Yeah, and it's not good enough to hit the table either so the Boyg has no hope. The B2 ML Yan Huo saw play in exactly 1 mission, The Grid.
That is probably local, here it sees a lot of action, the Multi HMG version too, I am waiting to filed them myself to see how they perform for me.
Prototype: experimental low quantity with high attention to detail and big budget per unit. Proof of Concept: barebones functional, showcasing or testing a few selected features while neglecting details in other areas Mass Production: cutting corners and streamlining, sacrificing some performance where necessary to make the final product cheaper. I think you're mixing something up here. A prototype is generally higher quality than the finished product, although excessively expensive as a tradeoff.
Got my first game in with the hacker list last night on TTS Quick battle report: Cryogenics Pan-O vs Druze My opponent won the Lt roll. deploys a pure core with brawler sniper, a triphammer, duo of Valeria and bulleteer spitfire, a clipper, a sierra, fugazi, A midfield camo and regular deploying one yuan yuan on the table for smoke. There's one empty slot I'm assuming has a 2nd yuan yuan in it. The looming 2nd yuan yuan made my deployment phase take a while. I know my opponent to be pretty good with them. the triphammer is at the end of a lane far from the msv sniper core. I stack the beast hunter and bulleteer on it. Crock man is my reserve who sneaks close to the opponents camo. Their turn 1 drop smoke on sniper and shoots at the F-13, It takes that order. Valeria and the bulleteer in their group 2 move up, shoot the bolt who was out looking at a board edge. Drop a pitcher on the rem racer and evo. Druze KHD kills the rem racer. The trip hammer takes out the beast hunter, using both flammenspears, ignoring the bulleteer shot, Procedes to advance on the bulleteer. takes 2 wounds on the way from bulleteer and AP mine, gets posessed on the order it kills the bulleteer. Evo bot is isolated by Valeria from group 2. My turn 1 I run the posessed trip hammer at their F-13. Trip hammer goes unconscious. crockman activates. Opponent must have been afraid of it. Declares discover with the hunzakut and hold with the f-13 turret. I'm out of line of sight of the hunzakut at the end of the order so crock shoots at the turret. order to come to the corner out of LOS of the hunzakut and place a mine in LOS of them. Crock then takes out the sierra, and is in the best spot to take on the MSV sniper, (in the snipers 0 band) and wins that fight of 3 on 12s vs 2 on 12s. The hunzakut chooses to make no moves. staying as an ARO threat instead of attempting to dodge the mine. Guarda spitfire moves up to shoot at the druze marksman rifle. the auxbot moves up on the Hunzakut same order the guarda gets lof on the druze. The hunz lays template on the bot, dies to the mine and guarda wins the face to face against the druz. KOJ and hexa move into position to press buttons later. Their turn 2- First yuan yuan uses its impetuous, throws smoke dodge against 2 aros and wins. leverages the chain rifle on the crock when the smoke clears. 2nd yuan yuan tries the drop to threaten my clipper but fails. They moved back valeria and the bulleteer, isolating a fugazi on the way to put a pitcher on the guarda. Then try to imobilize it. Guarda passes the reset. The humble brawler rifle ends up doing the Guarda in with gun. My turn 2- move the isolated fugazi with its one order who will take a hack and a shot from the bulleteer to throw stun on the yuan yuan locking my crock down. It gets imobilized at the end of it but the Yuan Yuan is stunned. Crock procedes to get an angle on valeria passing the face to face against her hacking attack (crock is under the pitcher now) then just goes off, kills the stunned yuan yuan, the brawler that killed the guarda, the clipper, and has a gun on the last yuan yuan. Their turn 3- yuan yuan impetuouses at the crock. crock misses the one shot, the yuan yuan gets down smoke, crock dodges behind the wall against the yuan yuan's move-move, then it gets into a close combat fight. Crock is a true hero and rolls a hit in CC against the yuan yuan and takes it out. he finally goes down from a burst from opponents bulleteer. Druze KHD takes shots climbing a roof with an objective in a hail Mary. At the end of the orders manages to put a wound on the KOJ and press the button. No HVT in the coffin. My turn 3- just pressing buttons. The KoJ presses 1, no hvt, then walks to the other. on my side. on the last order presses the button (amazing how often that happens) and does in fact find the HVT. Final thoughts: it was a really fun game! my opponent did well knocking off orders, the scary bulleteer and half of my hacker net turn 1. The hacking didn't come into play a whole lot this game, but the redundancy allowing me to get that total control off against the tag was significant. If the KoJ wasn't a hacker there's a chance that heavy shotgun on the triphammer could have knocked it out in the next order or 2. I should have leveraged the fugazi in ARO more. The bolt that was shot in turn 1 should have been a fugazi in hind sight. Crock man FO real good. I don't think any controversy there.
Yan Huo should be better, but for game balance it should pay the points for it. That goes both ways. It's great to have a fluff idea of why things are the way they are, but it should be priced accordingly.
Boyg is getting slugged on points because it's got the flat burst bonus instead of a weapon specific one. ECM Hacker is also charging it about 3 points extra as well. It's just got lots of little extra pieces of weird bloat like the dodge skills, terrain, even more random CC on a shitty CC unit that the Yu Jing unit. Random Shock CCW...
Correct. It's bloated with useless or niche stuff it will rarely if ever need. Making it a poorly balanced profile. Some profiles are just highly efficient at the task they are trying to achieve, others are middling, and some have a bunch of stuff tossed on top that inflates their cost without really adding any value. This is really the heart of the issue for most of Infinity's balance issues. That or unit's whose role just isn't useful in the current game iteration. I'm still trying to make Lunokhods work but Jaguars/Diggers cost so much less for a piece that ends up trading.
Not necessarily. A prototype is a test bed for features and function. It could potentially gain or lose aspects as it progresses.
Which is what I'm saying. A protype isn't automatically worse than the production model, in reality it rarely is. This one is out in the field, so we're probably past the lab stage if it's greenlit for black ops action.
A unit described in the fluff as been a PanO attempt to copy and miniaturize the technology Yu Jing have in their HI as standard has exactly the skills their fluff describes they have... "bloat" It is supposed to be that way, even the miniature is not as sleek as a regular PanO HI should be because it is what its fluff describes it to be. Sometimes I think you do not want fluff or a living world, just hyperoptimized units.
