There is a new article of making off for Ismail Ishraqi. Sketch studies + story conception https://warcrow.com/blog/making-of-ismail
This was a great article, very well written. It is great when authors have well-defined and well-thought inspirations and don't hide that. Warcrow definitely needs more hype and we can use a few more of these "making of" articles. Also, from the cast so far Ismail is my favourite too.
I'm not happy about the dice at all. I also hope the game is low model count. The starter is 7 vs 7 but I'm guessing it goes higher. But I love the figures the have designed so far.
Slightly larger game sizes than Infinity, they said they're aiming for 15-25 minis IIRC, but non-characters are going to be in small squads of ~3 minis so you're probably looking at a similar number of "units" or possibly even fewer than N4. If you're rolling once for the whole unit rather than individually for each member it'll probably play quite fast with AA.
I like the alternating activation idea. I guess the miniatures in a unit also kinda represent the hitpoints of that unit? You have one/few important miniature in it and some cheerleaders. On the other side, with this small unit size, maybe each model is important? Like a haris with combatant, doctor, specialist? I am a bit sad they do not start with the fog-monster-faction. But I can not wait to see the miniatures for the starter!
I have backed the dungeon-crawler, but I am still curious how this faction will expand in the wargame. For their first starter, they went with rather iconic & safe choices. I can understand that.
