I just hope there is another ORC/Zuyong profile with NCO on it. While Infinity characters are not broken like GW characters, some people are really allergic to the idea of named characters in special ops battles.
The 19th has come and gone and we still don't have the Army Builder updated. I didn't think that CB would take this long to release what the Third Offensive is giving the player base.
I thought it was the 19th or the 20th. So the consensus is that we will see the update earliest on the 25th?
It still feels forever away. It's only going to leave me 2 weeks to really process the new profiles, try and come up with lists with them and see if I can play a practice game or two before my first tournament with them. I'm glad I've gotten some early games in with what we do know so far though, that's going to help.
I have a tournament on Dec 2nd, I would really like to play VIRD, even if my starter box doesn't come in until afterward. I'm very much looking forward to taking some pics and writing a report or two for some real VIRD play
same here, mine is on the 8th Will be fine, we know the mechanics and have time for one or two practice games
VIRD is going to be insane Been tooling around with some lists and my goodness. The ZC Sensor/Jammer guy for 29pts is a fucking steal! The sheer level of control you can do with this Sectoral, Helots, ZCs, the mixed Fusilier/Kamau link, Croc Men...
If it's not too much to ask I actually wanted to pick your guys' brain on a VIRD LI list. Preferable with a TAG because two of the missions are Deadly Dance and Show of force. I'm struggling to fit everything I want into a list (Cutter, AHD, Killer Hacker, Kamau Sniper.... ect...)
It's amazing that CB can fabricate a bunch of new units that suddenly feel more like PanO than anything else I've ever played. On the topic of the ZC Sensor/Jammer: had a practice game vs ALEPH where Dart wasn't able to advance up the long lane because of Kamau MSV2, so she had to detour through dense terrain on the flanks of the table. She was sneaking up on what she thought was a Zulu Cobra, but it was a Croc Minelayer mine that she tripped over. This broke her Stealth, prompting a Jam from an actual ZC. Jam attempt failed, and she had Stealth on her next Order, so my opponent stabilized the situation. Dart started maneuvering to see the now-revealed ZC... But her moves walked her straight into LoF of a Helot Decoy that was actually a Burst 2 LRL. 6 Decoys from 2 Helots really saturates the table with possible LoF. An opponent has to stay very sharp and very organized to be able to navigate past all of them while also worrying about Jammer, Kamau AROs, mines, etc. It's really nice to to set up your link team in a key area, but use a couple of Helots to fill in the gaps in your DZ, watch our for AD, and still project respectable AROs in areas that your link team can't cover. So now Dart, staring down the barrel of an LRL while also getting Jammed, took a Rocket in the teeth. Once she was down, the ZC jumped through the gap that had opened up in my opponent's lines, and that Assault Pistol did some great work. It's awesome forcing those kinds of choices with PanO. Feels professional af.
Hmm. Just off the criteria you mentiond: Cutter Croc AHD Zulu Cobra KHD Kamau MSV2 Kamau HMG Fusi FO Fusi Fusi Fusi LT Machinist w/ Palbot 299/5.5 SWC If you want two combat groups, you could get it by dropping the AHD and the Kamau HMG down to cheap troops and bulking out a 2nd Group. Alternately, the Squalo will probably be amazing too, especially with Zapper. Being able to Zap an enemy TAG with EM2 while tanking their return ARO is a really nice tool to have in TAG scenarios. Jammer can be a big deal too if you're fighting over central objectives or trying to keep them out of a zone. You could run two Combat Groups very comfortably if you go Squalo instead of Cutter.
