That one I don't know about, CB hasn't been very positive about the idea of aliens in a 2-player starter box before, just due to the number of additional special rules that beginners would need to learn. (what can I say, I prefer low expectation and being pleasantly surprised) But I could totally see Triumvirate as an NA2 box like the JSA. Or Shas, to tell you the truth!
Let me look at what's in the Operation:Coldfront box. Dakini Tacbots who don't get mimetism until the third mission, and I'm pretty sure the remote rules (like the -3 modifier to Dodge, or the Hacker/TAG requirement) are completely omitted. They should have enough experience leaving out "confusing" or "intimidating" rules to fit an extraterrestrial in a starter box. I think the problem with Shaasvastii vs. Tohaa in a starter box is how much of the rules would get left out. You'd be playing without triads and probably without eggs.
At first I thought it was maybe Shasvastii as it doesn't look like any of our core factions, however it does almost perfectly fit with Roul Spector's dossier. My guess is the Fireteam option (even if a bit weird so close to the initial release)
Looks like a left arm to me, shoulder pad at the top right, bicep in the centre of the image. It does look Raoul-like, though as he's a Merc this could also be the unit he "borrowed" his arm armour from.
Yeah, had to think of a turtle shell as well... But the turtles are meant to be an Aristeia team! https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/homebrew-fun-tnmt.26728/ The original comics by Eastman and Laird were coloured as well (I still own some of these). Only the first issues/series were black&white. And the Palladium RPG 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other Strangeness' was black&white as well (got that one, too). The main difference were the masks: the original turtles all got red masks, but I guess that was too confusing for the kiddies, so each got their own colour for the tv series. And if they are called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, then its just kids' stuff for sure.
I think the foreign company is pretty likely. That will be a way to add hannibal from Aristeia into infinity as well. I think the white company is less likely because it seems like all the white company units (or atleast what we all thought they'd be) are in the druze sectorial.
OK, fair point. With Aleph having showed up in Coldfront and having those graded intro rules, it wouldn't be unreasonable to have Shas v Tohaa in a starter. Objection (over too-complex rules) withdrawn. In my defense, no-one in my playing group bought Coldfront. However, it is worth noting that the aliens don't typically sell as well as the human models, so putting two aliens into a starter box may really be shooting themselves in the foot in terms of sales. Remember that when Op Icestorm was released, CB had run some 5k units and sold them all in the first month, when they thought that those 5k boxes would last them the ~2yrs to Op:Red Veil's release.
Do we have confirmation of a 2-player box for Gencon? The previous Operation boxes have all been 2 years apart.
We don't, yet. It's (very) wishful thinking right now. And you're right, a new 2-player box in 2019 would be odd, Coldfront was released in 2018.
Red Veil was 2017, so appears they have stepped up the production of the Operations boxes. It may not be a 2-player box at Gencon, but it is a good guess.
2017 was the Beyond boxes. 2016 was RV (Easy for me to remember as I started right about then and debated getting it to start)
In the last video Bostria said they are planning a big operation for Adepticon and then he added a "lovely box is coming". So who knows.
