With the upcoming 3 new additions to the NA-2 faction (Spiral, Dashat, Foreign) being released on March 27th I think it's time to ask that age-old question. What is your personal favorite NA-2/Merc sectorial? How does each one rank in power ITS wise? Which one/ones has better: unit selection, linkteam designs, conversion/proxy possibilities, gameplay, etc...

I understand that since Spiral, Dashat & Foreign haven't been uploaded into Army Builder personal data on them will come in the near future. However, we can still get an idea or speculate on them while we talk about the current four (Druze, JSA, Ikari, Star Co.).
Place your opinions & comments below and sound off. Tell us why you pledged allegiance to your Minor Nation or Merc Company and what makes them greater or better than the others.

I guess Foreign Company and StarCo is what I always wanted as a concept (even made a post about a foreign nomad company on one of the old forums ones), but as it turns out Druze play more like I wanted them to be. I guess the play style of Foreign Company is not fully revealed yet, and while they have the same Remotes as Druze I guess they might turn out to be similar. Kinda wanted a force with a strong MI/Elite LI Fire Team with some cool Nomad Rems, so basically StarCo with Brawlers beings blue to link with Emily and Uhahu as a Core. The Soldiers of Fortune link with support might end up as something like that, so there is hope now!

@McNamara One thing about Foreign Company that strikes me is the ability to build Morat-like lists with Securitates & Bolts. Both units have Veteran L1 which means you can have an aggressive Lt. bite the dust and keep trucking on. Plus with Hannibal you got a CoC backup as well. I see this sectorial with alot of Loss of Lt. insurance especially when the other NA-2 sectorial either don't have any or only have a single unit to prevent LoL like JSA.

For some reason, some players who started Druze really hate that faction. Is it that the Druze are too weak or are those players just not willing to put in the effort to learn?

@Golem2God I was thinking exactly the same thing from the moment I saw FC's composition.

And FC will be the NA2 for me; first, because I already have the PanO side and wanted a PanO-tied merc sectorial for some time now. Securitate as the base LI, nice amount of heavy firepower from both PanO and Nomad side, I think that they will play very similar to typical PanO, with some additional capabilities thrown in. I hope that SoF won't be restricted to forming a link by themselves, and will be able to join other teams as well. The only thing I really miss in there are Hexas.

Second in line would be Ikari, as I like their particular mix of JSA stuff with Druze and cheap chaff and cannon fodder.

DBS... I like the idea of them, but I see them as too restricted to offer enough fun. Druze fireteam seems nice and flexible, though.

JSA, Dashat and StarCo are, I'm just not interested in playing them.

Druze is a very limited faction and lets face it, without any BS mods, they are too fragile for their cost. Its the same issue minutemen in USArf have.

I think it's more that people don't figure out how to leverage the tools they have. They're an incredibly small and focused sectorial, and if what they're good at doesn't fit your play style, there isn't a whole lot you can do about it.

First event I took them to I went 4-0 at the LVO, after only playing them a month. Hadn't really played them since, but I took them a couple weeks ago to a bigger tournament in Seattle, but sadly only went 3-2. The games I lost were fairly out of my control, some games you're just not meant to win (one opponent needed to face-tank a combi shot, and 2 flash pulses with ARM1 BTS0, then push a button with his last order of the game to swing the game to a minor win for him, roughly a 3% chance, other game opponent literally passed 100% of their armor saves, 13 hits in a row against his ARM1 link, no cover, causing no wounds), but the 3 games I did win were 10-0, 9-0 and 8-0.

Druze hit like a truck and have every tool you could need. If you want to win games, and don't care about what the enjoyment of your opponent, you can absolutely take apart any threat. E/M grenades are a boring gimmick, but an effective one. Tack on a BS15 Dam16 HMG, amazing mid-field coverage, WIP14 infiltrating specialists. Each Druze is extremely deadly, I've caused tons of damage sending in one which my opponent assumes I'm going to shoot it's combi or viral pistol with, only to drop a B2 chain colt wrecking everything around him.

For NA2 I play Druze, Ikari, StarCo, and soon Dashat, but I think Druze is probably the best among them (but Ikari is way more fun) for ITS events, especially when objectives are involved.

The problem with Minutemen is that Marauders exist. Let them mix with Grunts and you'd see them pretty damn often.

