They didn't look too much HI back in the day untill you gave them a close look, true. They were among the early "light HI" with ARM 3.
As for proxying as Druze - well, I do have the Druze, too. Not to meniton the weapons don't match (Spitfire, AP Rifle & Panzerfaust, Feuerbach - Druze have none of these), and same goes for Brawlers (actually I'm making my Brawlers out of assorted LI from various factions - including Muyib new LGL converted into a HRL).

Here's a big secret about people playing these games. Most of us don't really know which weapons the models are carrying anyway, and even less of us that can recognise the weaponry care that your model has the exact right model.

Just take it easy. There isn't a proxy police going around to arrest you for not using the exact right sculpts.

Find a unit whose models you don't have or don't like how the new sculpts look and use them for that unit. Big weapon is big weapon, small weapon is small weapon.

Alternatively, just save everyone trouble and throw the models away.

Here's a big secret: I don't just throw my models away. Especially after I put some time and effort to convert and paint them.
Though you are welcome to do that with your model collections (and - pics, or it didn't happen).

As for units I don't have - tough luck. For the factions I play, I do have models. In many cases indeed - the old sculpts.

...but I really like to see you throwing your models away. C'mon, make my day.

(Here is my chance you will remember me) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

On the one hand you are right, he could use this models as proxy.
But player are different. For somebody it is imported the models are painted, for other it isn't.
The same happened with the weapons. I try always that my figures have the correct, even if my opponent don't notice. It's important for me.

And yes, I don't think that the new S5 Azra'il are a Problem, too. And it happened 3 years ago, so why bother with it yet?

Back in the day when new Kums rolled out I remember some chap posting a video depicting him hilariously trashing his old (Alita's) monobike Kum - the ones he already painted and even the ones he had just bought. Was he @McNamara or @Dude ?

I started playing in 2006, N1, so I got a lot of old models I don't use anymore. I simply feel like they got their time on the battlefield and now deserve retirement so I keep them in a drawer. CB miniature are fairly cheap compared with their competitors (PP, GW) so I don't mind upgrading my range, not at all, on the contrary it is a pleasure to have new shiny toys every given opportunity.

Moreover if everyone will stop buying new miniatures even if not every so often our friends at CB will feel a dent in their business and us in our constant stream of new and shiny stuff. It's a kind of symbiotic relationship what we have here as we talk about not so big business. Plus I'm glad to buy new miniatures when they release new sculpts 'cos they will be gorgeous - by the way Corvus Belli why don't you upgrade Nomad support pack just to say one... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I'd just take the first option myself. ^^
Although I guess there's a third option, variant of second, which is to give the models away. Don't have pics, but I have done it before and will do it again when I encounter models I don't want and somebody else wants.
But mostly, it's option one for me - just proxy for whatever I enjoy.

Yes, I remember you :-P And I know some people are particular about it. But if you insist on a particular detail no-one else cares about, expect sarcastic comments about it! ^^
    (I know I do, for things I care about :D )

Definitely wasn't me, never owned any Kum and I find the old minibikes more creative then the boring choppers they can up with as a replacement.
Mono wheel Montessa would be fun, but I doubt they gave the balls to do such a design again.

Agreed. The old CA drones single-handedly got me into this game. The new ones felt boring, Generic Evil Aliens #254, and the new uninspired color scheme didn't help. At least new Kums have the excuse of being great sculpts from a technical standpoint.

    That would be Magno.

you maybe could use them as sekban, there is some similarity that I see.
But I assume you possibly have them already, too.

It was @Magno, and I think it was mostly a joke about how absolutely amazing the new models were.

As long as the narrative won't end with "deus ex machina or CA wins and game ends"... the move you are describing needs to be made with care, because it can corner the whole narrative into a single logical outcome that cannot be.
Thrawn's first (written) appearance had such problem. The author (Timothy Zahn) had to find a creative solution so the Imperial Grand Admiral wouldn't win and restore the Empire...

But that’s the thing about all of this. The funniest way the Combined Army could win while at the same time wiping itself out would be for the Combined Army forces interrupt the human forces activating the digester, and -by complete accident- discover part of the secret to Ascension. That’s the Deus Ex Machina solution, but it’s also actually what the El is supposed to be motivated to find.

Just because it’s logically equivalent to the Indiana Jones “the Nazis win, get the Arc of the Covenant, and then kill themselves when they try to use it”, doesn’t make it narratively bad.

The monowheels are amazingly fragile, you absolutely MUST pin that wheel-to-body joint. I picked up all the old Kum (including Izzat Beg) when the new ones came out. I'm still planning on doing a massive conversion to Venus Wars style monowheels:

That one is "game over" (not "lose" but literally over), thus discarded because CB's business is Infinity. I meant "the CA would win, but suddenly...." because "CA wins" here means "CA conquers humanity", thus ending Infintiy.

As for Ascension, I find hard to believe the EI is one Digestor away from Ascension, or that it needs just one.

(you know, those Black Friars are asking, and losing their patience..... )

Though as I understand it, that bike design is intended for the Tohaa.

That’s really short sighted, because it loses sight of the fact that the CA winning would mean putting humanity in the testing system (if it isn’t already) or volumes upon volumes of Tumblr AI porn involving the El and Aleph. :flushed::scream::cold_sweat::joy::hugging_face:

The CA seizes the digester, secretly integrates with Aleph, and then rigs the wormholes in Paradiso to close, making it look like humanity has been saved because the CA forces are cut off. Fade to black, and Infinity N4 release announcement. :tada::raised_hands:

Lots of ways for the CA to win without the end of Infinity. :upside_down_face:
