Now introducing the new NA2 army... The PanO Payroll! It features a special fireteam of Two ORCs, two Brawlers, and a Clipper DronBot. Also, Merc ORCs get two new profiles. One is a boarding shotgun with Smoke grenades, and one that has a multi-marksman rifle and MSV2. Also, now you can link as DronBots you want with any PanO TAG of your choice! After all, it's not broken, because PanO doesn't have it! ;)
I wouldn't be shocked if MMR was coming to Varuna ORCs now that exists and the JSA has such strong PianO ties. It would be a very slick troop.
It would be a great way to get good non-SWC kit onto profiles. ORCs need it less due to their wide access to multi rifles, but that sort of firepower would be brilliant as a way to get good kit onto troops so they could levearage their BS without paying SWC taxes, troops like fusiliers, Nisse, half a dozen night profiles So yeah aint gonna happen, I doubt we'll ever get it
My money is on a slight ORC redesign in general. Akin to what the Kamau got (hopefully without Mimetism). Then Varuna get's special snowflake Profile(s?) on top and a character (because those are pretty much confirmed. That is assuming CB can read their ITS data... if they're thinking ORCs are good as they are because they show up in 30% of all lists that would be bad. Almost everyone has one from Icestorm and as a result they are very likely to see play from beginners as well as anyone who doesn't waste a second thought if a Profile is worth bringing or not. The most horrible list compositions I've encountered so far have exclusively been in the name of fluff and the refusal to prox.
Yeah, let's just say that the speech about Yu Jing didn't exactly fill me with confidence in their use of ITS data but we'll see. I'm not too hopeful about the ORC redesign, but we'll see.
that label was dropped from all fusilier images at the start of N3. I'm sure it was said (or written) that the fusilier regiments come from every world
I really hope fusiliers wont be in Varuna... its just a design space limitation. And if "design time" is a problem, then better not create the sectorial until its ready.
While I, on the other hand, really hope that we'll finally get a Sectorial that isn't hamstrung with a hard 5-troop cap on Fusiliers. Each to their own...
Who knows, prior to the Kamau change I didn't think they would be in at all (because of design space and overlap in profiles). Having (old) Kamau as their "cheap" basic troop would have given them a very elite feel for the counter-terror group. Now, I really haven't a clue. They could be 5 like NCA, or Total.
What kind of redesign ? IMHO there isn't much you can do about ORCs. It's just "generic HI" is so much penalized in this game :( (without Frenzy cheat).
To be fair, it's mostly "Frenzy+Fireteam" cheat. Just so that's clear for anyone new reading. But I'm hoping for a SMG armed ORC Trooper, either with Grenades or have those on another profile. I'd also love to see a D-Charges armed option. Hell, combined all of those and you'll have a perfect profile option to make "Varuna ORCs" shine.
Being able to put an ORC in a fusilier link and having an ORC MULTI Marksman Rifle profile would be great spice for the sectorial and feel quite different from NCA. I'm hoping for that. You'd have the tough choice of a Fusilier or Kamau core straight up, for endless list building fun.
the garuda has BS15 not 14, Spitfires not HMGs BSGs or Combis, The auxbot is the LSG+Eclipse LGL and has Dcharges An ORC profile with a MR or Mkmn rifle and an Auxbot with HFT would be very interesting and different. It would also be a way to run 3 Auxbot HI in vanilla. I mean Id kill for Combi+FO+Auxbot but theres no way were getting someting that cool
