No to mention it would give those poor Pan-O doctors a break. They can barely figure out human physiology.
Ha, a fair point. Though I do find, as long as they spend the Command Token to dial the Helpline, they do a decent job... But it's thematically appropriate if they can't figure out (or are totally unwilling to touch) a wounded alien.
Dont remember if it was Tohaa with simbioarmor or something that needed Eng AND Doc to help them...... so maybe we get a Sophotec ?
Does anyone have a comprehensive list of what existing profiles/units will be in Varuna? or at least a working knowledge list? Can we expect any knight love? maybe even something like Joan in there?
No confirmation of Knightly units as of yet. We're looking at: Fusiliers Kamau Croc Men Cutter ORC Troopers Remotes and support box Plus the upcoming: ORC Character Helot militia Echo Bravo Cobra Zulu (hopefully AVA: T, so there can be Faaahsands of 'em)
I'd prefer some type of proof or reasoning why teutons will be in the sectorial instead of a fan website
Have no idea who it was that put them there, but generally it wont be just because, they read it in some official fluff or something (they are doing really good work). If you want you can go by Infinity Tactics Wiki in FB and ask around
Don't get me wrong, if heard it several times before, I just never understood why and was hoping to see the reasoning myself. until then ill remain doubtful, especially because I could see CB not wanting to fuck with those models/profiles anymore
From the edit notes on the Wiki: "Teutons are likely since they're Paradiso and will probably come with the Croc Men" Sounds like pure wishlisting to me.
I think with the amount of general table time they see, Teutons are the most probable profiles that CB wants to fuck with. For what i understand the Teutons are the troops without cube to throw at the CA, so there is not a lot of reason to have them in Varuna, but whatever, i dont think its a HI sectorial or that it needs Knights of any sort.
Knights would be a really interesting addition. Teutons would have to be re-sculpted imo if they're to be included, which doesn't seem crazy likely to me, although I could be wrong. any knights would merely be support and not really a center piece or link team member. I know they probably won't add them but throwing in something like a father knight in a HI light army would make them a really unique army building choice.
The orders that we have left are KoTHS: needs some rework and has no real excuse to be in Varuna FK: he leads OS.... and we dont have them, but can be cool, lets throw they are here to train our guys or something. Teutons: No CA here, no reason to be here then. Santiagos: well...... they have a space fortress close by..... and there is a special lady who works with the Santiagos that i love to have here.... but this is wish-thinking, who knows Can see myself fielding a Santiago with all their ship boarding and breaching fluff and CQB´ish style, but also can be a shame and will lose a lot of the special forces feel if any of the other ones get to the sectorial.
The military orders (the different brotherhoods I mean... Not the Sectorial...) could go in a couple of different directions at this point. I can see CB finding a way to cut them loose from PanO, a la JSA from Yu Jing, or they could incorporate them more heavily into Sectorials. Since we've already seen Montessa in Acon, and probably Hospitallers in Sval, the concept of a military order in Varuna isn't out of the question. It seems pretty heavily at odds with theme we've seen for the Sectorial (literal berserkers with exploding swords and exploding panzerfausts sounds like the last thing you'd expect in the Special Forces sectorial) but who knows.
