Though to be fair, it isn't like Kamau + Fusiliers are bad in any way In my two games, i really enjoyed deploying the super obvious link of Kamau MULTI, Kamau HMG + Fusiliers... Then keeping a Kamau HMG in reserve, to operate solo in another area of the table. That's a really nice solo unit that can push up a flank more easily than a big 5-man team.
By no means is this optimised, but its a blank list: Zulu Cobra - Jammer LT - 29 Zulu Cobra - Jammer - 29 Zulu Cobra - Spitfire - 28 - 1.5 Echo Bravo - Paramedic - 27 - 0.5 Echo Bravo - Paramedic - 27 - 0.5 Echo Bravo - AHD - 27 - 0.5 Crocman - Minelayer - 31 - 0.5 Crocman - FO - 32 Crocman - FO - 32 Crocman - Multisniper - 38 - 1.5 300pts, 5swc
I've put down preorders and grabbed a few other things - im lacking some of the cheap pieces still, but I can put together some good LI forces based around kamau and ORCs. One that I'm liking the look of is: ORC Feuerbach (LT?) 44 2 (or patsy) Kamau MSV2 Sniper 32 1.5 Kamau Hacker (Combi) 28 0.5 Kamau HMG 28 1 Kamau Paramedic (Combi) 22 Montessa Paramedic (BSG) 39 Zulu Cobra Sensor/Jammer (Combi + AP) 29 Zulu Cobra KHD + Breaker Combi 28 Zulu Cobra FO + Breaker Combi 26 Bulleteer Spitfire 23 1 totals 299 6

I haven't seen anyone here discuss or even recognize the existence of the Kamau Harris. I'm kind of excited about this as a back-up team with an HMG. I'll have to see their exact link options but even with 3 Kamau it's still relatively cheap and effective, especially compared with Bagh
Considering how much NA2 players rave about the Brawler MSV2 sniper in a Haris I imagine the Kamau version will do well.
the Kamau sniper is like the brawler on steroids. I'm very much looking forward to it. VIRD has really really good defensive pieces which is awesome because I love playing board control.
It's fair to point out that this deserves consideration as an option. I think it'll certainly see play, both as a mobile combat/specialist team with a HMG, Specialist and Haris profiles, and also in an ARO iteration with the Multi-Sniper, Haris and "something else" (I'd love a Boarding Shotgun here for covering close angles).
If i can spare the SWC i think the HRL will get a look in here, particularly since it has the SMG as a sidearm.
2 Core Linked Kamau Snipers make most things cry really hard. BS19 B2 Mimetism MSV2 AROs are nuts. It makes anyone relying on Camo/ODD mods sad. Heck Intruder and Spetznaz HMGs have issues dealing with it. Not to mention Discover Shoot on 16s (before Cover) across half the table. Steel Phalanx, Ariadna, MRRF, USA, Morats, Corregidor, JSA, Druze, Ikari.... Most Factions that don't have a durable BS14/15 gunner who has good odds to take down a Kamau Sniper and/or can tank a Multisniper hit. The EB Paramedic is rad. Combi LSG for an AD Specialist is the one place where it's not bloat. The extra synergy to place a pinpoint accurate Parrot to follow up with the LSG just makes it amazing. It's a one off, but it threatens everything. Nothing is immune to E/M but not scared of a close range Shotgun. And for stuff vulnerable to both it's a nightmare of a lose lose situation. Choice in between Red Fury and BSG LRL is the tough one here. Dirt cheap B4 with Shock is definitely something that never goes out of style. For me personally a walk on Spitfire equivalent is the most applicable type of AD there is. On the other hand a higher risk/reward 0SWC Profile fishing for big BSG opportunities and nopposed LRL shots is quite tempting for the price. For Crocs I'd say they live or die with new Profiles. PH12 Infiltrators with X-Visors are good in a vacuum until you don't need them for midfield fights or Specialist duty. Having FD1 Camo and AD choices with more Orders or redundancy is quite tough competition for them. If they'd happen to get Minelayer or a Specialist option for the BSG (or heavens forbid a SMG Profile to go with their X-Vidor) they'll be back in action for the top tier primary choices to make.
Reading all this is just reinforcing my excitement for taking Varuna to a tournament in December. Regarding the comments on here about crocmen, coming from NCA I am very appreciative of infiltrating specialists. It's something I've sorely missed and now I can have 4 in hidden deployment. Combi rifle is still pretty nasty when it's on suppression in the midfield and the opponent is looking at -9/12 to hit. Can I ask what rules you are using for the wild parrot? I've not seen much about it yet. I'm just catching up on the forums so don't know how the community feels it's going to work.
Wild Parrot is inofficially revealed as a Fastpanda that deploys a E/M2 E/Mauler instead of a Repeater.
I think people are forgetting just how good crocmen are. The Crocmen sniper is still going to be quite strong and depending on our hacking game, the Crocmen FO w/ Repeaters is going to potentially be a strong option. I think the crocmen are going to be plenty strong, theres just not as much reason to take all 4 when there are so many other good options in VIRD.
Ok guys important question: Which units can reliably kill Kamau Sniper ? We assume sniper is dirrectly attacked (I'm atm. not speaking about situation when AD BSG does a proper job of killing other link members first). Fiday CC is only actually good/reliable unit to do this job. Any more candidates ?
Big link ignores white noise -6 to shoot back. You have to actually use white noise to advance close someone with Assault pistols or best chain rifle/HFT.
