I may or may not have bought HB just because I want to use the Ayyar... Being able to use them in Druze would be awesome.
They're lone operatives that work in lawless, unstable, and border regions. They work undercover without an intelligence network. I could imagine one working with DBS if somehow their agendas co-aligned, but their primary loyalty will always be the Old Man of the Mountain; they are a religious troop after all. Just because they set out as lone rangers doesn't mean they can do everything alone. I dunno, it could work as a very complex relationship. The Ayyar would either be be a mole, in a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" situation, or trying to guide DBS against enemies of Haqq. They come from Bourak, so that's a plus I'd rate it as a solid maybe? Leaning towards unlikely? I can't make heads or tails Biggest cut against them is that Aslan wouldn't be able to recruit them, so they would have to approach him.
What if one Ayyar appeared, coat billowing in the wind, just as the Druze found themselves in a desperate situation? Que music and cheesy line.
That would be dope. Imo Ayyar fit perfectly in the DBS playstyle. And this "light" HI would sit nicely in the spot between a Druze and our light TAGs (which are more like big HI´s). Corvus Belli would triple their sales on the Ayyar mini over night :heavy_dollar_sign:
If I thought campaigning for DBS would result in us getting more on our roster anytime soon, I'd be doing it. It's done fellas, we not getting a new unit for a while. Forum campaigns don't work, but private communications with the designers with good reasons for a change presented in a constructive way and done persistently may actually work sometimes.
They worked for the furries (Wulver Girl) and the fat people (Fat Yuan Yuan). But I doubt Druze fans have the mobilisation power the other two had.
Emphasise mine. That's the most pragmatic view on it. While i think the druze roster can, and is likely planned, to grow, it won't soon. Its fun to speculate and theory-craft, but with the book being brand new we will likely wait at least a year, unless there are unreported changes in the book. I'm perfectly happy with DBS, but both since we're not a main sectorial and will likely have a small playerbase, I'm expecting love from corvus belli to be a bit laggard. That doesn't stop Tohaa or Shavastii though, and I think we're in a healthy spot for a while
I have to agree. I love Druze where we're at right now. They're fun and adaptable. Probably don't need anything for quite awhile. But if we don't ask, CB won't know what we want :)
Ayyar seems really interesting for Druze/Starco/Ikari, because he can effectively fake a Brawler/Tanko/Rrriot Haris by himself with Holoecho Lvl 2. I'd love to see this guy in NA2.
You could already do this with Bashis, but sadly you can't fake the Fireteam: Haris marker, so all you can do is pretend to be three troopers standing around not linked. Even if it worked all three would have to be the 0.5 SWC Haris profile, which I can't see anyone actually doing.
Aww, I didn't think about the marker ... that makes it less effective. I suppose he'd still be a decent decoy for an otherwise obvious Brawler LT.
I know how devastating an Ayyar can be, especially compared to the Bashi. You're correct that he can't be part of a fireteam, but he's still an absolute monster. I would be willing to trade the Bashi for an Ayyar, but both would be best. When I say link-able Ayyar, I mean having them, do what Hafzas do in QK.
Ok so Ayyar and Tsyklon for Druze it is! I guess a Lu Duan would actually be the the combination of both in one unit. :D
I wonder if they'll get Tunguskan troops, and that's why they aren't in yet. Tunguska has hired the Druze before. And Saito Togan, notably.
