So I'm trying to build a list with a Sphinx that isn't limited insertion. IE; 14+ orders. The problem I'm running into is picks for datatracker and Lt. I don't have points for an Aspect, unless I drop to 10 orders. Suryat Lt/datatracker? I'm tempted to just run Nexus Specialists for both and hide them. I think if you want 14 orders with a Sphinx you have to go sectorial. So I ran my list above over the weekend for a 10-0 victory against Bakunin. Sphinx charged forth as planned and managed to drop a Zero and 4 Riot Grrls, including my opponents datatracker. The sphinx died in the process but it was certainly a worthwhile trade. From there my legate moved up, turned on my DZs heater and held tight in a building until the game finished for the win.
I thought about playing Sphinx/Onyx, but I've been playing Vanilla the last six months. I'd just be terrible at it. With Xenotech and a bunch of other order heavy scenarios, I'm thinking of cutting the Speculo. I'm noticing it eats a lot of orders when I should be hitting scenario. I could probably squeeze a Shrouded FO and RDrone instead. Also, if you have a model in Spawn Embryo, they could for scoring zones. What if Datatracker in Frostbyte?
Speculo doesnt have to do anything to be scary. Leave her, Opponent will get nuts trying to discover her twice and kill her. You are not spending any orders on her, Your opponent does. Works every time. She is great distraction.
There's also Caliban, both with FD Level 1 now, and Inferior Infiltration. Almost every Caliban has D-charges.
