Hey everyone, I've decided to go to my first infinity tournament in early December and have been thinking up lists. Missions are a slightly altered version of supplies(holiday themed without WIP bonus for docs), highly classified and frostbyte.

Doesn't suit my playstyle but looks OK.
Whould make the Bandit to an FO and one Zero to an killer hacker. You will hide your killer hacker as long as possible and then the irregular order of the Bandit could be wasted.

Looks good to me, but considering that you will be dealing with Highly Classified, you've got a bit of a hole in your list.

Your only Elite/Veteran unit is the Intruder. It's a good model, but its job in your list isn't to do classified objectives. That said, if you get a bad draw you could stand to have your Intruder running around instead of parking it with a Jaguar buddy in your DZ. In fact, you can deploy your Kriza, Intruder, and Reaktion Zond down on the table and play aggressive with all three if you wanted to. That's a lot of HMGs that can afford to cover shorter, harder to reach fire lanes.

You're missing a doctor/paramedic, but whatever. You also don't have much redundancy in terms of your classified objectives.

You've got the Tomcat for all your Engineer/D-Charge objectives. She's likely to find herself all alone, but it gives you the ability to walk on and do a lot of Classified Objectives, assuming you have enough Orders to spend setting her up to do it without getting pasted.

You've got the Bandit KHD for any Hacker objectives (Your Interventor is not going to be doing any of those, let's face facts).

You've got one Elite model, who is also your MSV dude.

    You've got one HI model.

So if I wanted to stop you from doing an open information Classified Objective, it ain't hard to know what needs to die. That said, the two Zeros provide some 'cover' for the Bandit. You'll have three infiltrated cammo markers and a 63 point hole in your courtesy list. With three markers and 63 points I know you're probably rocking some combination of Zeros and Bandits. But what I don't know is which (if any) of them are hackers.

I'm ignoring the Intruder here because you'll probably be telegraphing the fact that you've got an Intruder. Vanilla Nomads with a cammo marker in the DZ and a gaping hole in the courtesy list means an Intruder, especially if I see you've got a couple of Jaguars.

If I'm looking at this list from across the table, I'm not terribly happy. I don't like looking down the barrel of a Kriza, a TR Bot, and an obvious smoke shenanigan Intruder. I'm going to try to avoid your Intruder with White Noise, shut down your Kriza and Tsyklon with a well-placed repeater, smoke your TR Bot, and peel off your Orders by killing your specialists and Transducers. I don't run a very killy list, and I don't take the tools to get rid of MSV2+Smoke and TR Bots. I've got to avoid those threats, attack your soft belly, and try to keep you from doing the mission.

Other opponents will pull out the appropriate tool for the job and try to pick you apart that way. The biggest issue I see with your list is that you're mostly focused into one set of range bands and you're spread a little thin for the mission objectives. Your list creates lots of different problems for opponents, but they all have a pretty standard response.

That said, I think it's a perfectly fine list.

You could probably stand to lose the Tsyklon. It's giving you midfield range bands with that Spitfire, and you can buff it with your LT Order, but you've got to invest Orders to put it into position, and the same goes for your Kriza, as well as your Intruder if you need him to actually do stuff. Your Bandit also wants plenty of Orders to do its job because you'll be moving into position to get one-sided firefights or do a Classified.

So your list can get crippled by taking out the squishy Orders, which also, incidentally, will prevent you from doing the mission. Once you're down to 5 Orders the Tsyklon and Kriza aren't nearly as scary.

If you dropped the 31 point Tsyklon, you'd have 32 points and 1 SWC to play around with. You could pick up Mary Problems, a second Bandit, swap a Zero Fo to a Minelayer or a hacker, grab a Puppetmaster Minelayer and a couple of bots, add a Hellcat or a Tomcat Doctor, rock a Heckler, a Moran, some Morlocks, and/or an extra Jag or two.

I'm not saying you're in bad shape if you don't do that, but I would consider switching out the Tsyklon for some more flexibility, especially considering that you have Highly Classified to deal with.

Me personally, I'd drop the Tsyklon, add a Tomcat Doctor, swap a Zero FO to an AHD, and add a Morlock with DA CCW. That would put you at 300 points and 5.5 SWC. The Morlock gives you more Smoke, close combat (don't forget Predator), and a Direct Template Weapon. The Zero gives you an extra infiltrated hacker and a way to be a bigger PITA for enemy HI/TAGs that figured all your hackers were dead. Alternatively, you could swap to a Zero Minelayer and add a third Jaguar.

I agree with the comments above.

Zeroes make better KHD than bandits and the Tsyklon seems a little redundant with all the other big guns you have. Even though Tysklons are really cool... I rarely use them as the Lunkvohod or Reaction remote just feel more useful (and cheaper).

If you dropped him then a Zero AHD, Morlock and a Tomcat doctor are all excellent additions. Alternatively, the Daktari might be a cheaper bet as you already have one Tomcat and your most likely doctoring will be the Intruder who isn't going far from your DZ.

Especially for highly classified, that mission is a huge order hog and a varied bunch of specialists will serve you better than shooters.

Why no Moran - to protect your LT from killer hackers?

thanks for the replies! I feel like taking out the tsyklon might be something to try out. Luckily I have a few months to test so any suggestions are more than welcome! The only reason I didn't add a moran was because I didn't have the SWC unless I cut a different unit.

Man, I love the Tsyklon. Probably my favorite Nomad model to play with. Love. It.

The Luno is awesome, but I always wind up getting more bang out of my Tsyklons.

The way I play, the Spitfire is better for me because I tend to hog the midfield. I love the engagement ranges on the Spitfire. I also run lots of hackers, so I tend to get a lot of mileage out of the pitcher. Nothing ruins a TAG or HI’s day like a repeater in an annoying corner.

I also rely on the Tsyklon Spitfire to handle MSV troops. White Noise in the Tsyklon’s Repeater ZOC (which is HUGE thanks to the 55 mil base) combined with the spitfire range bands, MML2 love, and 4 dice is pretty good at dropping some hurt on, say, an annoying Intruder.

The Luno really wants to be in your face, and I play a lot better at mid range.

I take Morans for my koalas instead. I like putting them midfield and immediately setting the koalas and dropping into Suppressive Fire.

Midfield repeater, koalas on standby, and Combi in Cover, Suppressive Fire, and Mimetism. You’re done getting Orders, pal, just sit back and be annoying.

That would be my take for Highly Classified and Christmas Supplies.
With the Grenzer you now have a Sensor included. Furthermore he's perfect to synch with your HVT and to drag it deeper into your DZ if needed.
I swapped the Intruder for the Prowler since infiltration is better than Season 10's Forward Deployment for MIs and the D-Charges come in handy as well. The Hellcat is there only to fulfill objectives and backsta... shoot a supply box carrying troop.

Actually I made a mistake here the Transduktor Zonds should be part of the 2nd CG. This would keep your orders in your 1st CG high after positioning them.

Overall I'd build an other list for Frostbyte and then choose the most fitting list for Highly classified.
This check list might be useful:
