    Ugh. Frenzy cheating -.-;;

That's why they're so ridiculously cheap. Could they maybe re-align that ability with what it's actually worth?

Woops; haven't been reading the Kickstarter posts. My bad.

Yeah she's got a really great kit for going offensive, especially at short range. The T2 Rifle and Heavy PIstols are scary, but at only BS 11 she can have trouble actually landing hits with them, especially against the Camo models starting out next to her...

Overall a pretty cool model. A midfield skirmisher that relies on heavy firepower, dogged, and mines instead of DTWs and Camo.

I mean they seem pretty fair at first glance. They've got some pretty scary stuff but they can get pinned down pretty easily and have a terrible matchup vs. other midfield models.

Frenzy actually hurts her for once, losing the BS and damage modifiers is really painful on a W1 ARM1 trooper.

Only issue with the profile if we ignore the cost is that it's another faction with T2 Rifle, but the price is really cheap for what you get since the trade off of Frenzy very rarely matters.
(I've had it matter once - when Achilles had killed a full order group he turned Impetuous so that I could kill him only to have a Mk5 finish the job)

Oh I'm aware of Frenzy being used to cheat costs, but in this case it doesn't worry me too much.

The T2 Rifle is very scary, but BS 11, no visual mods, and no fireteam bonuses on a unit that starts out fighting Camo Infiltrators means she's going to have issues actually getting value out of it. It lets her really hurt things she sneaks up on, and gives people reason to pause if you throw her in Suppressive Fire, but much like the Azrail getting to actually leverage her damage potential is going to take some work.

She's scary, and she's got Dogged as a "get out of jail free" card the first time she'd get KO'd (though no Immunity (Shock)!), but there's no way she's going to go up against the likes of a Guilang or Clipsos and hope to come out on top. Which, if she didn't have Frenzy, she'd be around the same cost. She's also not like traditional Frenzy cheats (Asawira, Sakiel), as without a fireteam to negate the frenzy, or a DTW to skip face-to-face rolls altogether, losing cover is actually a pretty big deal for her.

So she's a cool offensive unit that hits harder than she should, but she's got some issues actually utilizing that hitting power and some clear counters in shock ammo and mimetism. Seems fine. Good, but fine.

TBH I think this is a situation where Frenzy cheating is appropriate. That's non mimetic non camo BS11 guy paying for two different upgraded guns and the usual Morat junk on top like Veteran. They'd be total arse without the cost reduction, and frankly they're competing with variety of very good warband/camo skirmishers in their faction already. It's a hard ask to pick these over the Witch Soldiers or variety of Shas offerings.

Could say that for almost any unit in the price category. Why should Zhanying be the same price when they have barely better stats and start at home? Shouldn't Wildcats get Frenzy so they can be more appropriately priced around 15? Neither are even remotely as good in melee to boot.

Whether it is appropriate ability to have or not, for less than a Lu Duan that is an extremely competent profile. The amount of points saved is ridiculous and more appropriate to something that starts with impetuous.

TAG Raid looks nice, but I definitely do not have the funds or need for it. I am grateful that CB, however, provided some new profiles to play around with. A 9 point Heavy Flamer can be a helpful piece.

The only thing I do not understand about the N4 Megabeast rules is all the Total Immunity. Because of that, hunter's weapons are not actually good at killing them. Am I missing something? Hopefully they tweak them prior to release.

In regards to the relative success of the kickstarter, I feel like there are a lot of factors which differentiate Tag Raid from Defiance.

The some of the more obvious reasons are: Tag Raid is a shorter Kickstarter campaign, (only 2 weeks instead of 3). The world is still dealing with a global pandemic, and many people's money spending priorities have likely shifted. Due the delays in global shipping, Defiance is just now arrived in backers' hands, and a this sudden influx of new miniatures could impact their desire to get another box of miniatures. Backers of Defiance may also be more reluctant to back due to the delays in shipping the experienced.

Tag Raid had a slow and steady stream of teasers, for a few months before the kickstarter's launch date was even confirmed, and I think may have worked counter to building the hype as they would have liked. People who were not interested in the mining theme once it was revealed had more time to voice their protest, and people who were potentially interested did not have enough information to really discuss.

Another factor is the type of game being offered. Tag Raid is mostly a very trimmed down version of the already trimmed CodeOne. So, while it lends itself to better pick up games and allows for more than 2 players, it may not be as appealing to more veteran players who are looking for either more tactical depth or a novel ruleset to break up their regular gaming.

As mentioned by others, the miniatures offered are vastly different. Defiance offered an assortment of unique sculpts for Shasvastii, (even if they were Nox which most Shas players already had enough of), O-12, new characters, and resculpts of old characters. The number of minis offered in Defiance were also enough to justify the purchase as an army starter. Tag Raid offers 5 new TAG mins, (which have received mixed reviews), for a new generic Industrial Tag, 9 new infantry, (prospectors and the human hunters), with a mostly generic unit for each, the Morat hunter, 25 infantry and remotes which have a more nebulas use as proxies, and the 3 Megabeasts, which however much anyone likes them, do not have a place outside of casual games of Infinity. Because of all of this there is a lot less crossover appeal for more Infinity focused backers.

The last one I will bring up is the repackaged add-ons. The Defiance add-ons not only added value to Defiance the Game, but also offered a nice collection of minis to supplement an Infinity army at a discounted rate and sometimes even parting out units which where otherwise locked behind larger Infinity boxes. The add-ons for Tag Raid are for 2 S5 minis per add on, (one set of which don't even work for the same faction in Infinity), and though some of them could be useful if as doubles, outside of the Azra'il, (though now that I think of it the Ratnik may also be going away within the next year too), all are either available on their own, or in collections that are already a better starting point for an army.

Considering these factors, I do not see it as surprising that Tag Raid has not raised as much as Defiance.

For your debat, if you want, there is a video analysis on the end of the campaign, on the gravypool channel, in Spanish:

Apart from the morat hunter, there is also a Black Market mode and a future feature in the ITS, according to the last article 19:
    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/corvusbelli/infinity-deathmatch-tag-raid/posts/3360489

    Hello dear backers!

We are just over 24 hours away from the end of this exciting campaign! We want to thank you for all your support! You're awesome!

We have unlocked another Stretch Goal!

In the Black Market we will be able to acquire all kinds of material of dubious legality to improve our TAGs and our prospecting crew. With the appearance of hunters in Khurland, the Black Market was not going to miss the chance to get more benefits, so it has increased its catalog. With this unlock, the number of cards available in the Black Market for our mining corporation will increase.

The extra cards will be included in the Search & Capture expansion.

And now, let's go for the last Social Goal of the campaign!

Yes, you read that right: 50RT of this publication on Twitter! If we reach that goal, we will unlock an update to mining-themed ITS rules!

I mean, yeah? Duh? Overcosted crap like the Zhanying also need a points break to be viable exactly like this guy does, the Zhanying gets next to no value out of paying for shit like bioimmunity, sensor, and sixth sense. That's a close combat model with a bunch of gun upgrades it's never going to leverage effectively, it needs the offset to be useful.

Wildcats are already worth their cost, they don't need help. That's the difference.

Does becoming impetuous due to Frenzy cause you to lose anything aside from Camo/IMP and Partial Cover, or am I mis-reading this?

No, you've got it right, but a BS 11 troop with 1 ARM *really* doesn't like losing Partial Cover bonuses. Especially because she doesn't have a DTW, so she's forced to use her rather poor shooting capability to get anything done outside of CC.

She shoots like an unlinked Alguacile; she needs all the help she can get.

Exactly, losing the -3 BS and -3 Damage to incoming BS Attacks hurts her a lot.

Aha, I read it as her own combat mods (e.g. losing the bonus burst and bonus damage for her CC attack) and thought there was maybe something else about Frenzy that I'd been playing wrong.
