Hortlak Janissary. Fielded him for the first time in RTF a week ago or so, but still had to proxy him. Now he's ready to go on the field himself.
One of my favorite models of the line, and you did him justice. Great job! I hope he will serve you well.
This weekend's project was to finish the Micro Art Studio objectives that were sitting around half-painted for ages. Finally completed them all!
Good job! I'm proud of you! Those are still sitting unpainted in one of my boxes for two years as well. I should really get to work on them sometime soon...
Moving on to the heavy infantry this month, I've finished my squad of Janissaries. The HMG version is a bit older and only snuck into the group photo to be with his buddies.
Latest model finished... if you go by points/per time spent, this is the most ineffective model I've ever painted. Two figures and a bike for a whopping 6 points. ;)
If there was a button so I could “like” your entire thread I’d push it. Unfortunately there’s only a watch button so you’ll have to settle for me saying how much I like your painting. The Zhayedan look incredible, I hope mine come out half as good. The bikers are stunning and the old school hunzakut makes me jealous. My first rendition of him was effectively a greenish blob… Excellent work here all round! I am now glancing worriedly at my pile of haqqi. They’ve been asking to get done for ages and when I see stuff like your minis I really want to get started but I’ve a schedule to keep.
I second this idea of liking entire threads. When I discover big old threads with lot of work, it's one of few ways to thanks the creator.
I'm doing a little detour with my Yu Jing from Operation Kaldstrom. They've been waiting patiently on the shelf to get painted... now it's their turn. The Jujak is the first.
They are awesome minis, all of them. Here's #2 (though I'm sure he considers himself #1), the Daofei.
Damn. They both look stunning. I love the nmm green effect you’ve got on the daofei’s sword in particular. Very nice.
I realy like the paintjob, especially as i for myself find orange one of the most pain-in-the-ass things to paint properly. It´s always great to achive the color not to look to thick or dirty.
Orange is a pain, that's true. The base here is Vallejo Game Color "Orange Fire", but it is tricky to get good coverage with it and it tends to get too thick (my colors should be thinner really). My Vortex mixer helps though.
Good to know. I always start with a foundation color, like Yianden Darksun (or averland sunset, how it is called novadays) if i want it to be light and bright, or with a red base if i want it to be fierce and intense. The foundation colors are the only thing i did not replace by army painter or vallejo to this point, cause they are for me still the best base colors.
