Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. Cardin doesn’t have Fireteam Core and the Special Fireteam note doesn’t mention anything about Core. The best you can do is a Harris. Secondly, I would never spend 2 swc on an LT. It might just be personal preference, but I would find a different option.
Cadin counts as a Wulver so can join any Wulver Fireteam. He doesn't have Fireteam: Core because there's no such skill and it shouldn't be shown on profiles in the first place. Edit: Lei Gong and Krit Kokram also don't have Fireteam: Core on their profile.

My comment about the 2 swc LT and depending on only a single mk12 still stands.
There's some confusion about whether both profiles are able to join Fireteams but "counts as a Wulver for the purposes of Fireteams" is pretty explicit that he can join any Fireteam a normal Wulver could join.

Depends on the faction and list. Generally would agree - but in the context of CHA which doesn't run too SWC heavy, you've got the SWC fat to spare. If Wulver guns cost SWC, then it's a different story I think. What I most like about the Wulver Core over other 'HI' link teams is that they don't have hacking vulnerability, have CC proficiency and they can exploit verticality to keep themselves safer in reactive.
I haven’t played with CHA, just Vanilla, TAK, & USARF, so I’ll have to trust you on the SAS issue. Playing around in Army, I never realized how rough CHA LTs are. Other than the 8 pt volunteer, all your other options are more expensive than the SAS. The Wulver core does look like a heap of fun. Throwing solid 2w models that have that many threats is nice. I still personally would feel more comfortable with another solid gun. Maybe something like this. At this point I’m just spitballing though. While the 5-man Wulver Core is an interesting idea, the thing that holds me back from running them is the total lack of any sort of specialist that can join the link team.
About half the current missions do not really require specialists and you can lean pretty heavily on Secure the HVT.
I personally look at Cadin as a way to spare 1 SWC replacing the Haris Wulver with him (trading 2 points for 1 SWC). Notice that I run CHA pretty SWC heavy taking Caterans, Mormaers and APHMG Greys by the truckload. Moreover I rarely resist the temptation to take Lt Wallace rounding out the Wulver fireteam. His ability to lob smoke nades with B2 on 17s is just invaluable - especially taking into account the shortish range of Mk12... I hope this helps.
