Just don't stand the Palbot/Dr too close otherwise they risk getting caught by templates hitting the ARO piece.

Keep in mind that with rerolls from command points, the Trauma Doc actually has a pretty high chance to heal a unit. Ariadna has the mercy killers now.

For me, Paramedics are relevant to me as a PanO player in two situations:

-I'm playing Acontecimento, and the Paramedic is the cheapest Specialist available to Acon Regulars.
-I'm playing NCA, my Trauma Doc is dead/extremely far away, and I want to save a Swiss Guard who got knocked Unconscious.

The thing you use Paramedics in general is being a specialist on the front-line to score objectives and to heal someone close by in case Trauma-Doc is down. The latter though is usually worse as mentioned, as you cannot re-roll using a command token and have a -3 phs which is usually worse than trauma-doc.

Doctors heal people, Paramedics shoot medical stuff into people and hope for the best.

    I'd rather have a re rollable 12 than a 7-11 chance.

But the paramedics are still specialists and sometimes that 7-11 pays off.

Ok, I'll add one more dimension into this discussion - the composition of your list and its order effectivity. If I'm making a 14+ orders list (which usually means about 17 models/orders), I do usually find a place for the TraumaDoc + her bot. She isn't too expensive, so adding her into the list isn't a problem, and she could be quite useful for both medical care and pursuing the objectives. Also, she could also shoot quite well, which tends to be overlooked sometimes.

Completely different situation came when I'm trying to build a single group (=10 orders) list. Here the possible slots for your models are quite limited, and adding a doctor here sounds often like a mindless luxury for me. Also, and more important, you don't have enough orders in such list to spend 3 or 4 of them on your TraumaDoc to heal your model. In these lists, I prefer the paramedics. They'll fill the hole in the fireteam, being a cheap specialists there. If I want to heal someone, I would usualy do this as a short skill during moving the link, shooting his Medikit and hoping for a bit of luck. If it doesn't work this time, who cares - that model was effectively disabled before I've done that and I cannot spend my precious orders healing anyway.

Of course, you could always join Haqqislam and roll heals on 17s.

    I'll show myself out.
