I for once i´m surprised and happy of what we saw in the new designs There are posts and posts in this forum complaining that PanO as the producer of weapons has almost non MMrifle and feuerbach and we are the weapons manufacturing faction. Look at the Echo Bravo, think of him as having no extra rules, just a normal Super Jump dude, then look at his loadout with Red Fury and LRL, only with that he is in a completely new design space that all other AD, without funky rules that take him out of the professional feel and clearing that we are the weapons faction. I´m even happy for the combi+LSG option, but the Ragik have something similar. Look at the Zulu Cobra, we know that he will probably be TO and will have some form of out of DZ deploy, every faction has one of this, but they are all limited to Combi, BSG and MSR (this last one is useless and will not go into the tactical bow), then look at his loadout, shock MMrifle, spitfire and Asspistol, give him nothing else and he is already special, fun and thematic. we dont even know the full extent of whats coming but we are into something good here, lets ease up with the complains and demands so to give CB some space now that looks like they are answering our problems, till all Varuna stuff gets public at least.
Agreed, the new profiles that were shown off made me think that maybe, just maybe, CB's been listening to the salty Pan-O crowd. I'm cautiously optimistic. :-)
I would be a lot more receptive to that if N3 or HSN3 or even Beyond Icestorm had shown an inkling of that...
Agreed. Looking at what we know: Echo Bravo: An AD choice with distinctly non-PanO weapons. Hell, these are weapons that are essentially unique for any AD trooper: Light Rocket Launcher, Red Fury, combi + LSG. This is fantastic. Helot: A Camo choice with mid and long-range fire support weapons, likely to be discounted by either not paying the PanO BS tax, or perhaps being Irregular, or perhaps both. We've been wanting cheap-ish Camo for years. ORC: PanO weaponry back in the hands of PanO troopers. The Fuerbach in the hands of what is, after all, our basic Heavy Infantry linetrooper. Not some elite character, or top-of-the-line shock trooper, but our standard HI choice. This is PanO technological supremacy being displayed. Cobra Zulu: Possibly a midfield unit wielding something more potent than a Combi Rifle. We hate our overwhelming collection of Combi Rifles... So having a forward-fighting unit that can take a weapon more powerful than rifle ranges is actually not common in Infinity. Camo/TO Camo midfield Spitfires are pretty special. Having an optimized 1-Wound gunfighter that can hunt the midfield, perhaps using some kind of forward-deploying capability, is extremely well optimized for PanO's gunfighting role. @kanluwen To be fair, those releases you mentioned weren't really geared towards creating new units or new content. HSN3 had quite a bit of new content certainly, as well as the reboot from N2 to N3, and we did see some good tweaks/adjustments made to PanO units during that time. Off the top of my head, the Montessa got a big overhaul, Bagh-Mari a heavy redesign (notably the boarding shotgun/d-charge/N2 profile), the Hexa KHD which appears in pretty much every list that can take it, the Tikbalang scored big rather than simply being scrubbed out, we got Hospitaller + Magister links (which are so great that they basically eclipse all other ways to play MO) so there was a lot of good stuff born out of those releases. Even NCA has been gradually gaining momentum... The CSU buffs benefit NCA more than anyone else who can take CSUs, and I hear there may be more coming for NCA in the future as well. I share the doubt... The examples I showed are, truth be told, pretty minor compared to big swathes of units that could use some help. I won't play MO or Vanilla because of the problems I perceive there... But when PanO gets nice stuff, it tends to be really nice. And given that we're already seeing the promise of innovation in Varuna, I'm feeling pretty hopeful.
But we did also get my favourite 1 SWC HMG in Beyond, as well as our first SMG profile at the same time.
Box of Bolts and 3 in the NCA starter. Plus the Cosplay Bolt (amusingly the only model that has Drop Bears as a physical bit) Plus a Bolt Paramedic that shockingly used elements of the Cosplay Bolt as part of the sculpt.
Do we have a generic wishlisting thread for resculpts/new profiles? I don't want to do this in the Varuna thread...

Sometimes the bolts sculpts feels like big-company logic occurred. "The total ava stuff gets used lots! Gotta make the players happy. Bolts are total ava so we gotta make more." Honestly, I really wanna take more. I've taken 6 before to have a backup member. I wanna use 9 damn it!
Don't forget universal proxy Pistol/Knife bolt! Also, there weren't any bootleg releases this year so..... a bootleg bolt.
I'll be laughing - happily - if Bolts will get fixed to the point people will actually happy about the amount of sculpts available. And I hope we'll see at least one more, with the Boarding Shotgun.
