Hi all, I recently started Aleph. For a comming Tournament, I came up with this list Idea for the mission Frontline. The general Idea is to land 3 units via combat jump (2x yuang, Diomedes) in turn one, kill backline order monkeys and cover the advance of Achilles with smoke. So critics and comments are welcome! Liste 1: Saarbrücken_2018-10-06 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 NETROD . (0 | 4) NETROD . (0 | 4) NETROD . (0 | 4) DIOMEDES Mk12, Nanopulser / Assault Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 43) PROXY Mk.5 (Forward Observer) 2 Submachine Guns, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) NAGA (Minelayer)[/b] Boarding Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27) NAGA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 30) PROXY Mk.2 Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21) ACHILLES Lieutenant Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, EXP CC Weapon. (2.5 | 75) MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 16) PROBOT (Minesweeper, Repeater) Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) GROUP 2 3 2 2 LAMEDH Rebot Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) LAMEDH Rebot Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) YUAN YUAN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 8) YUAN YUAN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 8) PROBOT Hacker (EVO Hacking Device) Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 25) 5 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army
Yuan Yuan, being Irregular, can not be in a Coordinated order with Diomedes if that was your intention. I prefer to use a cheap repeater (lamedh) or pitcher to toss out Whitenoise to cover Achilles. He can handle pretty much everything else himself.
I am aware of this, but thank you for reminding These guys work only as cheap distraction, to give my opponent some food for thoughts. Either chasing the yuans or go for achilles/mission. THis is a good idea, I will keep this in mind!
Achilles does not need smoke, he’s got ODD and BS15. What he needs is either White Noise or Eclipse to counter MSV2+ and get him into his good range to deal with these. The Danavas was a godsend for Achilles, and ensures that he isn’t easily countered by something like an intruder. Personally I run my Achilles like this : Group #1 | 10 Models | 10 0 0 Patroclus ODD Spitfire | ODD: Optical Disruptor, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades, Spitfire, Pistol / EXP CCW (57) Achilles Spitfire Lieutenant | Lieutenant, Nanopulser, Spitfire, Pistol / EXP CCW (75) Myrmidon Officer BSG Chain of Command | Chain of Command, Nanopulser, Boarding Shotgun, Eclipse Grenades, Pistol / AP CCW (35) Danavas Hacker Hacker Plus | Hacking Device Plus: UPGRADE: Maestro, Combi Rifle, Pitcher, Breaker Pistol / Knife (25) Lamedh Rebot Repeater | Flash Pulse / Electric Pulse (8) Lamedh Rebot Repeater | Flash Pulse / Electric Pulse (8) Probot Minesweeper | Minesweeper, Repeater, Electric Pulse (8) Probot Minesweeper | Minesweeper, Repeater, Electric Pulse (8) Dakini Tacbot Paramedic | MediKit, Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse (15) Dakini Tacbot Paramedic | MediKit, Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse (15) Group #2 | 4 Models | 4 0 0 Proxy Mk.2 Hacker | Assault Hacking Device, Nanopulser, Boarding Shotgun, Pistol / Knife (21) Proxy Mk.1 Doctor | Doctor, MediKit, Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Pistol / Knife (10) Yudbot Servant | Electric Pulse (3) Netrod AI Beacon | (4) Netrod AI Beacon | (4) Netrod AI Beacon | (4) It is basically designed to send Achilles to his death. While running both A and Patroclus is usually quite hard for an opponent to handle. It is quite fast and order efficient with abundant MOV 6-4. The net rods serve mostly as a distraction, as the posthuman will jump into group 1 when necessary, but opponents will waste orders shooting them. I like your use of yuan yuan, those are nasty, but I’d prefer the Garuda for firefights.
Id rather put the netrods in group 1 and the repeater bots in group 2, since netrods are equipment and as such you cant switch their order group with a command token. Such a shame pat+achilles duo is so investment heavy for so little gain, needing the EVO hacker so its half your list.
A shame yeah. But it is a fairly useless Fireteam. Both A&P do great on their own, and you get no bonuses from combining them - you’re not even getting the greatest strength of a Fireteam, as none of them are specialists. Instead having an Achilles on either flank, really puts the pressure on an opponent. The reason the net rods is in group 2 is, that I really do not want to waste command tokens on them. Coordinated orders are a much better use of them - getting specialist up field, setting up SF etc. Having them in the second group, ensures that the PH specialist has orders for objective grabbing, but it also allows me to be careless with them - and as people regard them as easy kills, a single net rod can with a few lucky armour rolls, really annoy an opponent.
Hi guys! Just a quick feedback. The tournament went pretty well. I got 2 solid victories (10:3 Frontline against Assassins and 9:0 Unmasking against Tohaa) and one Defeat (3:9 Highly classified against Nomad Bakunin). In total a 3rd place out of 14. Thank you very much for your kind help and suggestions
