I worry about getting back in to guide writing if the ship Corregidor is gonna get blown up and the faction retired.
CJC is honestly the sanest of the Nomad ships and one of the human factions with the clearest and most coherent faction identities. The fact that CB has - through the last 12 months of marketing - put us in a position where we are unironically having this conversation is well dull.
I really dont see that happening at all to nomads. largely due to when CB retire a faction it appears to be to handle SKU bloat and to introduce a new sectorial. Given that the nomad identity is centered around the 3 ships and I dont see that happening anytime soon especially considering we dont have an other forces lurking around in the fluff like the other factions like PanO does to fill the gap. Though the upside to getting retired would the rebalance and rework of the sectorial.
Either way Corregidor will either never have a big player base or any guide will need to be totally redone. But I dunno.
Whether or not they will be retired I will use the impending Corregidor rework to work on a complete guide.
Thank you I don't trawl the forum for any info so I'm usually a few months behind unless someone brings it up in the Nomads forum. Good to know, maybe Wildcats will get new models some day then.
I have a converted BSG and Spitfire I quite like. I need to do some minor conversion on my hacker and engineer then I'll be happy with them.
My plan for the Hacker is just to use the Hellcat Hacker goggles and press-mold them onto the Wildcat. For the engineer is to find a satchel and add that (think like Bolts).
Honestly, call me weird here, but... Corregidor is so far the most interesting Nomad sectorial to me. Maybe it's the great TAGs. Maybe it's the fact you can make a list with all units having Fire ammo. Maybe it's the Mobile Brigada, 'cause I sure do like me some HI. But something about it just seems nice. And that it might fit my tendency of playing SCG lists. Also, the newer fireteam options that appeared recently seem decent enough: Gecko-Brigada Duos, Brigadas+Alguaciles, pretty sure Balboa is a wildcard now... Just felt like saying CJC looks cool.
I have taken a few potshots at Corry here and there for not really having anything to contribute. Amusingly I think I am more exited about the new builds here then any one else is. Hell I ran a pure carzy jank list Saturday and did far better then I had any right to.
I've been playing decently regularly since very late N2 and Corregidor is 90% of my games. I've been fine with it.
Jank is normally some borderline playable composition that tends to fall into the "it's crazy/dumb enough it may just work" category. for example a list that takes twin gecko and iguana list is a jank list.
Sounds... exactly like something I'd run the majority of the time, given the chance/models, honestly. I feel a need to look further into this type of list...
