish I could see your latest updates! Site doesn't like to display for my region - silly rulings.
You can always check out my Instagram (Instagram.com/burlesford). Haven't posted the Sekban there yet, but most of my recent stuff is there :)
