Beyond having to remind you that political discussion is not allowed and I would appreciate it if I did not have to edit it out.

I also need to remind you this is CB's world and theirs the rules about what is and what is not, so any of the myriad controversies that spawned the last few years over IP's ancient and new are both irrelevant and off topic.

Ah, when a company teases the release of a new product and a company representative stifles discussion about its relation to other IPs because it's supposedly "off topic". Classic.

As always it depends on the context and the context provided veered towards political, this is not the forum for these discussions.

As one can observe there was no issue with the previous "dwarfs from other company" discussion.

100% agree. There's a lot of stuff that inexplicably gets a pass here. I know multiple people who have left the community because of it.

Ummm... the braid was missing in the concept sheet. Where, with the pink skin, the face reminds me of Trolls (kid movie).

Indeed, the topic warcrow is not suitable to talk about the knowledge of Spain about the history of the 2nd World War, if you have to flood, go to the fanfic section because I see coming the point goodwin.... ^^

The last interview in spanish of corvus belli has been uploaded on Youtube if you want to try the automatic translation of youtube:

    About WarCrow Adventures
We interviewed Hoopoe and Belén, marketing director, about Warcrow, a new fantasy world in which we will be able to immerse ourselves through their games, the first of which will be Warcrow Adventures, a dungeon crawler.

Here is a fast translation in English of a fast translation in Spanish... I hope the Queen of England will forgive this work. :guardsman::laughing:

Warcrow: The interview of Hoopoo & Belen

According to the interview of the Spanish channel DiscipulosDeArmitage, I tried to make a summary, there are many digressions, or whose fastranslation is not very understandable, so I advise you to see the video too.

How did the idea of creating this medfan universe from nothing come about?
Warcrow exists since 20 years in a way, Corvus Belli started with it, but preferred to turn to science-fiction for commercial opportunity reasons.
This game idea has been around for 7 years, and Hoopoo was hired specifically to create it, and is collaborating with Jesus 'V'.
The work began to be planned 2 years ago, and through subtle touches in articles, Belen tried to give some clues about its existence through interviews.
So in a way, they didn't start from nothing, it was a progressive creation.

How far has the foundation of the game universe been developed? Will there be novels?
Certainly there will be, but not at first, the game will be developed around past events from the background, which will be discovered from a future point of view (like aristeia).

Are there any literary references integrated to the story of Warcrow?
In addition to the game development team, Warcrow has a team of 2 writers who collaborate together to write the story.
There are references, but they remain balanced to not tend towards a single type of universe, because some people prefer more the Lord of the Rings and others Games of Thrones. And of course each writer has his own baggage of references.
Warcrow does not claim to reinvent the medfan genre, but it integrates a type of universe already known by the public, if you have known Warhammer you will not be too disoriented by the type of political relations of the races between them, although there are also elements specific to Warcrow to stand out, for example the elves are not the elves of the Lord of the Rings, with a civilization that is in decline and waiting to die.
There is also the fact of providing a goal to give to each player, a good motivation and positive arguments to collect and play each faction through the story.

Will there be a new original race?
No, but there is innovation. There will be the Varank faction mixing orcs with northern tribes.*
*Edit is not barranco but Varank.

Will the differences in factions be reflected in the mechanics?
There is a common base, but yes there will be differences in the type of skills, equipment or the way of being played. Each faction will have its own gameplay personality. This differentiation in Dungeon Crawler is implemented through the characters.
For example, the guardian will have magic, fantasy magic and faction magic, as each faction has a different relationship with magic and their magic mechanics will be, although similar, different in the way they relate to magic and do magic.

What will be the character classes?
There will be the classic classes found in dungeon crawlers (for example the tank), because the usual classes work very well in groups, and as the priority was synergy, there is no research to create an original class.

Will there be hybridizations between the different races? Like half orcs, half elves in the hegemony?
In principle this is not planned for the moment in the product development, but there will be multi-race alliances in some factions like the northern tribes.
It's not a rejected idea for the future, it could evolve but for the moment not.

