The new Aleph sectorial, with Asuras, is close to be released, Ok, maybe not so close, but no too far, so it seems really extrange to me that they include the Asuras in the new Pano-sectorial.
To be fair, that same new sectorial also includes Nagas, and Dart, Devas and Garuda, Dakini and Sophotects... all of which are already in Acontecimento, NCA or Imperial Service. So I don't think it's unusual for things from that ALEPH sectorial to show up elsewhere.
I agree that it would be completely fine and very lore-appropriate to have Aleph units in Varuna. But I don't see Asura being passed around. Shes' the heavy hitter, one of the star troopers of Aleph. Aleph troops tend to be in support roles, not take the spotlight of the sectorial. Dart notwithstanding.
Asura would indeed be too elite, but Devas? Shukras? Atalanta, OSS edition? Garudas (I still think two different AD troops in one sectorial would be an interesting design choice)? These I can see.
Devas might be. As I mentioned already, I can see Shukras due to lore. Atalanta, maybe - I hope she doesn't get OS edition for Aleph, but if Varuna wants her, take her :D Garuda or Dakini I'd say likely. Rudras might be possible, but there I'd be annoyed since Aleph just got them - it would feel as if they were primarily created them for Varuna. You can have Yadus tho. :-P
Yeh, you are right, but like other says, the profiles from aleph in others factions are a support, not a "big guy", and yes, they are examples of aleph troops from this "new sectorial" now, but that was really long before the comming of the new Aleph's sectorial. Maybe I am wrong XD, really I din't dislike the Asuras in Varuna, but I prefer so much other varuna troops before :) Maybe CB surprise all us... Who knows. About Darth in Acontecimento probably is a way to give a new punch to a old sectorial...
Oh, don't get me wrong here, I don't think Varuna is getting Asuras. And I don't think they should. But I DO think Varuna is getting some ALEPH options, and I am happy about that.
For real, if they give us the Danvas and Atlanta we are golden, i dont think we can or should ask for much more (the Deva is way better for us than Atlanta here, but i really want an excuse to buy her). About the Orc..... lets imagine they pull a Tunguska and say "Orc troops count as Fusilier/Kamau for fireteam composition", then maybe the HMG/Feuerbach will see some table, one at a time, maybe.......
Was watching CoC podcast (more like hearing it at work) and realize some stuff. Most of the talk about Helots being the semi-cheap cheerleaders in camo, because the have militia in their name, falls flat when you pay attention to the loadout, MSR/LRL/red fury/SMMrifle..... 3/4 swc and one expensive weapon. They look more like an weapons oriented Naga than a backline troop. No combi, no BSG, just good mid range weapons. Cobra Zulu has NO CCW of any kind, so not expecting a CC tax a la Locust, witch is awesome. the Hype is real, cant wait for more news next week
Yep, they are really "heavily" armed when it comes to simple "militia". Also while it might mean nothing (it's only dossier, they are often wrong) but the dossier doesn't list a simple Combi for Helots.
I wonder if Helots will have some kind of racial ability aside from Camo. It'd be a big factor in what is PanO doctrine for them. Their weapon choices speak about light fire support unit. Combined with any form of advanced deployment it could get very nasty very quickly.
Yeah I watched that over the weekend. @RattlerNxt 's kind enough to give me a shout out a few times. He knows how much I care about Varuna, so we compared some notes after working the booth at GenCon. I think his assessment is right on the money, though I disagree with his stance that he shouldn't play Varuna... We're very different players, so I'd love to see his take on playing the Sectorial even though we're both in the same meta.
