Hello, I was just wondering about the changes we're gonna be seeing when our Greek champions return from the depths of Paradiso. Will we get a Thora core? What changes will we see in profiles(aside from shock immunity)? Who'll get Wildcard? All just speculation, but fun to consider. For one, I don't really want a million of our named characters to be wildcards. I like that they're bound to certain troops through Enomotarchos. Instead, it could be really nice to see Dactyles get the ability to get thrown into other teams so I wouldn't feel like I have to bring Machaeon every game to push buttons. I'd also like to see the Agema mk12 version get a FTO wildcard option, that could play interestingly with Myrmidon links. I wonder if Diomedes will get something cool to replace his lt option. I mean, it was 100% pointless since there were never any reason to buy that and miss out on his airborne deployment, but it'd be cool to see Action Man get something extra.
I kinda want an unnamed Hoplite HI option, but that is not likely to happen until it is time for SP to get an overhaul. I'd also like Phoenix, Eudoros and/or Nesaie to get an NCO option.
I’d just like to see Achilles V1 upgraded to be state of the art. He’s really fallen behind the curve.
I may be in the minority, but I actually like Achilles v1 more than v2, atleast at this moment of testing. The removal of frenzy in my opinion is very substantial. While v1 cannot kill a tag unless he can touch it (and the changes to dodge do help so if he can get within about 16 inches to it he can just angry dodge at it till he reaches it). Achilles v1 can kill a heavy infantry (arm 5 or so) over several orders just due to his ability to having a high bs and forcing the target to have an awful bs. The removal of his frenzy makes Achilles no longer be a style of rambo that will just blitz forward, do as much damage as possible and then die that I realized I played him as in n3. Achilles v2 can actually kill the tag with his gun, but after his 1 turn of killing something, his removal of cover + only having mimitism is quite weak for a 67 point model. I am still testing v1 to see how badly I have a problem with tags, but i have been happy over the several games with v1 with him NOT having frenzy.
I like V1 alot more now. I agree that it is in a great place. Other good options for tag hunting too though.
Goodness no. That'd be too much. She's already more scary than most core linked snipers as is. Regular agema for links could be nice though. That sweet burst 2 MSV2 missile action.
my wishlist for SP? running a full team of heroes to be viable points wise and each character distinct. if they keep the changes before they were removed from the new army editor thorakites all have 360 visors along with the 3 armor, should be fun
With how much Shock and MSVs are in the game Myrmidion Characters can't be just NWI and be worth their salt. Pricing won't fix it, Shock Immune+NWI does, but leaves Machaon with half a job to do sometimes on the side. Phoenix doesn't work in N4 the way he is. Not a fan of slapping Shock Immunity on everything with NWI and calling it good. I'd rather see Pat, Teucer, Phoenix and Eudoros go up to 2 real W. Scylla, Thamyris and Myrmidon Hacker being the only guys on the Infowar job could use some help. Mostly a Tinbot option would be nice for the Links. Drakios, Scylla and Atalanta have NCO right there in the title. Dactyls are needed on the frontline, given the RPG party Wildcard link craze, it pains me to say it they need that or Enomotarchos needs to work like Triad in terms of free mix and match + Character. Overall SP was one of the Sectorials that started N3 fairly strong and fell victim to power creep and Order spam around it. They're much more comfortable in Tactical Window, have solutions to MSVs with Eclipse and Albedo, but could use some help with their staying power. Some random improvements would be Eclipse on Phoenix, so the guy can give MSVs a run for their money. Parachutist (DZ) or Combat jump (+3) on Diomedes/Ekdromoi. Patroclus rework into a decent solo trooper. Holo L3 is dead, him playing second fiddle in an Achilles Duo was strong flavor, but I'd rather have an incentive to use the dude on his own, than make him only useful there. Even though he cancels Achilles V2's Frenzy, that's just a bit too boring. SP has no Minelayers or Perimeter, barely any midfield next to Trasymedes, Marker States are almost non existent and their ARO presence in BS attacks and Hacking is weak. That's a death sentence in N4. There need to be some rather big changes to help them out not keeling over against getting shot, Spotlighted in their own Eclipse or templated to death by B2(3 when linked) DTW Shotguns. Hidden Deployment Agema Profiles would be pretty radical. Otherwise access to existing tools that don't exist in SP yet.
Yea i know it will never happen :( i just want my greeks to be overpowered that is my wishlist. :) On a more serious note I would like to see Agema with a fireteam of their own or wildcard them into other teams for long range support. Thorakitai need to not get a large jump in price when/if they get 4-4 move too. Otherwise we will have no Cheap line infantry.
If Thamyris got an EVO device that'd actually make him excellent. EVO and pitcher on a body that isn't utterly useless like the EVO Probot would be amazing. There aren't any other hackers like that is there? Can't remember if there even are EVO programs as upgrades for regular devices anywhere.
EVO in SP feels kinda toothless, since they're really lacking any REMs, limiting the used to Ekdromoi and giving Achilles and Hector Fairy dust. Would be great in vanilla tho.
I'd like Ajax to get a discount and be a top tier CC specialists. I'd like him to have CC 23, NBW, and MA lvl 3. I'd like Scylla to be a good hacker with linked bots. In N3 she could have a KHD with Maestro, so I would like to see her be a killer hacker with a -3 to opponents buff (like interventors now). I think giving her a HD+ would be great too. Access to cyber mask is key. A thorakiai Lt option would be amazing. Getting a cheap Lt option could make a huge difference in what lists could look like.
I'd love to see Thamyris get an EVO. I would also like if he was just had a HD and a pitcher, but got a points discount. Access to a ~15 pitcher would be nice.
