As the topic says: Can Antipodes synchronize Civilians? A model cannot declare this Common Skill if any of the following is true: It already controls two Civilians in the CivEvac state. It possesses the Impetuous or Extreme Impetuous Characteristic, or it possesses the Frenzy Characteristic and has become Impetuous. It possesses the G: Servant or G: Synchronized Special Skill. Its Type of Troop is REM. It is performing a Coordinated Order, or it belongs to any kind of Fireteam The assault pack is technically not a fireteam or performing a coordinated order, right?
I can't find anything that forbade them to synchronise with a civilian. Secondary question would be : could you sync 1 civilian per pack or per antipode ? I would say 1 per antipode based on RAW (each of them is a trooper) but RAI is trickier
That's still only for Combat Group purposes. If they actually were only one trooper, then putting one of them into a state would put the state on all of them (such as Unconscious)
Ok, I will up my game: First effect of the Antipode entry: All members of an Assault Pack generate one single Order between them and activate in unison with a single Order So all three Antipodes will synchronize (or attempt to) with the same civilian. Every time you try, regardless of you having already a civilian. Sure, you can leave only one in contact with the civilian, but that one looks like looking for holes in the rules /shrug EDIT: Also, they have Frenzy. If activated => No synchronization with civvies allowed ;) http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Civilian_Rules#Synchronize_Civilian
Until there's some kind of FAQ saying you can't, each one could synchronize with a different civilian (or two, depending on the scenario rules). It would obviously have to be in different orders and they'd have to not be Frenzied, but it definitely works.
Yup, also the same reason why Antipodes (and other groups that act like Ghost: Synchronized) are so damned good at looting missions.
The Assault Pack antipodes can sync a Civvie as long as they haven't gone Frenzied, but K-9 Antipodes cannot due to being G:Sync.
Any chance we can get an official word on this @HellLois ? Local TOs argue because the antipode assault pack works like a coordinated order they cannot synchronize Civilians. Shouldn't take too much time since it is a yes or no question (and quite important for list building). Can the antipode assault pack use the synchronize civilian skill?
'Like' being the operative word. They don't actually use the Coordinated Order rules, so this: It is performing a Coordinated Order, or it belongs to any kind of Fireteam Does not apply. As everyone else has said, there's nothing in the rules from stopping Antipodes from synching Civilians, until they become frenzied.
Also, we know that Antipodes aren’t performing a weird coordinated order when they activate according to their rules because they can participate in a coordinated order. https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/solved-coordinated-order-antipode.24894/ I think it’s an oversight, personally, because you get into an unresolved situation if you have multiple antipodes in base contact with the civilian and declare synchronize civilian. Everyone in base contact presumably should roll, so you can have multiple failures and successes at the same time.
