This is my list for our play session on the weekend. As usual, the environment is rather casual and I try to bring something that showcases the strengths and particularities of the faction. We also try to incorporate any known rules from N4, so that's another consideration. After getting my hands on Betrayal and Ko Dali, I couldn't wait to put a Vanilla CA list together: Combined Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 1 MENTOR Lieutenant Shock Marksman Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 27) CALIBAN (Chain of Command) Submachine Gun, Pulzar, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife, CC Weapon. (0 | 29) UMBRA LEGATE Hacker (Hacking Device Plus) Boarding Shotgun, Flash Pulse / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 43) KO DALI (CH: Mimetism, Forward Deployment L2) MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser, D-Charges / 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. (0 | 36) SEED-SOLDIER (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, D.E.P. / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17) JAYTH CUTTHROATS Red Fury, E/M Grenades / Pistol, DA CC Weapon, Knife. (1 | 35) SHROUDED (Minelayer) Boarding Shotgun, Dazer / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) CADMUS-SOLDIER Hacker (EI Killer Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 24) MED-TECH OBSIDON MEDCHANOID (Journalist L1) Submachine Gun, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) SLAVE DRONE Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) OZNAT Vulkan Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 20) GROUP 2 4 4 TAIGHA Chain-colt / AP + Shock CCW. (0 | 5) TAIGHA Chain-colt / AP + Shock CCW. (0 | 5) TAIGHA Chain-colt / AP + Shock CCW. (0 | 5) TAIGHA Chain-colt / AP + Shock CCW. (0 | 5) 3 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Pretty wild (some might say shitty) list on first glance, but there is an idea behind it, I promise. The utter lack of long range pieces makes this a risky thing to try and pull off, but I have a lot of units with FD/AD, so that hopefully mitigates the issue somewhat. I also have a few defensive measures in place to neuter enemy long range AROs. - Mentor Shock Marksman Rifle because I like my LT safe, but this guy can also put some pressure on the midfield in later turns, if necessary. Counterintelligence is also nice to have with this setup, as CG1 will likely be a target for strategic Command Token use. - Caliban CoC because, again, I like my LT safe. Deploys upfield and is a nice toolbox, I love this loadout. - Umbra Legate HD+ for a cinematic experience with superior resolution. Also deploys forward, is a solid CQC unit and can use Cybermask to get to objectives unmolested. White Noise to keep MSV AROs from slaughtering my impetuous units. Again, great toolbox. - Ko Dali Mimetism, FD2 to further strengthen my midfield presence. Can be a nice option for Suppressive Fire when going second and shreds enemy infiltrators in the active turn. Can also snowball with Protheion. - Seed Soldier (FO) for a cheapish and relatively safe regular order that is not trivial to remove. Can double as a specialist if there are no other options. - Jayth Cutthroat Red Fury is a bit of a wildcard. I love his sculpt in Defiance, so I'm trying to make him work here. The idea is to keep him as a DZ guard in Suppressive Fire, where he should be a decent roadblock with MSV 1, ODD and NBW. Shock Immunity means he has decent chances of not dying outright and Dr. Worm will also have a Slave Drone in place to get him back up. Once Frenzy has been triggered, he can use impetuous to efficiently close up with the rest of the force and leverage his modifiers and high B. - Shrouded Minelayer for the Dazers. These things are just really useful and they last until destroyed, so they will be an order drain on the opponent no matter what they do. - Cadmus EL KHD to clutter up the board with markers and mess with my opponent. Drop near repeaters to hunt enemy hackers or near something with high stats to use Morpho Scan/Scavenger and go on a rampage. - Dr. Worm with one slave drone to place next to the Jayth. - Oznat because I love the sculpt and for the smoke support. With 6-4 she can also somewhat keep up with the Taigas, better than a Daturazi anyway. - 4 Taigas in CG 2 to put the pressure on my opponent. With smoke/white noise support and their incredible speed and dodging capabilities, these are great fun, especially with N4 dodging rules in place.