NOTE - I absolutely don’t want to diminish the players who beat me at that last event. They are both fantastic players and I had very enjoyable games with them. In the game where I mention the flash pulses we both delighted in figuring out what kind of Hail Mary it would take to swing the game. In the game with all the saves, I certainly had no guarantee of a victory had it not been for the saves, but it did keep me scrambling for more ways to deal damage, which was still an enjoyable exercise.

I think that it'll probably be Dahshat or FC, which is interesting because ostensibly it's StarCo but in practice I find them quite dull to play. Depends on the link options we get mind.

I would say JSA (plus the gardener being part of the reason I started YJ...) they seem the most like a coherent fully formed sectorial. The rest remind me of those 40k soup lists, which I don't find all that appealing.

    Model-wise JSA.

Fluff-wise, I'm not fond of any of the current NA2 forces.

    Spiral Corps by far...
I never evvver intended to play Tohaa...
Barley looked at the list, not a huge fan of the original models...
I Was waiting on Shasvastii and even with a new Sphynx coming, Sweet redesign etc... Every thing I could have ever wanted... That Spiral Corps Box has me putting them on the back burner.

I'm studying them now. Symbiont Armor, Symbiomates, Symbiobombs, Pheroware, the ins and outs color scheme and I'm sold.
I wish Symbiomates looked ummmm... Tougher or less silly... But that's ok I can live with that...

For me it's like falling for a girl you never met...
    Hoping your not being catfished

Druze is my favorite out of the released ones but foreign company might take that spot. Also wanna parrot what diceabide says which is druze are really strong and punch faces with the best of them.

I would like some more troops for them though. Contracted out roles for stuff Druze definitely don't do. There's a lack of non-Saito CC in there for example.

Maybe Valkyrie gets added to DBS, that way they would get a pseudo HI and another CC unit. Not sure how effective she would be without being a blue to link though.

Okay, allow me to Fanboy just a little.

I bought Aristeia! and I really enjoyed it, better yet, my girlfriend enjoyed it even more than I did, to the point she got excited for new releases and asked to see the videos and talk strategies. The moment they announced Valkyrie both of us really liked her style, looks and the idea of a damage dealing 'tank'. So the moment they said I would be able to bring the huge lady to an Infinity match, I knew I would like her army, no matter what.

And then they showed us her statline.

That is a Close Combat beast on Ajax levels. The kind of ridiculously over the top damage that is really pointless and not quite effective, but it is fun. And it's packaged in an awesomely modeled lady that really has nothing to do with Infinity, but looks cool as ice. But to make things better, the shown stuff for Hannibal and Laxmee, plus the list for Foreign Company make it look like this will be an elite force that will be very fun to play.

I wanted to start StarCo, but the list options just didn't click with me, unlike Foreign Company, where I know what I wand to do and how I'll do it. Besides, Foreign Company has that 'A Team' feel where most of your army aren't just badass soldiers, they're badass Characters. This is an army that has the only thing I feel is missing from Infinity, which is personality (I feel JSA has a personality of its own too, but there are few others like that).

So yeah, color me very excited for the Deathball Army.

Actually Steel Phalanx is full of badass characters as well and you can even play them similar to FC, I guess, but I get you: the Aleph Characters in the end are just computers wanting to be characters, while the SoF have unique backstories of there own.

Foreign Company is the first merc sectorial that has actually interested me. The Aristeia! characters are honestly secondary to the sheer “megacorp-hired kill team” feel of the grunts. Tunguska ask-no-questions hired guns and unscrupulous ex-PanO-military killers gives it a great feel. I’m already theming my FC up as MagnaObra private military contractors.

Speaking of, anyone got a little history on MagnaObra besides the stuff in unit entries? The Human Sphere wiki is a bit barren - I can’t even find a company logo or colors.

My logo says it all. Druze rocks! I converted enough druze to have all the profile options available and im able to field 10 distinct Druze models :p + Arslan once it gets out :D I love Le Muet, i love Scarface, i love Saito, i guess i have all i want only with that, and thats why almost all my lists are true elite Limited Insertion Druzes, as for example, 8 Druze + Le Muet + Saito, or 7 Druze + Scarface and Cordelia + Le Muet. In the end, you have almost everything linked so you just have 3,4 places to drop your 10 orders, Scarface and Cordelia duo, Druze core, Druze duo and Le Muet, for example, or Saito, Le Muet, Druze core and Druze Haris in the other example. Apart from that, i have yet to explore non Limited insertion lists, so i know there is still so much fun left for me with them. "We are bad people, but we can be worse" ;)
