If you are it’s at least analogous as earthdawn was essentially the precursor to shadowrun if memory serves… Agreed. I’m quite looking forward to seeing everything as it turns up.
Can confirm this as an issue. Love the amount of info but there are quite a few bugs in the modiphius system. Same here, thought the vid was good fun but fit the games I’m hoping for something newer but that instils a sense of nostalgia. (I know this is essentially an oxymoronic statement but sue me).
Nice video. Mostly information we already had but I like the atmosphere it's tryin to sell. Magic, mysterious fog etc ... I hope it won't be a super dark univers. How did they do the background if it wasn't green screen as they say in commentary ? Black screen with smoke and green lights ?
I enjoyed the video and am hopeful we'll see some art soon. I'm really excited to learn more about the game, it's system, lore, and aesthetic.
One thing I took from the video, not exactly sure from where, is that CB is trying for less complexity than with Infinity. Infinity draws people in with great miniatures, cool setting and different rules but can be off putting for those that aren’t ready to invest. All new releases that CB has done is trying to lessen complexity both with new, lighter games, SKUs and the new Fireteam rules as an example from Infinity. I think it would be a problem if Warcrow demands as much headspace as Infinity. Hopefully it has some cool and original rules and setting while being a “casual” game.
The background seems to be a fabric and the rest should be Premiere/After Effect or similar products.
Definitely agree here, especially your last point. Aristeia! For example, Doesn’t require as much headspace as Infinity but it can be a chore to learn with newer players especially if you have a large number of the characters. I hope the fantasy dungeon crawler and Wargame keep things more casual. Sometimes you don’t want a completely cerebral game, sometimes you just wanna go punch that dragon and steal its gold.
Amusingly, my D&D DM wanted to try the Infinity RPG, and I'd never heard of Infinity before it. Game had a lot of flaws, system isn't really that great compared to others anyway, and there were just some systems entirely missing. It was great for background, but a lot of the sourcebooks really felt like some college kid stretching an essay's word count. I was working on a list of tweaks/ fixes, but the game ended so I put it to the side. I've also gotten Elder Scrolls game from them, made decent but needs fixes. Got the Dishonored d20 RPG, nicely laid out, but just not developed well. But hey, it got me into Infinity (which, granted, led me to playing Age of Sigmar when I couldn't find any games, but still!) and I'm trying to convert some other folks to get into N4/Code1 also. It was amusing enough, seemed a bit amateurish, sure, but since the jokes about the updates being filmed in CB's kitchen have gone back quite a while, that seems to fit CB just fine. She seemed to enjoy herself and that's half the fun with CB really.
New game doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the old range, but I'd say a 25mm round is a good bet.
From Mayacast ep. 362, 1:09:18, Tom said "Activations are NOT dependent on number of models". Elite Army Yay!
Don't remember if a "Tengu Creature" Race (not necessarly Japanese Yokai Supernaturals of the Mountain Spirits; maybe are just "Big Humanoid Birds") has been officially dismissed (or confirmed ?) as part & parcel of "Warcrow Universe". . . Reread some of the old posts, but could have been just Jokes about "Corvus Belli" and "War Crow" assonances obviously (also how they would be called? "Battle Ravens"?? "Armiger Corvidae"??? "Corax Army" ????). . . . .
Well, we could as well "Flood" the Fanart Section of good "Raven People Fantasy Warriors" (that could, in a pinch, work also as "Aristeia Fantasy Skins" or "Weird Disguise Holograms" for Infinity Paratroopers and see if CB Staff like these ideas. . .
I'd like that. An Avian race would be something I'd like to play in Warcrow. It would fit the company and the setting's name.
I'd like that too. I like the Tengu from Bushido that were mentioned earlier, and something more corvian would be very cool.
Maybe in the long run. But first the major classic races would be good. I would rather see more non-humanoid stuff in Infinity. At the moment it seems the endless universe is all humanoid.