What kind of conflict is there between the races?
It depends on the factions and their relationships. Each faction has its own interests, its own way of working. And also, from the point of view of the narrative game of each player.
For example for the northern tribes, they come into conflict with the other races because of the Fog that pushes them towards the other civilizations.
There will be stories around the colonization of the discovered continent, trade disputes, disputes of hegemonic with the hegemony, etc.

Can anyone have access to magic?
Magic has always been there, but some civilizations are more aware of its use than others. Some people are better with its use based on their practice, while others see it more as an expression of the effects of a religious belief. Everyone has access to magic.

Will the fear of the fog be translated into the game or just its narrative?
Yes it will be interpreted in a certain way in the games, not as a mechanic of fear, but there will be a fog and depending on whether there is a fog or not, it will change things a bit.
For example on the cards there is a Will attribute that will allow us to interact with this fear when we play, to know if we are the bravest or not, this will give a bit of humanity to the characters, which will also translate to the factions of the wargame. The fog will be present in both warcrow games.
The fog can also translate materially the fears of a subject, for example by making a wild orc appear against you.

What kind of Dungeon Crawler is Warcrow going to be, is it going to be a classic line or is it going to be fully cooperative?
The Game Master will be managed by the players themselves, so it's a totally cooperative and totally narrative game, which is based on the combination of a tactical board with the narrative component, which is important for the development of the story, because if there has to be a way to play, it's not only the way to play, it's the way the group of characters plays. The game is not designed for one player to win but for the group to be equal.

Will there be a solo mode in this Dungeon Crawler? A solo mode for bad guys who don't have friends to play with?
For the moment the solo mode is not defined, if there is a solo mode, it will be a true solo mode, that is to say that it can play with only one character and with what exists. Playing with the four characters does not seem a good solution for the moment, the game is for the moment only played from 2 to 4 and it is not excluded to make the solo mode, this one is studied seriously to make it work.

Will there be innovative mechanics? How long will the games last?
It's based on already existing mechanics, although there will be some innovative elements, there will be more details in the next Whispers of Lindwurm.
There will be an exploration mechanic.

Will there be a campaign? And how many missions will there be?
Yes. There is no set number, as it depends on the development and other factors like the kickstarter, but basically there is enough to guarantee a good time and a good story for many hours.
The kickstarter version will be like the version that will be released in stores, but the kickstarter version will have many extra things. The Core box will be enough to play with. Nevertheless the goal is not to make a kickstarter that impacts stores and distributors, which means that the goal is not to push the essential of the customer base to buy the game in pre-sale on kickstarter rather than in stores which remain their main customers.

Will there be a smartphone application to play the game?
No, but there will be digital game aids.

When will the kickstarter take place?
Early November 2022, before black friday.

What will be the price range?
It's not determined, but it should be in the market price range, it won't be too expensive so that it can allow access to the market.
There will be a reasonably priced base box, a big piece, and then expansions.
It won't be a coolminiornot kickstarter with hundreds of miniatures.

Will the miniatures be assembled or will they be preassembled?
    Pre-assembled.

How many characters will there be?
    5.

Will the Dungeon Crawler miniatures be reusable in the wargame? And how tall will they be?
Yes and they will be around 34mm.

How many miniatures will the wargame have?
It won't be as small as Infinity, it will be around 15-25, the wargame won't be a super heroic scale battle reproduction.

I made a size comparison with an infinity miniature, matching the size with the bases.
This can offer another vision of the warcrow miniature.

    Yes indeed.

Thanks, that was a gret idea.
As we can see, they've gone for more heroic/cartoonish proportions, those hands are pretty big.

    That might be.

On the other hand - keep in mind the Infinity mini is a human, while the Warcrow mini is not - and dwarfs (dwarves?) may have different proportions than humans...
I haven't paid enough attention to the new Morat mini I had in my hand a few days ago, but it was quite chunky cmpared to a baseline human, too.

That may also be a modification for the boardgame pvc, as opposed to the actual skirmish game models. The aristea expansion models (same pvc as the board game) have bigger hands than the metal alt skins.
