Not if you life in a rural area which is written of the map.
Here are still parts of villages where you done even get broadband cause our lovely ex state company Deutsche Telekom said no one here wants to have internet so we dont renew cables etc. cause we wont make our money back.
So you either you have sucky internet conection or try to get enough people interestet that a smaller company will do new cables.

So, apparently there's a new Bioshock coming out, too.
I heard about it from a friend (and old CP2013/2020 playtester friend) who is one of the lucky sods to be working on it.

Well, there's been a new game in the Bioshock franchise under development for several years by a studio with no relation to the original devs, that was then cancelled and moved to a different studio also with little to no relation to the original devs, and without Bioshock creator Ken Levine, who've been working on it for a year or two.

Whilst I found Bioshock Infinite to be an enjoyable but scrappy FPS that disappeared into it's own navel during the 3rd act. I'm withholding judgement on any new games in the franchise until I know if they're half-assed cash-ins forced into existence by the publisher or not.

I've not played any of them. Not my bag, tbh.
I'm just not that kind of gamer.

The first one was alright, the addition of powers and environmental stuff was new at the time but that's a mechanic that's in a few games now. Don't think there's too much to offer in that franchise apart from for those who are invested in its lore

Not sure if Into the Breach is still free on Epic store, but if it is you might want to pick it up if you would like a cross between tactical game and a puzzle set in a mix of Pacific Rim and Edge of Tomorrow of a universe made by those guys behind FTL.

Decided to get the XBL Game Pass or whatever it is called as it was $1USD for 3 months for Christmas. I started playing The Outer Worlds, wanted a break, and started Gears of War 4. Gears 4 is, hands down, the worst game in the series. It just...wasn't interesting at all and everything about the campaign feels contrived and convenient. The big reveal at the very end of the game made me decide to play Gears 5, so I am now working my way through that.

In the last few days of playing them, I haven't given a second thought to The Outer Worlds. TOW is fun, but entirely, 100% forgettable. It very much feels like where the Fallout universe would have ended up if The Great War never happened and humanity made it to a new solar system. This isn't much of a surprise as the game was made by Obsidian, formerly known as Black Isle, and is the team that created Fallout in the first place.

I don't know what I will play after Gears 5, but there is no part of me that feels compelled to play The Outer Worlds anymore.

Yeah seen some pretty mixed reviews of outer worlds. Some people seem to love it but seen a lot of complaints that it's too short, too easy etc

Short, easy, not compelling, etc. It's fun enough when you ARE playing it, but, afterwards, it just feels like empty calories. A LOT of similar themes from FO1/2, though, and the same kind of humor, though. I am glad it is getting good reviews and such as I would really like to see Obsidian given a bigger budget to do more.

I've been playing the 2018 Battletech game, which is a turn based game with mechs based on some kind of old tabletop game that you elderly weirdos played back when you hunted mammoths and sabertooths?

Its pretty good, there's robbits and plenty of things that make me go wikidiving about that universe.

Also I found the animated series, which is terrible and also apparently had to be retconned into an in-universe propaganda.

Really, the more I read about this game the more it reminds me of infinity.

The game is soo good, tho. Jumpy robbits, with lots of guns, and missiles, and lasers, and punchy robbits, and shitty robbits that get one-shotted with an autocannon that is very similar to the infinity one in how it works.

I started this xmas play Red Dead Redemption 2 (on Stadia, my PC cant run it. Steam, i want my refund XD)

Wow. Such a beautiful game. But tremendously slow.

This is one of the games that almost made me buy a PS4 and finally i can play it. Now only remain Horizon Zero Dawn

Yeah I got that and played it a bit, got a way into the campaign and it just got hard, like really hard. Got bored and ditched it after losing a couple of mechs I couldn't afford to replace.
Ive got no emotional investment in the universe as never played any games of it before so I don't think that helped. Much prefer xcom for my turn based strategy, just picked up war of the chosen in steam sale and finishing a vanilla playthrough now

Yeah, there's a bunch of trash missions (assassinate and escort) and the power scaling is off from time to time.

I like the general merc work a lot more than the campaing.

XCOM 2 Is apparently really good, but my toaster wont run it so I just enjoy it via let's plays.

BTW, did anyone here end up buying Phoenix Point? Because from what I've seen that was quite the dumpster fire.

Yeah I've got it, it's got some good bits but it was released way too early. I've put in on the back burner and will pick I up again in the spring once they've patches the bugs and balanced the skills/classes more
