Warcor, Nisse and Kunai Ninja.

Discussion in 'White Company' started by Pettynyt Pelaaja, Dec 29, 2021.

  1. They are troops that I have not seen anyone use in WC, are they really so useless in this army?

The Kunai is not good sadly. I havent seen it used in any games, white company or other, since its release.

Nisse has several good profiles and i have seen bouth the HMg and sniper used in white company. The luxery «problem» is the flexible link options in white company. You have ton of options and nisse can not get into a link. If i want a sniper its usually the haidao, and for HMg the Orc.

Warcor is great. I use him to fill out the points in the list. If I can get a cheap regular order in, I usually do that instead, like a fugazi or varangia.

  3. And what opinion do the Chaksa Longarm and the Beasthunter deserve?

(Edit and add): I am thinking of using the Minescorp Beasthunter either as a hunter or as a Chaksa Longarm with Portable Autocannon.

I think they all have a niche, just maybe maybe not enough of one to see regular use.

The Kunai SMMR is a reasonable gunfighter. FD4", Mimetism-3, and surprise attack with an excellent 8-24" range and means you can often drop opponents to -12 as you can get into the +0 band of snipers, HMGs, rifles, missile launchers, etc. Burst 3 makes up for BS11 and if they get close the Kunai is pretty solid in melee. Hidden Deployment also doesn't telegraph them in the same way as a Guliang or Beasthunter. They struggle against anything with moderate to high armour though. I've a feeling the main reason these guys are in the list is because they were included in Preorder copies of Kaldstrøm.

Nisse are about the best unlinked active turn shooters. High BS, good weaponry, mimetism, and ignoring the majority of visual modifiers. They're a little fragile as MI so not really an early game ARO option but they've been a Vanilla PanO staple for a long time. How useful is an unlinked shooter in a faction with Haidao, ORCs, and Kaplans in Fireteam Cores? An excellent question. Is the higher level MSV and extra ARM worth it over the Karhu's super Feueueuerbach and better Move? Also an excellent question.

Warcors are what they've always been. If you have 3 points and less than 15 troopers you slot one in as a disposable ARO/Discover, and maybe convert it's order with a CT.

Longarms are sadly in the running for worst unit in the game, despite their amazing miniatures. They hit like a freight train but with only Fusilier levels of shooting and only access to Haris teams they'll rarely be accomplishing much compared to other troopers in their price bracket. Their durability is... OK? But not enough to sit there bouncing incoming fire and burning your opponent's orders, maybe if they had a cheap Wildcard to fill out the Haris, but alas this isn't so.

The Kunai is kind of meh. He has competition from others in the force. Haidao and Nisse especially. Also If I'm going to have a BS11 sniper, it's going to be the Guilang. I can get him into much better spots and has MSV1.

The Nisse is not bad. He just also faces competition with linkable troops like Haidao.

Warcore, what else you going to take if you have 3pts left over can can't take a yaozao?

For me the stars of the Chaksa are the Combi-Pulzar-E/M mines and Mk12. They are good for "escort" duty. Two of them with a Haidao specialist, Hawkwood, Gromoz.

I'm almost always going to take the 15pt camo beasthunter. It's a fantastic threat for so little points.

What's your favourite melee equipped model? You could use anything from the Ninja w/bow to the upcoming Yuan model.
