It's less Combis in general and more ONLY Combis. The AuxBot is automatically interesting, even with a crappy "main gun".
Agreed that this is an important distinction. Only Combi is one thing, but Combi plus direct template in a g:synch pair is a different beast.
I get that they do it. I just disagree with any claim that the JSA/Yu Jing situation demonstrates that they use it WELL. So I have no faith that their analysis, or the conclusions they draw and actions they take based on that analysis, will be good.
1000%. Their use of stats and what they said about it makes it seem like they were woefully underequipped to deal with that data sensibly. Its very common for people to think they are good at stats because they think 'I can do it, I know numbers', and then come to wildly incorrect conclusions. Just like probability, in general people are terrible at it but don't think they are, and so don't think to get outside help or second opinions.
"I did math at school" is not the same thing as "I can analyse statistical data and draw meaningful conclusions". That last bit is tough even for experts with advanced degrees and experience.
Today, while enjoying terrible hot in Roma, i thought about varuna and why this sectorial can't get a koths. Koths is a viable spy and cb can release new profile(i think minis is really good) to give him new Life(even if only in varuna)
Just repeat to yourself that Pano doesn't get nice things and Varuna won't be a disappoint to you when it comes out. ;) Did CB come up with some cool new weapons, skills, equipment, special link teams and your excited to see them in other factions? Repeat after me, Pano doesn't get nice things. So just assume we'll never get them. To steal from another game: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment. One need only look at the Kamau to know that we are going to get bland unit designs. Oh, we got a unit with HRL and SMG thats only really useful in its sectorial. Yay! Go Pano! Generic Pano gets little to nothing yet again. Huzza! P.S. On a more positive note, the Kamau does look like a strong link team. Its like a strong MI link without the weakness of actually being MI. Also, a wip 13 BTS 6 basic hacker with SSL2 from being in a 5 man link is pretty good.

Do we know even if Nomads pay for those Feuerbach or is it another example of stolen tech that CB gives them just because they want without justifying?
You dont play PanO to get nice and interesting things. You play PanO for the right to bitch when everyone else gets nice and interesting things!
In the setting and background it is clear that nearly every weapon your Nomad opponents put on the table is manufactured in PanOceania. The same is true of ALEPH.
I for one am really glad Superior Infiltration Mono CCWs are less common. Honestly it was a huge disruption to game balance that YJ Vanilla had one click removal for Avatars and Jotums next to Kuang Shi, the firepower of a Hac Tao or Hsien, Kanren Wildcard versatility of Monks and the insane mobility of a Su Jian. That almost certainly impacted listbuilding for people facing YJ on a regular basis. You never knew which kind of style they were bringing. As someone who really likes TAGs I would almost certainly bring something else, like a Swiss, against YJ back then. For that sole reason alone I'm glad the split happened. JSA is much more limited in their removal options to make up for that strength. You can just defend better now there is no Kanren clearing your Mines, Hsien clearing your ARO and Shinobu clearing your TAG. It's a blessing for the overall game and YJ had options enough to not care about getting cut back a bit. I do own 800 points of YJ or so by now. Still think they and ISS are pretty damn great whenever I need a break from PanO. It's like walking from a field of grass into a flowerbed, so damn many options and versatility on everything from 5 to 70 points, where PanO is mostly guns only.
They don't have specific listed manufacturers in the RPG, but we make everything else for them... Except these. Yu Jing make these. So maybe they also supply ALEPH with smoke grenades ?
