Kitsune has the advantage of picking out his target. Maybe just avoid Total Immunity ones?

1 save. E/M is treated as normal ammo.

Total Immunity ignores the effects of a Special Ammo. Damage value of 12 is an effect of Monofilament. Which is ignored.

Shinobu attacking Sun Tze with Martial Arts 2 will be hitting at CC25 and DAM of 16 if using the Monofilament blade. This is better than Knife, although a Knife would still have Silent.

Normal Ammunition always causes one ARM roll.
Which a Total Immunity Trooper could roll BTS against.
Note that you can decide not to use Total Immunity in case you don't want to risk taking damage from E/M or something like that.

Normal Ammunition's crit effect always does one damage. A Zayedan Breaker doesn't hit a Dog with Breaker+Shock, but with Normal and nothing else.
Just out of curiosity - What for? +1 DAM over Barehanded in case you don't want to kill something that is also Shock immune?

Oh, I see, you not only treat the damage as N, but the whole weapon as being an ordinary CCW.
I see your point, but that is not what Total Immunity says.
The rules are only about the ammunition type, not the damage value.
    What happens with K1 ammunition?

If it is the same damage, then I prefer silent to non-silent.

I've probably missed something again, what about crits?

Do we still consider it a hit with ammo type that calls for ARM / BTS roll, and therefore trigger TI and count it as Normal ammo crit?

If not, what happens when you crit with something that causes several saves (one of which will not roll for ARM / BTS)?

    Nevermind, found it.

The weapon itself has a Damage value, unlike other CCWs that have DAM = PH.

That's redundant and kind of dumb, but okay.

So.... Monofilament becomes Damage 12 Ammo N.

What happens if you crit with Monofilament?
Does the phrase '...bypassing the usual ARM Roll.' negate the application of TI?

    What happens to K1?
There the damage is an ammunitions-effect and gets negated,
so you use the damage that kind of weapon usually does,
    right?

    http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Immunity#Total_Immunity_and_Critical_hits

It's a crit with Normal ammo.

For it to work the way you said, Total Immunity would need to specifically mention CCWs and say that they all become standard CCWs, instead of simply changing the ammo type.

That's not at all correct and very nitpicky. Monofilament specifically states the damage value for the weapon, all that would be required would be for the Monofilament CCW to have it's damage value derived from the ammunition type.

The damage value of Monofolament weapons (regardless of whether they are CCW or not) could until now have been listed as * and it wouldn't have made a difference.

I'd say "any ARM or BTS Rolls" does include unusual ARM rolls.

That would result in a Monofilament CCW not having a Damage value when used against Total Immunity.

I'd say it would be better if DAM was just directly written down in a weapon profile, just like it is with any other ammo type.

So can skills such as martial arts buff the damage of a mono weapon turned normal?

Guess not, as MA only affects damage values derived from PH attribute.

    1. Not a month ago.
    2. Not if Monofilament CCWs had PH as DAM value on their weapon entry.
    3. This is still a pointless line of argument.
It is written down. And that's what IJW reminded me of. Prior to these changes I took that as simply a reminder of what the Monofilament rule stated.

If a model with Total Immunity takes a hit from an AP+DA, or AP+Shock, or Shock+Breaker weapon, does total immunity turn those hits into one ARM roll, or two?

It ignores all special effects, it’s a single ARM/BTS roll, which ever is more advantageous to the user.
