The Aswang was named by the Pacific Islander troopers that first fought them, naming it after a type of vampire, CB being a Spanish company probably didn't realise how unfortunate the Anglicised version of the name is until it was too late! It could be that one of the troopers on the list is the Aswang going by its EI/Shasvaasti name. Now, about the Kum...
I really like showed profiles, but I don't know what to think about sectorial table. Some unit AVAs are weird. Tensho experts and Gwailos are AVA 1 and it is very rare AVA for units in sectorial army if we don't count characters (yes I know some S5 HI and so have also AVA 1 in sectorial). I hope it is mistake and their AVA is higher (but if it is really their AVA I can live with it). Other thing that bugs me is that at the first glance only mentors and probably Seeds (if they still have camo on their seed emryo) are units with camo that starts in the deployment zone (I know we can downgrade Noctifers to camo, but hidden deplyment is better). One explanation would be that other units have camo and non camo loadouts, because Mentors potecial without other deployment zone camo units is lower (to mask other camo units and creation of misdirection) and Shas will be worse deception army than TAK and vanilla Ariadna. Maybe @Bostria or @Koni can confirm that sectorial table from video is correct.
On the other hand, the nox solider is very interesting. While bioimmunity is pretty useless, having both stealth and zapper is really interesting. The nox are line troopers with a credible threat to expensive HI/TAG units. While the midfield camo spam might be weaker with Shas, they bring some nasty tricks of their own, including the dread and pretty unique Speculo Killer.
Bioimmunity means that shock and viral don't bypass their seed embryo state. It lets you eat a Mine and still contest a table quarter.
Bioimmunity assures that they'll stay around as a Spawn-Embryo, which might be useful for any kind of area control missions. Stealth and Zapper should play really well together. I'm interested how the Seed Soldiers will work now.
I'm torn. On one hand, the Aswuang was my favourite profile in the game. I hope it sees a return in some capacity on one of the new profiles. On the other hand, the mad bastards finally gave combined army nimbus plus. Hot damn. Dodge my sepsitor at -6.
Some other interesting things: Speculo killer dossier contains mines - is it error or update for them? loadout with mines would be great M-Drone AVA 2 and special fireteam - maybe this is indication we won't have MSV? Nox with smart sniper rifle - basically this is almost today Haiduk so he will be different (stronger sapper sniper?, camo sniper? other changes? really hard to tell. T-Drone special fireteam - I expect to see new loadout with normal missille launcher like in other sectorial armies that have this option. I also hope that Nox troops are not our only fireteam core option and we can still take at least one other core fireteam (Calibans and Gwailos if we consider that AVA is incorrect in the table).
The cutthroats sound like someone you want on your team. Lets hope they are as badass as they sound. I am also curios as to what a Tensho expert is. It seems that specula agents are not going to be a thing.
I think many people (me included) thought that Speculo Agents will be new unit similar to Speculo Killer , but specialised on shooting (something like Kiuutan Impostor).
Something I find myself being disappointed in with the Nox is that I wish they had 0 arm 3 bts instead of 1/0. Feels like a missed opportunity to make bioimmunity feel relevant. It actually feels like a more useful ability on shasvastii if they keep their racial rule the same
While I still question if bioimmunity is worth making your basic LI 14 points, it is more useful for Shas to have. Point taken. That said, Vox are far better than seed already. I wonder what seed troopers will become. Maybe they become an infiltrating unit.
100% better than seed soldier, i agree. They don’t have reduced stats from a basic line troop to still be too expensive anymore. That alone is enough for me
Combined isn’t getting a core line troop for less than 14 points. It’s just not going to happen. The DTW and combi makes for interesting tradeoffs with Vanguards and Unidrons.
