Oh, it sure as hell ain't the XL-ness I find disgusting. It's when they try to shoe-horn that body into clothes far too small for them.
I swear, their voices must go up an octave when they sit down.

Real men don't care what the current fashions are and wear what they feel comfortable in.

Mine aren't skinny jeans as such, I just have skinny legs.

Being a gentleman who can only describe his body type as 'I'm a little teapot' (self-inflicted from decades of biscuit abuse), I can honestly say current fashion trends are making the purchase of clothes an absolute PITA.

    1. There are definitely body types that should not be wearing skinny jeans and slim-fit t-shirts/shirts.
    2. All I can find in the shops is bloody skinny jeans and slim-fit t-shirts/shirts

Seriously though, I've got 'weird fish' brand t-shirts (i.e. traditionally some of the loosest-fitting loose-fit t-shirts available) from 2017 in XL that are a bit snug on the paunch and upper arms, and also have the same brand of t-shirts in L from 2013 that are so baggy they feel like you're wearing a duvet with a neck-hole

Judging by the passengers I see coming off cruise ships every day the "Beach body" is a myth sold by lifestyle magazines.

There's an good chance they might have had a beach body before they got locked into a big metal box in the middle of the ocean with an abundance of food and beverages

Definitely. I usually gained about 20lbs over a 3-month-long deployment on the sub!

Killing time on the sub eating subs

(also I imagine jogging routes are somewhat, limited, and yoga's probably right out)

On a sub, yes, but cruise ships have full on gyms, running tracks, yoga studios, there's at least one that stops here that has a full blown water park on the top deck with multiple slides and lap pools.

Whether those on board make use of them...

Dude, 5500 passengers and 2 slides... imagine the queues. And the wee in the pool.

I don't go on the things, I just watch them disgorge sunburt tourists into the centre of town from our office windows.

If I want to go swimming then the sea is literally right there.

My beach body aim for this year is to be confused for a seal instead of a sea elephant. At least I am no longer in beached whale territory.

Back when I lived with flatmates we once helped a girl move out of the house. By "we", I mean two of the three guys in the house and by helped, I mean "were roped into carrying stuff because all of her male friends fulfilled the politics student cliche to the letter". So Manuel, big, burly dude, occasionally helps set up stages for concerts, grabs one of the boxes, regular old moving box, gives it a heave, get's it to about knee height, puts it down and yells: "<expletive> do you <expletive> collect rocks, Vera?" Vera, smiles at him: "Yes."

We convinced her to repack her rock collection and books to multiple boxes and not concentrate them all in one. And by "convinced" I mean "refused to lug those boxes."

I still pride myself on the fact that my moving out from there is still referenced by my friends as the best organized move they took part in.

There is a great German word for that look: Presswurst. Literally, "stuffed sausage".

    italian word would be "Lonza"

usually it's used for those fat girls who still decide that their legs deserve fishnet stockings.
    With obvious similar effect.
