I dunno. All I wanted is a sectorial that would do my dear Kaplans justice. And WhiteCo is that sectorial with the crazy number of special fireteams they can field. Having only one camo guy – Guilang – makes them rather weak in terms of midfield control, but that is mitigated by a shit ton of mimetism+MSV units. It's borderline insane how much of this stuff is fielded in WhiteCo. Plus one of the best drop troops in the entire game who ALSO has mimetism. So in terms of gameplay, this sectorial actually lives up to the theme of honorable mercs. No camo tricks, no impersonators, no cheap trading units: they just overwhelm you with their modifiers and linked attack pieces, fair and square.
It's great having tiger soldiers and guilang outside of yu Jing. Ordered a ton of miniatures and looking forward to giving it a go.
Also, I can finally afford myself a cheap core with these boys, with a linked flash pulse, a CC specialist, and anything you may want really. ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 1 KAPLAN Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. I was referencing the Muhktar, who are the pinnacle of an offensive Haris, and not just in RTF, but probably game-wide. Having a RF, FD1, and speedy 6-2 does mean they tend to move upfield fast and out of range of easy smoke tosses.
Ramah is capable of having an aggressive core, built around a Khawarij spitfire or Mk12, as well as a Mukthtar haris, who are extremely powerful. But it doesn't have anywhere near the level of defense that WC does. There's nothing like a Haidao sniper or Orc feuerbach in a cheap core. Or nothing even like the Nisse sniper as a solo piece, since both MSV2 profiles are on active-turn gunfighters. And they're not really in a better spot for camo Infiltrators, either. My point is that, yes, Ramah has some of the best aggressive teams in the game. But they also have some severe weaknesses to offset it, and one of those weaknesses is a strength of WC.
While It is correct that White company has a lot of mimetism and MSV, the change to Tactical Window makes Camo, in my opinion, even stronger. With a limited number of commands, detection becomes even more cost effective. In relation to the number of existing commands. and here, unfortunately, white company is not in a good position. Of course, this is my subjective opinion. Maybe the first tournament winners also punish me by saying that I was wrong. But at the current state of affairs, I lack that as a decisive factor in this sector, or generally good midfield defensive play. Have any of you already made lists and played them after n3 or "n3.5"? I would be very interested in your experiences.
Nah, I'll wait for N4. There can be an LI list that just throws aggressive lieutenants at the opponent all day long. First, there is Guijia and then there would John Hawkwood, with Tiger Soldier for button-pushing. You may or may not want to swap him for a Guilang. Jujak to just fill in that SWC/Pts gap, so maybe there is a better option, but a 2W panzerfaust, even if unlinked, can be an effective long-range weapon in the late game. 101 GŪIJIĂ Lieutenant MULTI HMG, Heavy Flamethrower / DA CCW. Just seeing what I can make. So far I like it more than White Banner :( The Haidao-Fusilier core is going to be a staple I think. It's hard not to take advantage of. I wish I could do this Haris in WB or IA. A Haris skilled guy with a good weapon, KHD Haidao getting advantage of the Jujak Tinbot B. Jujak himself is great. Right now I only know of Hawkwood as being able to be a Lt. so I took him. But I think if I can, i'd take a Fusilier Lt., Peacemaker, and something else. Tigers and Guilang is always good. Varangian to throw smoke for the Haidao and whatever. Core FUSILIER (Zhanshi) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER (Zhanshi) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. That's like a punchier version of the Zuyong/Valeria Haris in Dahshat Company. This is a nice info-war fireteam that is also competent in straightforward firefights, features template weapons, and multi-wound team members. But that's a pretty expensive team. I can see a lone Jayth Cutthroat with Red Fury decimating the entire team, but Jayths are a rare sight, at least in N3.
What's funny is that it could actually have Valerya instead of the Haidao KHD! It would be harder than you think for that Jayth since the Jujak is a full 2 wounds, and Haidao is 1W+NWI+Shock Immune. But really the same could be said for many other Haris teams. It's cheaper I think more effective than the below team in WB. I've edited the above to show the figures I'd actually use. SHÀNG JÍ (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Shock CCW. Just a stab and doing a TAG list. The Haris backs up the Guijia with Engineering. The Peacemaker is already out in front of it guarding it's line of approach. Now that I look at it I guess it would be good to "upgrade" the Fusilier HMG to a Haidao MSR and take out the TR bot. But it will be easier once it's in army. I like to do this for my armies because it's so much easier than the overly done thing that CB has. I both like and yet irritated by WC fireteams. I love how You can have a cheap, middle, and expensive team, they have plenty of flexibility. Irritated because they are pretty much what I want in White Banner. Especially Liang Kai being in a core. Yes they may change WB but I doubt it since I feel they already came out with how it's supposed to be in N4. Core teams are: Fusiliers, Kaplans, ORCs Haris teams are: Kaplans, ORCs Duo teams are: Karhu, Varangians, Jujak Wildcards are: Hawkwood, Gromoz, Haidao Fusiliers Core 1-5 Fusiliers 0-2 CSU 0-1 Haidao 0-2 ORC 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Valerya Gromoz Kaplan Core 1-5 Kaplan 0-2 CSU 0-1 Haidao 0-4 Jujak 0-1 Shona Carano 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Liang Kai 0-1 Valerya Gromoz ORC Core 1-5 ORC 0-1 Haidao 0-4 Jujak 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Valerya Gromoz Kaplan Haris 1-3 Kaplan 0-2 CSU 0-1 Haidao 0-2 Jujak 0-1 Shona Carano 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Liang Kai 0-1 Valerya Gromoz ORC Haris 1-3 ORC 0-1 Haidao 0-2 Jujak 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Valerya Gromoz Karhu Duo 1-2 Karhu 0-1 Haidao 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Valerya Gromoz Jujak Duo 1-2 Jujak 0-1 Haidao 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Valerya Gromoz Varangian Guard Duo 1-2 Varangian Guard 0-1 Haidao 0-1 John Hawkwood 0-1 Shona Carano 0-1 Valerya Gromoz I think my fav core teams would be: Get 'er done team: (I wish I could do this with Ye Mao in WB) Kaplan Doctor Kaplan Engineer OR Haidao Engineer Liang Kai OR Shona Carano Jujak Spitfire OR Tinbot Valerya Gromoz You've got a Doctor to keep them alive, Eng to take care of isolation, etc. Liang Kai or Carano for hard hitting CC, Jujak firepower, Valerya good hacker. This is a get it done group. they go out and accomplish missions. Defense team Kaplan MSR Jujak Missile x2 CSU Gromoz To me the Kaplan wins out over Fusilier due to Mimetisim Also Jujak is cheaper than ORC. I'm not sure on who would have the Haris skill but my fav haris would be: Kaplan Spitfire OR ORC (Tinbot Haris leader if he has it) Jujak Tinbot (if ORC haris has tinbot then Jujak Spitfire) Haidao KHD Not sure i'd use but certainly interesting Duos are Haidao MSR+Varangian, Jujak Tinbot+Haidao KHD
I learned that even in a Haris, a well-placed Kaplan outranging the enemy in the active turn is a beast. Slotting him in an affordable Core link makes him even deadlier.
Right now it's a hard decision, both have BS12 and 1.5 SWC, in N3 Fusiliers 18pts and Kaplan is 30pts. But that mimitisim makes a big difference. It's also about what can go into a Kaplan team opposed to a Fusilier team. Being able to take Jujak is awesome. They are almost as good as ORC and much cheaper. Like I said, I wish I could do this in WB with Ye Mao instead of WC and Kaplans.
