Why is it so low? GW and other companies have used similar tactics to promote their products. If we enjoy the stuff Corvus Belli puts out, why would it be an issue to promote it for them by sharing a post?
Doesn't make it any less of a low tactic. And then tattoo their logo on our foreheads? Why would I exactly allow CB to use my own social media presence as free advertisement? To receive something they have withheld as a "stretch goal"? My social media are not their free billboards for straight up advertisement, ffs. If they want ads to appear on my boards, feel free to renumerate me accordingly.
Okay... would you be this disparaging about it if A larger miniatures manufacturer did this? Or is it only Corvus Belli that deserves your vitriol? I agreed with you on the quality control issues over siocast but this just seems like hate for the sake of it against Corvus Belli. I have no problem advertising for a company whose product I enjoy, all toy soldier manufacturers are great in my eyes. My wallet disagrees but he can sod off, he knows nothing and is an inanimate object. If you have an issue with advertising for any company, then don’t do it. No one is forcing you to. Those that do choose to help advertise for these companies do so because they love the miniatures that get put out by them. From GW, to Warlord Games and Corvus Belli, I’ll happily plug the products they produce. For free. I’ll do it with a smile.
All this happened the last kickstarter, and its literally what every successful board game kickstarter does? I genuinely think you are almost obsessing over things to hate CB for even when they do standard KS protocols.
Yes. And I do. No, I don't hate CB. "Vitriol" and "hate" are so easily tossed around. If I hated CB I wouldn't give so much of a fuck about their next product. What I do is despise low capitalist tactics, despise how normalized they've become. And the fact that they're already normalized cannot hold me from still speaking against them. They're literally forcing us to do it if we want to receive what's already been promised to us (N4 profiles for things that are in the box). Yet you not only not say a thing, but praise them for it when they give with one hand and take away with the other, call it "normal", because "others do it as well". You know what that painfully sounds like? Codependency in a relationship. And that's the problem. Nah, as above - it's late stage capitalism and cheap marketing tactics I have an issue with.
No one can or indeed should silence someone’s voice. People have the right to be heard. You certainly have the right to speak your mind. The problem is that you’re taking issue with something that every company does. It’s a marketing ploy and an effective one, it’s not likely to stop. I don’t throw my words around lightly either. You seem genuinely angry at Corvus Belli. That may not be the case but here and in other posts you really seem to dislike them.
I really don't believe that - and if I did, complaining about capitalist methods of advertising for a Kickstarter campaign is just so bizarre? There are a ton of places to critique Capitalism on the internet, but on a thread for a PRODUCT in a forum for a COMPANY's miniature game is definitely a unique one.
Sure won't if nobody speaks up against it. The "impossibilism" of "don't bother, they won't stop, it's what everyone does" is not what got us through freon (the ozone layer is actually back!), cigarette smoking, speaking openly about sexual assaults on women in every single industry - every single socioeconomic change starts with enough voices saying "no, I don't think I will". Do not mistake annoyance with dislike or "hatred" / "vitriol" and so on. Like I said before, it's very easy to assing "overreacting", "hating", "hysteria" to anyone who openly, vocally and critically cares. The pose of the blase non-commitment to any particular ideal at all and "cool" lack of care for the wrongs of the world is pretty cynical and callous. Aside from those factors, the company has made a series of ill-thought moves recently, has failed to follow through on promises, quality and communication at many instances. It's really not hard to be "angry" with them, even - or especially - if you like the product.
Hmmm. Personally not enthused for any of the models yet. They're going to look totally out of place with my current minis it's looking like a hard pass for me for the moment. Only one I could see myself using is the Yu jing dog Yao Zao but I'm not kickstarting for just that.
I dig it - like a slightly de-optimised Tanko in a lot of respects, but that's still an awesome place to be. Have a Dashat list I want to try them in first, duo-ing with ABHs.
Infinity has very lax proxy rules. And it is not like they are difficult to proxy. Another low capitalist practice is a regularly updated miniature game with numerous factions, diverse gameplay and tons of additional products sharing setting with it. Central planning would have never allowed such a waste of valuable metals, design work and precise casting to go into a game. Chess, backgammon, checkers and a deck of cards should be more than enough fun for everyone.
Hopefully because they will get a separate profile with the Morat (Veteran + Religious) rule. Hopefully.
Why would they when the Yu Jing remote presence Prospector is a the same Ariadnan tech with a fleshy human in it as everyone else?
Ah, yes, the classic hyperbole into insulting insinuation of totalitarian left leanings. 2/10, try again.
