Brawlers! I wasn't sure if I was going to pick up this box when it was announced until I got a good look at the sculpts. These models are awesome! I had already painted up the brawler that came with 3rd offensive, but I think it came out too dark and I wasn't too happy with the color scheme. I stripped the old Brawler and primed and painted them all up together with a lighter and more varied color scheme. Continuing on with the method experiments I made with the Spiral Corps models, I did a highlight pass with the airbrush and just did edge highlighting and selecting rewashing afterwards. I ended up knocking out these five models at maybe two hours a piece, start to finish, which is a new record for me. I can't say I'm going back to StarCo any time soon, but I sure did have fun painting these guys up. Running out of backlog models here before I start Tunguska.
Hey hey they looks nice things to improve - make things on belts separate from belt like thous buttons or poches or knife
I'd like to apologize for this one. I went to Historicon last year and while at the flea market, I ran into a guy selling some 1st edition Infinity miniatures on the cheap. Almost all of them were Yu Jing, which is of no interest to me. However, I did come across this bad boy. I already have the newer version all painted up, but I couldn't resist picking him up with the thought of fielding him as a troll. The only thing worse than getting wrecked by McMurrough on a flank is getting wrecked by the inflatable Lion-O version of McMurrough!
ok this was Called Super sajan Mac Murow - do you get his Dog face form to ? it was in on blister it was hilarious
OK, OK. It's been about six months since I posted here, but I swear I have been painting this whole time! After I finished Tohaa and caught up on all the stuff laying around while I was working on it, I started working on Tunguska. The first Infinity models I ever painted were the Nomad half of Operation Icestorm back in 2015. I picked up a second set of Nomads Icestorm on the cheap from a friend getting into PanO a couple of years ago so I decided to paint up a fresh Spektr in hopes that I could do a better job with four years of painting under my belt. Man, I love the Spektr models. These guys are super pricey, but it's always a blast to pop one of these guys out of hidden deployment in a clutch moment. I guess I got spoiled by Clipsos, but the Spektr models are far more interesting. This guy joins the other three Spektr models that I painted a long time ago when I was working on Nomads:
Grenzers! Not a huge fan of medium infantry, but I love these models as well. I was really hoping they would come out with a Grenzer box with a spitfire, a missile launcher, and a BSG, but it appears as though this is all we'll get. I ran a three-man Grenzer core the other day with MSR, ML, and an Interventor and it did a pretty solid job locking down the board.
Perseus! This model is a weird one. I've only used this guy once so far, in a Haris with Raoul and a Stempler, which was a blast. Always glad to have another Martial Arts level 3 guy in Nomads.
HAZMAT A1 Specialist! Well, OK, technically this isn't Tunguska, but I needed a Tunguska HVT and she was laying around from the Dire Foes box that got me Aelis Keesan and some Combined model I will never be able to get rid of. So, I painted her up in my Tunguskan scheme and she joined the ranks.
o Hazmatslut :) Holy Guacamole grey paint do not like you at all looks like chalk collor selection caind of correct but but this grey is just not your best day
Kriza Borac! Now, we're talkin'. What's not to like about this guy? I have been pushing him around in vanilla Nomads for awhile, so that's certainly not news. It is a travesty that his only fireteam option in Tunguska is garbage, so I guess he goes solo. He will be joining my Beyond Icestorm Kriza painted a few years ago, with the scheme right off of the box. I like where I put the colors on the new one better :)
Puppetactica! One of the best things to come out of Tunguska. I try and get these guys into every list. They are the kind of weird that drew me to Nomads. My only real complaint is that both the pumpkin and the ape are hunched over, so you can't see the most interesting bits from above when you are pushing them around the table. Perhaps I could have bent them into a more observable position, but I am afraid that I would break the paint off if I tried it now. Puppetmaster is an amazing model and an autoinclude for me, whether he comes with puppets or not.
Hecklers! These guys are one of the coolest models in all of Infinity, in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of the profiles, so I've never actually played with them. On paper, they are more expensive camo infiltrators with the camo nerfed to limited camo and the infiltration nerfed to FD1. Jammers are overrated unless you are a Ghazi, and Tunguska has much better KHDs. Now I am up to three FastPandas, but I've only ever used them to great effect (with Interventors) once or twice in years. These guys are going to look great staying on my shelf.
Zondnautica! I love these models! My biggest complain about Nomads was no motorcycles, and now we have one of the coolest ones. There are some really great profiles, too. I've had a couple of amazing first-turn attack runs with this guy. I would kill for a second sculpt with a different weapon as I'd love to bring two but I'm not going to buy this box twice.
Hollow Men. The reason we're still playing Tunguska. These guys were fun to paint and fun to play, although one of them is usually replaced by a dog robot when they're on the table. Does anyone use them in vanilla, or outside of a fireteam?
Not sure. I've seen a thread in the Nomad section of the forum talking about using a Securitate Core-Link with a Hollowman Harris. Besides that you would have to create a thread or ask the question in a current one to get a better answer.
Securitate! These guys are my favorite line infantry models in the game, just sliding past the Moderators. I sure wish they had made a MSR or Feueurbach model, though. I like my LI links defensive, and proxying combi models as giant rifles feels silly. I ended up saving these guys to the tail end of painting Tunguska, and they were a nice coast to the finish.
Nice work on army. I’m a fan of the bright colours and consistent palette. Hope o see group shot soon :-)
Szalamandra! It's easy to save the most time consuming model for last. I'm not good enough to freehand a bunch of fancy stuff on his armor plates, so I just tried to get a nice airbrush gradient wherever I could instead. This model is such a radical improvement over the mecha-potato original sculpt. I don't use TAGs often, but this is definitely one of my favorite ones. I had to dig up my ancient cheesecake pilot model for this photo as well. With this guy, I have all but wrapped up Tunguska. I just primed up a Mary Problems that showed up in the mail recently, but I have moved on to working on Spiral Corps stuff, since I am remarkably close to having all that done coming from fully painted Tohaa. I put my lightbox away when I finished Tunguska, but I will set everything up again when I get enough models done to justify another photo shoot. Stay tuned!
Hey guys! Long time no see. I took a few months off painting and the forums, but I am back with lots of new stuff to post. First, I have been working on some scatter terrain that a coworker gave me from one of the many kickstarters he backed. I was excited to have a chance to get some airbrush practice in. It's not often you get a chance to do some large scale hard surface work with 28mm Infinity models, so it was a nice change of pace.
