valid double tag lists?

I would change hacker for KHD, remove the Fugazi in Group 2, and then replace the pathfinder with Sierra, making it a nice Limited Insertion list.

 

Since I tried it in N3, I used a chance to test it again in N4 today. The Batrep will follow during the next days, but here is the short result.

I played the following list:


While the Anaconda should be the first throw-away attacker, Scarface should be the second wave, while all the other guys are planned for the mission and to clean up what the TAGs have left. They can form diverse links, so if I am going second, a full core can be formed around the MSV2 and it can be refilled, if needed. Otherwise I can form a flexible and aggressive haris around Wolf. The KHDs shall scare enemy hackers away and prevent my TAGs from getting targeted early, while the Brawler HD should be the ensurance against Total Control.

The game was Frostbyte vs. Tunguska and while the Anaconda was smoked up quite easy after doing some damage, Wolf cleared everything else in the midfield, while Scarface was a bit pinned down. Both TAGs never left my DZ, since there were too many hackers out there and even with some higher buildings on the field, you can't hide two TAGs properly, if you are not playing on a full Brutal Cities table.

I won the game in the end, but mainly due to Wolf being a real badass and the Anaconda dropping the TR-bot directly. All units felt quite potent and in the right place, but in the end, you spend points for the second TAG which would have been better spent in some more tools and into some redundancy. The risk of being too visible makes such a list a bit difficult. Maybe you can run that in a two-list format and choose it on fitting tables, but if I don't know how the terrain is set up, I am buying too much into a big risk.
But after all, I am quite satisfied and it felt thousand times better than in N3. The Anaconda is finally playable. Maybe I will buy one now...Maybe.

 

I had a similar idea as yours, but with a few key swaps - namely including an EVO hacker to throw up firewalls on the TAGs, as well as including a Brawler engineer for further support (could also sub in the Doctor here since Cordelia could service both TAGs). The Saito in my list functions as a button pusher and TO alpha striker.

 

Do people like the N4 Anaconda any better than its N3 version? I could see myself playing lists like that, but never picked up an N3 Anaconda because I just couldn't justify it from a gameplay perspective.

 

The Anaconda received better stats, better weapons AND a cost reduction, so it's definitely much more playable now over the N3 iteration. The thing is, I always had a soft spot for the sculpt and pilot, so I didn't need much of a push to start fielding her anyway ;)

 

I thought about that, too. In the end, I dismissed the engineer since Scarface has Cordelia by hand and the Anaconda isn't worth an attempt, unless you want to blow her up controlled. In case of the EVO, I decided against it, since I can only use one programm here and have the TAGs already covered by my KHDs. This may be my old N3-thinking, but an EVO needs to fulfill at least two roles in my list, and here that is not given.

But I like the idea of also including Saito in this list, since he mitigates the problem of visibility.

 

That's definitely understandable, especially with the double KHDs, but remember the Kameel is also a cheap regular order generator and a baggage bot, meaning you can load up on panzerfausts, pitchers, and mines when you need to. Plus, in N4 you no longer have to be in base contact with the baggage bot to reload; you only have to be within the ZoC, which I think is a huge buff.

 

I looked at it next to the Azra’il HMG; it’s got better MOV, ARM, and DAM, along with a tactical awareness order, all for about the same price. The Azra’il has some nice added gear like the smoke launcher, but the Anaconda is getting some big discounts for S value and weakness to possession. Regardless, I think the Anaconda is now officially the HI choice for DBS.

 

I assume you mean the Al Fasid as the Azra'il isn't out until November.

Between the New Annie and Wolfgang Wolfadeus Wolf, Wulver Wolfty Wolfter, Druze now have a couple of decent pseudo HI choices.

 

Yep, I meant Al Fasid. I get those names mixed up all the time.

 

Faster, better armor, better weapons and cheaper? I liked using the Anaconda before, I'm going to love using it now. Since the Anaconda is usually not worth repairing, I'm thinking of rolling Gromoz along with her. Not sure, but can't wait to get her on the table.

 

I really like the idea of running Valerya alongside the double TAGs. She's just so dangerous to enemy TAGs now thanks to the +1B WIP 14 Total Control. And because she's sitting in a fireteam flanked by KHDs and pitchers she's actually pretty safe compared to other hackers.
