I’m kind of in the same situation. Doing vanilla YJ after many a long time of ISS or CA. For myself, I’m trying to get ready for the IA.

For myself I’ve always thought of the Guilang as essential. FO for missions with buttons and Minelayer for all others.

I too find it disappointing the Hac Tao doesn’t infiltrate however I then play to it’s strengths. As much as it’s a great specialist, I think strengths lie in ODD and ARM matched with high ballistic skill. With HMG or Missile Launcher It’s going to be in +3 for most of its’ range and the response will be anywhere from -6 to -12. So with this going for it, I like missile launcher. I also feel if anyone it’s going to have a one burst 1 weapon, it should be him! Fireball! Fireball!

The next is the Ying Wu Zhe (Chinese name for Ninja) Killer Hacker is just all around good specialist. Not a big fan of the Tactical Bow but otherwise, great.

I think my favorite troop right now is the Terra-cotta Solder. Just a good all around troop. High BS. Good ARM. 2 Wounds. Great! I always take the FO too.

This sounds like a fun idea. I might have to try someday.
I'll defiantly take your word for it. I also like your profile picture as well.

    *giggles maniacally*

I thought we were using Cike (spoken "Chee-kay") as the Chinese word for "sneaky bastard"?

I'm trying to decipher the lyrics for the song with that name, because that's the only thing that pops up on Google. Seems kind of nearly-standard pop song, if a bit more sophisticated than typical pop lyrics (it's actually got a story and it's not repeating synonyms for sex and wealth). Best suggestion seems to be in the YouTube title "Shadow Dancer". Not sure I'd equate that to "Ninja", while not a bad name I don't think such a poetic name for a Yu Jingse unit is appropriate. Chinese is a very poetic language, but Yu Jing is extremely practical.

Hmm... less sneaky, more backstabby. It's sort of Anakin-about-to-turn-Sith analogy to the martial arts hero, if I understand it correctly. Still, would make for a good anchor for a formalized Ninja training by Yu Jing.

First of all welcome to Yu Jing, glad to see people with interest insted of people complaining.

Respect the Hac Tao, i just could give my opinion. The executive order + CoC backup is what male the Hac supirior to his Pano clone. The free order allow you to always recamo it or doing supresion fire. It looks like well i can use a normal order insted, but that order rises the hac tao resilience, ( i never leave the Hac Tao uncamufled in reactive, and i'm not fan of supresion fire but thats beacuse i face too many muttas).

The normal options for my are HMG + executive order or KHD. The hmg is the main reason to pick a Hac Tao, hight stats + TO the truly Yu Jing killer.

The hackers options aren't bad but you can't go leutinent and you create a weak point ( hackers attacks ignore TO you know), i only find worth it in a couple of missions when you need a really resilient specialist. Most times you may go Guilang/ninja/kanren + Hac Tao hmg.

The missile launcher one is good, but for points range i tend more to pick lunah or sometimes the Yuan Huo.

And nothing more to say, welcome to Yu Jing.

PS: well two things i forget:
First: buy Shaolins, they are very funny and usfull and
Second: truly Yu Jing plays without kuang shis x)

I asked my friend from Taiwan for some new names for the ninja and that's one he gave me. He said it's their name for the ninja. I think we need to remember, in Chinese, it depends sometimes on "how" you say it. I'll try to ask him again.

Another thing that's great in Vanilla is Le Muet. He's they way the Sun Tze Sniper "should" be. For me anyway.

Agreed and agreed, both on Le Muet and with your friend. Compared to English, Chinese is very poetic. Shadow Dancer doesn't come off as a bad translation for Ninja, I'd just expect something that's actually used to be less poetic. Then again, Invincibles are basically named The Warrior Who Is A Mountain.

Marksman Sun is really missing BS Mod skill and is such a half-measure in everything. Half offense, but not Marksman 2. Half negating advantages, but not MSV2. Half survival, but not full HI. And no defensive abilities. If I could make a trade, I'd trade MSV1 for Marksman 2 and Mimetism (ODD is a bit much to ask for, but would be much more appropriate for an MI the price of a Swiss). This would probably be a point or three more expensive, but it'd be close to where a Sniper of his dignity would need to be in order to be ran.

If you haven't read Dee Gong An, the Adventures of Judge Dee, Magistrate Dee has several underlings, most of whom are former criminals he has put to work under the "set a thief to catch a thief" theory. One of them is very much a Cike sneaky bastard.
