I think Lupe and Dak Wildcards is all the boost they need, aside from dropping 0.5 SWC from the HRL.
Wildcats aren't bad. They are hardly Bolt-tier. Since Iguana is the only unit in all of Corregidor with BS above 13, Wildcats are as punchy as it gets for a super cheap price. Also Engineer and Light Flamethrowers.
Now Lupe gives them linked smoke for easier maneuvering and long range ARO that doesn't cost 2 SWC and Dak can bring them back up while being cheap filler/specialist. What would Alguaciles give them? Linked ML and HMG is always better than HRL or Spitfire and Alguaciles already have access to that on their own and with Brigada.
Unless you were looking to link Wildcats with Brigada, which would be a little silly, linked Engineer aside.

Do you guys not use Massacre much? I find his Eclipse grenades really, really useful against those SSL2 links. A first turn rampage with him and his Jag buddies is so much fun., and then your opponent spends a ton of orders dealing with 3 dudes in their active turn.

Yes Ive always found Massacre Haris a brillant striker. Now challenged by McDoggo.

You might be right about Wildcats. Attack REM in thier Haris sure would hsve been nice, considering their Engineers. And compare Bolts now at least are way better I feel.

It's a couple of builds and is limited to (realistically) a single approach. Also, simply walking past SSL2 AROs (while often enough) often isn't enough. But it's a fair point.

The most recent changes drive even more Jags and Algs as the best cores.

Surely true overall, but manohman an MB link with a doc, Lupe, and hacker in it is nice. If you wanted to put Valerya in there I guess you could do the same thing for less points (as either an MB or "Alguacile" link), but still pretty sweet IMO.

I love mixed links, and I like that the game is going this direction. Were anyone but CB designing this thing I'd have serious worries about balance, but so far it's been pretty damned good.

CJC just got a lot more fun (for me at least) thanks to some evolution in that direction.

That's my main problem with the update and I really hope it's because they wanted to do more than link rules to update the other Cores.
However while Wildcats got relatively even worse than Alguaciles, they still got better than before, and that's good enough to me for now.

I would have loved for Valerya to go into the wildcat link, I am missing the regular hacker in the Wildcat link for years now. I just love the idea of a MI link support Rems, and A regular Hacker plus the engineer would be such a nice synergy. Unfortunately you can't have that in any sectorial so far, god knows why!?
Maybe Tohaa can? I have no clue about them. Ah Varuna can. What a surprise!

They used to have a regular HD but they swapped it probably to be more useful. Didn't have supportware at the time.

Yeah I know, that's why I want it back! Iirc they changed it to an assault hacker when they made casting Supportware in link teams possible. :/

So I took McDoggo out, and he delivered.
The biggest change is the order efficiency he brings with his access to assault. Usually action one, you move smoke.next to target, action two assault with MA3 so on 23 vs opponent cc-3. Inflicting one or two wounds almost guaranteed.
Also he smokes on 19, so 95% chance is success

You need LoS so you can't do it out of smoke.

Yeah: Move into Chain Rifle range and watch them Dodge rather than shoot, then Assault to finish them off.

Assault is an entire order skill. With the exception of dive bombing objective terrain or an unprotected TAG I'm struggling to see its use vs move+smoke or move+chain rifles.

If you move+chainrifle and are still between 6-10 inches and they survive you can basically insta-kill them next order and move more than 6" doing it. Normally dodging chain rifles drains their orders but it wouldn't even slow him down anymore.

Fair point, it's just one more tool in the box. I'd still rather have NBW than Berserk but with the Impetuous and Total Immunity changes I've got no right to complain.

With TI and his ARM/W he can beat out MA users with beserk better than NBW.
    Were there impetuous changes?

He dropped from Extremely Impetuous to only normal Impetuous. Given how his biggest weakness in CJC was the fact you can't screen him with other Impetuous smoke that's a Massive buff.

I just dislike that berserk mode A isn't a ftf roll, so you're likely to receive a wound even as you make your hit. With NBW I was either hitting on 26 or hitting 23 and invalidating all of my opponents CC skills, the latter came up surprisingly often. Then again, he's also been stabbed to death by a myrmidon doc before so there are no guarentees.

100% this. The way I describe McMurrough to people is that he's a furry cruise missile who either tears it up in the opponent's backfield or dies like a chump in open ground. ~50% of the time with the old rules he'd leap over a building and catch all the AROs thanks to extreme impetuous. This order change is a bigger upgrade than the Total Immunity update in my opinion.

Berzerk mode A is great guaranteeing that you kill the thing your fighting.

With TI McMurder has solid odds of killing top tier CC machines in 2 orders. It guarantees a trade rather than burning orders on null results.
