    Against defensive fireteam. The -1 burst hurts a defensive B2 ARO a lot more than a B4 active trooper.

    Shas have the repeater network to do that ? Including mid-field repeater ?

    You can chose two different Targets and therefor you don't lose the Burst.

    Nimbus has a couple uses.

    The first is just as a modifier to decrease the reactive burst of a linked fireteam. This is the 'typical' but also weakest use since while the burst penalty hurts the ARO piece proportionally more, the big penalty to BS hurts the high-burst attacker more. Usually it produces a small advantage for the attacker.

    However, Nimbus also imposes a penalty on dodges from attacks emerging from, or passing through, the nimbus zone (with some caveats; don't worry about them for now). This means that trying to dodge a flamethrower or, say, a sepsitor emerging from a Nimbus Plus zone will be at -6 PHY, not to mention any attacks going back at the sepsitor model being thoroughly crippled. Similarly a Sphinx's flamethrowers are going to be tasty coming out of a nimbus zone.

    You can get around the burst penalty on an otherwise B2 template weapon by splitting your burst between two targets.

    Okay, speculation time:

    If Gwailios are turning into HI, what are they keeping and what is going away? Could we get an HI with Nanoscreen? Are they going to keep doing close range HI? this seems like it's rife for speculation.

    AVA 2 ikadrons, R-drones and M-drones (latter who appear to be linkable) who all have MOV 6 lead me to think it won’t be a problem to cover shas’ own camo troopers with white noise.

    i see, just one thing, if its a zone of poor visibility u have -6 to dodge no? okay but if the zone is zero visbility (which the name implies its worse than poor visibility) u have no penalty dodging? :S

    Yes. It's a quirk of the rules that was done, IIRC, for balance reasons.

    Fun line of thought. Assuming they try to retain some ideas..

    [...] taking part when the Shasvastii methodology, based on deception and pinpoint attacks, is not enough. [Gwailo] have been specially trained in assault and support techniques[...]. Be it on open front lines, or fighting door to door, the Gwailos are qualified to expel enemies from the battlefield by force. Advancing behind the dark cloud of nanobots that serve them as cover, they act as if enemy fire didn’t exist.

    Nanoscreen seems like a big part of their flavor. I could see them taking a profile like a Zhencha w/ a nanoscreen instead of camo, removing climbing plus, and adding bioimmunity. Makes the NWI a bit better.

    Their fluff has always been that they're close quarters heavy assault units. Hopefully thats actually true now, and they get a weapon loadout to match.
    We can probably get some guidance from the other recent large HI to come out. Spitfires, Red Furies, Panzerfausts, etc. But maybe stuff like, idk, dual BSGs?
    I must say I like the idea of a nanoscreen on an actual heavy unit, not just on lightly armoured guys.

    A big size for a Shasvastii makes no sense for the type of force they are. Sphinx is even a small TAG with TO Camo. Size 2 HI I can understand though. That could be cool.

    I quite agree.

    CB seem kinda nuts for S5s with 2.5W at the moment tho, so i don't think its a wild assumption.

    But the Shasvastii think HI are stupid and a crutch of inferior species. I could see it being MI with HI stats.

    Very tentative first draft of a multi-group avatar list using the new Shasvastii profiles:

    Group 1:
    Nox Combi + LGL
    Mentor Shock Marksman Rifle
    Daturazi
    Daturazi
    Gaki
    Gaki

    Group 2:
    Avatar
    Krakot Chain Rifles
    Libertos
    Kurgat Engineer
    2x R-Drone
    2x Ikadron
    2x Imetron

    Obviously too heavy on fighting for any specialist-centric scenarios, the Mentor would be easy enough to flip to a hacker and then trim/change some other elements probably to include something like a Rodok KHD as well. However just to start with this is to test how the Mentor goes as a gunfighter in the marksman rifle range bands, and whether the Avatar in nimbus is worthwhile - or too janky for the cost.

    I don't have a list for Messer yet but that's mostly because I'm waiting to see what the Dazer does.

    So:
    [IMG]
    We've seen Nox
    We've seen Mentors.

    I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think Noctifers, Sphinx, malignos, speculos and shrouded are going to be pretty much unchanged.

    Jayth cutthoats: some Aswang successor?
    Tensho Experts: Ava 1 with special fireteam, command and control piece? Cool specialist you can drop in with Nox?
    Gwailos: now have a lower AVA than the invisible murder tag in their own sectorial so I assume they are going to be good.
    Taigha creatures: please be chrysalids.
    Cadmus and haiduks are probably due for changes
    Caliban can no longer link so I assume they're being re-purposed
    Seeds are changing in some way? decoy is pretty likely but what else Adv deployment?

    We at least know that Cadmus are getting Decoy from the examples in that rule.

    Here's my guesses:

    Gwailos are some sort of Elite Heavy Infantry with wildcard;
    Jayth are badass skirmishers to complement Shrouded and Malignos. Could also be protheion toting melee beasts;
    Tensho are probably wildcards too, might be either a big gun or a lieutenant/coc type;
    Cadmus now have decoy.
    Caliban I have no idea;
    Taighas are S4 beasties;

    I'm guessing Haiduk will get some sort of change. Notice that Nox get the Smart Multi-Sniper too. I'm hoping they at least get a BS12. I hardly used them before just because there were better shooters for the price than him.

    I expect Seeds to be basically Nox with special deployment, different weapons and some deployables. Cutthroats will probably be the second part of Aswangs, with Protheion and forward deployment (Mentors took the "Camo Lt." part). Gwailo's place in the chart indicates either a TAG (unlikely), or a Skirmisher. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd evolve into HI Lite, with 1W, NWI, and Bioimmunity, together with Infiltration. I'm also not completely sure if the chart is 100% correct when it comes to AVA and fireteams. As for Haiduk - I hope we'll see something that will make him a real badass sniper.

    edit: Als, they could refresh all unit logos. The older ones really show their age when compared with new ones. I also miss the days when all Shas had the same logo, and Shas players - good memory :P

    My guess for Tensho is something similar to the Umbra. An elite light infantry possibly to head the link team with a special weapon or ammo type. Probably a specialist profile thrown in. We seem to be getting a lot of these types of units recently (see Namurr)

    The Tensho is clearly just going to be a Ninesho but one better, classic power creep!
